Dundalk’s talented young female boxers were the toast of the town as the Dealgan club’s star boxers produced three All Ireland titles and a runners-up finish recently in Dublin’s National Boxing Stadium. The Dealgan boxing club have a long history of producing some of the best talent to come out of Louth in previous years and this year was to be no exception. Popular Blackrock man Owen Carroll tragically lost his life on Sunday due to injuries sustained in a fire which started in his house last Thursday evening. 74-year-old Owen, from Sandy Lane in Blackrock, died peacefully in St James Hospital in Dublin on Sunday morning.
