The tragic death of Adrian Donohoe has left a huge void in the community where he was an active and highly respected member. The 41-year-old father of two was shot and killed during a robbery at Lordship Credit Union on Friday night leaving the whole nation in shock. However, it is among his family, friends, Garda colleagues and the local community where Adrian lived, worked and socialised, that have been most affected and left numb by the senseless killing. Parish Priest of Lordship and Ballymascanlon, Fr Padraig Murphy, summed up the feeling at Mass on Sunday morning when he stated that a “dark cloud had descended on the commu-

State funeral for fallen hero Detective Adrian Donohoe will be honoured with State funeral which will take place in the Redemptorist Church, St Alphonsus Road, Dundalk at 12.30pm today (Wednesday). The funeral procession will travel from Lordship - where a guard of honour will be formed by members of St Patricks GFC - through Ravensdale to the church Following the service, a procession will travel from the Alphonsus Road, over to the Avenue Road. From there it will proceed over the Hill Street Bridge, up Stapleton Place before passing in front of Dundalk Garda Station at the Crescent. . After this it will travel along Anne St, Park St and Clanbrassil St before returning to Lordship, via Ravensdale. Traffic restrictions will be in place. See Page 21
