A 25-year-old man who suffered a brain aneurysm last Thursday evening has defied the odds and baffled doctors in Beaumont hospital by making a full recovery in just two days. Chris Joyce from Bay Estate was visiting his sister Samantha on Thursday evening when he started to get unbearable pains in his head. He was brought to Our Lady of Lourdes hospital in Drogheda where he was told that his brain was bleeding and that he needed to be rushed to Beaumont to get a clamp to stop the bleeding. Chris’s mother Mairead was with her son as he was rushed to Beaumont and she was told that he was in serious trouble. “We were told that Continued on Page 11

Senator Mary Moran has insisted that there are still questions to be answered following last week’s Town Council review of the controversial cycle lanes in Dundalk. Senator Moran was speaking after last Tuesday’s meeting in which town engineer Catherine Duff answered questions from councillors with regards to the much criticised cycle lanes. “I just felt that the meeting last Tuesday evening was a bit of a let down to be honest. We were in the meeting for two hours and I don’t think there was anything much said that we didn’t know already. Continued on page 8
