Annual Ag Expo filled with fun

For four decades the nonprofit organization Four States Ag Expo has presented a three-day event for regional residents to learn all about farm and ranch management, from honing new training and riding skills to raising livestock. The group offers the most innovative and inclusive agriculture show in the region.

Volunteers can assist attendees at every turn. Parking is free, and shuttles will be available to transport visitors from the ticket gate to the booth and event areas. And veterans receive free admission on Saturday.

EQUESTRIANCENTERED EVENTS

San Juan Mounted archers will return to perform exciting demonstrations. The expo features instructional equestrian workshops with professional trainers Randy Helm, Mark and Mardi Anson and Brandy Stevenson. Professional horse chiropractor Kathy Klix and farrier Matt Lawlor will host demonstrations to help others keep horses healthy. EDUCATIONAL DEMONSTRATIONS & WORKSHOPS

Learn more about niche agricultural topics at this year’s show, including stock dog training demonstrations with Colton Mikkelson, discussions about hemp with Abdel Berrada and guidance on caring for livestock with Temple Grandin. The Ag Expo is also the perfect place to network with other professionals with years of experience in the industry. YOUTH ENGAGEMENT

Activities for the next generation of farmers are some of the best traditions. There’s a Beef Show, cross-cut branding, face painting and an ice cream eating contest sponsored by ColdStone Creamery. Children can also enjoy seeing farm animals on the grounds, the CALF facility and trying to catch a chicken to take home.

Vendors at the expo work hard to create high-quality products for their customers. This year, we invited more small artisans and producers to participate in our expanding show.
