ush forest meets the vast desert west of the continental divide in Colorado. Even though the western slope is about 38% of the state’s total area, only about 10% of its population reside here. The Colorado River divides the northern and southern regions of the Western Slope around Grand Junction, Colorado – the most populous city between Denver and Salt Lake City, Utah.
