he best thing about being a woman is the prerogative to have a little fun!” If you know the lyrics to the Shania Twain hit–you know it’s a whole vibe. So, join Ballantine Events for an annual, inclusive affair all about celebrating the fun side and feminine touch, What A Girl Wants.
After a two-year hiatus, the event returns – in a totally new venue. On Saturday, Nov. 12, vendors from across the Four Corners will gather in the Student Union Ballroom at Fort Lewis College to showcase a variety of products, services and skills that appeal to women of all ages.
Doors open at 10 a.m. Saturday, and admission is $8 per person. Purchase tickets online or at the door to enjoy the event, which lasts until 4 p.m.
Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit SASO, a local nonprofit. Learn more about the organization’s mission on page 6, and stop by the nonprofit’s booth to learn more about getting involved.
What to expect at this exciting event
From clothing and cosmetics to health and fitness, there is a little something for everyone here. Treat yourself, then stock up on holiday gifts and goodies for friends and family.
If you’re new to town, don’t miss this opportunity to meet new friends and learn more about local businesses.

Meet the Coordinator
Ballantine Events is a branch of Ballantine Communications, Inc. that connects businesses in the Southwest with consumers to showcase products and services through special events.
For nearly two decades, Four Corners Expos has hosted a variety of family-friendly, community events, including the Two Hearts Wedding Experience, Durango Regional Career Fair and Durango Home & Ranch Show.
To prepare for shows of this size in our community, it takes a mastermind and many months of planning. Fortunately, Georgiana Hallock joined the team as Ballantine Events Coordinator earlier this year.
In her role, Hallock will create community events that help businesses connect directly with customers. She is excited to bring her previous experiences organizing large events, such as horse shows, nonprofit fundraisers, team-building experiences and weddings, to Four Corners Expos events. And Hallock said she is looking forward to making improvements to each show.
Always donning a smile, Hallock is an active listener with an outgoing personality. She is detail-oriented and enjoys the creative challenge of bringing a client’s vision to life. Her focus for every event is creating an engaging environment that brings people together.
Though Hallock is from Durango, she moved to town from Oklahoma earlier this year to be closer to her family here. When she isn’t handling logistics for Four Corners Expos, Hallock enjoys hiking and paddling on the water. She also attends Psycle Durango and is working on becoming an instructor.
Say hello and stay connected to Ballantine Events by reaching out to Hallock at (970) 375-4599 or ghallock@bcimedia.com. For more information on upcoming shows, visit www.bci-events.com.
