Formula Student Austria Tuesday
Yes, the above is really a photo of today and yes, your thoughts are right: this means we have succesfully made it through scrutineering! It was a very busy day, there was a lot on the schedule: electrical scrutineering, technical scrutineering, design judging, tilt table, rain test, brake test and cost. Still, we have managed to make time to get on the test area!

9.20 - Design Judging The main focus of Formula Student competition is education and excellence in engineering and this can perfectly be judged by good discussions with the engineers. Therefore it is the most important static event. Our car was more shiny than ever to make a good impression.

27-08-2013 Actually, the entire day was a rain test for us. We made quite a show by using the TBP tent as a big umbrella for our team members. Meanwhile, Lennert was fully prepared for the Business Presentation and was waiting for his slot with his wing man Arnold. You can see that our driver Erik was a bit tired of sitting in the car all day long, holding his DUT Racing umbrella. Fortunately, energy supplies were taken care of by Red Bull, and the stroopwafels made us feel like home!

14.45 - Tilt test The 60 degrees tilt table is another safety test for all the cars, so that they will not roll over when taking sharp turns. For most of the teams, this is an easy ‘check’, because a well designed car has a very low center of gravity to improve the grip on the asphalt.

Delft Bulletin - Formula Student Austria 15.45 - Cost Event In the afternoon, we presented the costs of our car to the judges. Points are given for completeness, cost (because the costumer should be the amateur weekend racer) and a so-called ‘real case’, which is a special topic. This year at FSA, the special topic was Total Cost of Ownership.
