have often said that my grandchildren are my greatest teachers. That was never so true as last fall when I realized my grandson Drew was showing me how the world works once again. “Nana,” Drew says in his phone call to me. “I don’t have school on Friday.” That always means he wants me to do something with him. “Well what do you want to do?” I asked. “I want to go skate boarding first. I am working on a report for school on extreme sports for kids and I need you to video tape me.” Only Drew would choose that topic. He’s an extreme sports kind of guy. “And then I want you to take me and Jake kayaking and fishing. We can use my dad’s truck to haul the kayaks.” “Let’s do it.” I said and we made our arrangements. He knows I will say yes. I will do anything for my grandchildren. I love hanging with my grandson but what struck me more than anything else as I mulled over our conversation was that he knew exactly what he wanted, he wasn’t afraid to ask for it and he expected to get it. That Friday I picked up Drew and his buddy Jake and we did exactly that, only it included going to lunch as well. Sitting on the shore reading a book, it was fun watching the boys as they paddled around and fished, at times together, other times on opposite sides of the lake. I had to drag them off the water after a good three hours. If the sun hadn’t been setting I’m sure they would have stayed out there much longer. It occurred to me as I watched them that Drew again had taught me another lesson. I haven’t always asked for what I wanted, and I certainly didn’t expect to get everything I desired. Perhaps it was the way my generation was raised — children didn’t ask for a lot — you were taught to be happy with what you got. Maybe it has to do with being a woman and a mom; we tend to put everyone else’s needs first. Or maybe it was the message my father used to say to me. “Sometimes you just have to make do with what you have.” However those messages landed in my psyche, I realized that I had allowed them to influence my life in so many ways. Jesus said "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” We live in an unlimited universe, all that we want is available to us. It is up to us to ask and be open to receive. And bottom line: YOU GET WHAT YOU EXPECT. Do you expect good things to happen to you? Do you expect to get what you want? Or do you settle for whatever shows up, taking what you can but never expecting more? My resolution for 2016 is to change that. Beginning today I will use my voice and ask for what I want. And by golly, I expect to get it. May 2016 be the year you ask and receive all that you desire.

Beer & Yoga? A beer brewery might seem like an unlikely place for a yoga class, but for some, that’s a part of the appeal. “The floors are concrete, and they’re usually a bit dirty. It’s loud from the glycol chiller,” said Beth Cosi, who teaches a class called Bendy Brewski at breweries around Charleston, SC. “Its garage band yoga. You’ve got to be OK with that.” Cosi, who had worked in the restaurant business when she began teaching yoga said she noticed how much her coworkers needed the practice. But no matter how much she invited them to come to her studio classes, they never came. She realized they were intimidated by the yoga studio, so she started offering yoga classes at a local brewery to make the practice more accessible. Following the classes with a beer tasting was a no brainer. “There’s a kind of serenity after a good yoga class, and what followed was relaxing, slow conversation with no drama and no yoga hype,” Cosi said. There are other advantages to practicing yoga where craft beer is brewed, too. From the smell of hops to the feeling of community, breweries offer a casual atmosphere that brings together students who might otherwise never practice yoga with seasoned practitioners who enjoy a good beer. “Beer and yoga have a few things in common, but the most important is happiness,” said beer blogger and yoga teacher Adrienne Jenise, who teaches BrewAsanas in the Denver and Boulder, Colorado areas. “Both are soothing, relaxing, and lead to a casual social environment.” Yoga Journal

You're Not Sick, You're Thirsty You are not just what you eat; you are what you drink. This is why water is so important to your health. Dr. F. Batmanghelidj, MD believes promoting "water for health, for healing, for life" is an invaluable public health message. We can all change the way we drink. No miracles. Just common sense backed by Dr. Batmaghelidj’s years of research and investigation into why water works so well in keeping us healthy and pain free. Some of the benefits of water include: 1. Lowering Blood Pressure — The more water you drink, the more fluids leave the blood vessel, causing your vessels to relax and your blood pressure to reduce. 2. Eliminating Toxins and Body Waste — When we become dehydrated toxins saturate our blood and the flow is slowed down. Excess toxins are stored in cells rather than being excreted from the body. The end result is that the cells do not function normally which can cause health problems including cancer. 3. Preventing and Treating Diabetes — Diabetics are not able to process sugar that is eliminated through urine drawing water from the body. This can cause dehydration that can lead to serious health problems for diabetics. Drinking enough water is therefore even more important for someone suffering from diabetes. 4. Preventing Osteoporosis — The formation of strong bones also needs adequate hydration and there is some evidence dehydration is responsible for the loss of calcium in bones that accompanies aging in many people. According to Batmanghelidj, other health benefits of water include: Reducing Cholesterol Levels, Heart Attack and Stroke; Eliminating Toxins and Body Waste; Strengthening the Immune System as well as positively influencing Sleep Disorders, Neurological Disorders, Arthritis and Back Problems, Depression, Digestion, Eye Health, Skin Health, Weight Loss and Aging. www.watercure.com

Ten Green Business Ideas Although there are many options for starting your own green business, here are ten eco-friendly ideas to consider: 1. Green franchises. Visit www.greenfranchisedirectory.com to learn about green franchise concepts and opportunities. 2. Upcycle furniture. Old, broken furniture can be reassembled into new chic pieces to sell. 3. Bicycle repair and refurbishing. Offer local cyclists light repair or cleaning services. If you have the space, you can purchase inexpensive older bikes, fix them and sell them for a profit. 3. Green housecleaning services. Start a service that cleans using only all-natural and eco-friendly cleaning products. 5. Handmade all-natural/organic products. Create soaps, cosmetics, and cleaning products that are natural or organic. Even though most of us can make homemade recipes, having someone create it for us and package products for us in convenient sets makes life easier. 6. Recycling pickup. Create a service that picks up those items that homeowners’ recycling pickup will not. E-waste, batteries, and chemical products can end up in landfills because people do not know how or where to dispose of them. 7. Organic catering. Cater with foods that are made from organic and locally-grown ingredients, and offer free-range meats along with vegan, gluten-free and paleo-meal options. 8. Green app developer. Create apps to help users learn more about going green and guide them toward achieving their sustainable lifestyle goals. 9. Sustainable event planner. Green event planners can use their green expertise and event-planning skills to find ecofriendly venues, materials, and accommodations to help curb the effects that meetings and events have on the environment. 10. Eco-friendly salon. Start a hair salon that uses all-natural shampoos and conditioners or a nail salon that uses environmentally friendly and vegan polishes and spa treatments. Exceptional Skin Care

Beauty

Beautiful Skin Begins with

H

ow have people cared for their skin in the past? In early times, beautification may have been considered secondary to survival. Early hunters painted their skin to blend into the environment to seek food. Later during the height of the Egyptian culture, cleanliness became very important, as did beautification, especially for religious ceremonies and preparing the dead for burial. Henna, a reddish dye, was used in the hair, for body art and on fingernails. The nomadic Hebrews used olive and grape seed oils to moisten and protect the skin. An ointment made from hyssop was used for cleansing. Myrrh and pomegranate were useful in grooming as well. The early Greeks frequently bathed in olive oil and then dusted the body with sand for protection from the sun. Remember the ancient Roman baths? These were public buildings with separate areas for men and women,

which offered steam therapy, body scrubs, massages and oils applied after treatment to sooth the skin. Until the present time, many products have been used to preserve moisture in the skin and enhance beauty. Today, the science of cosmetology offers a great variety of products to choose from. First, determine your skin type, then select an appropriate product. In our Colorado climate, skin typically needs a moisturizer. Lotions, hydrators and creams add moisture to the skin and are used twice daily after cleansing to protect and nourish the skin. A person with oily skin prone to acne still needs moisture, but typically not oil, since oil can further aggravate a break-out. Combination skin often needs moisture with some oil for balance. The dry skin type needs extra oil with the moisture to soothe the dryness. In today’s world, one should also look

at what is in a product. Some ingredients simply should not be used. Natural preservatives keep a product fresh with some added shelf life, but certain preservative types are best avoided. Look for paraben-free products. Parabens may cause skin irritation, contact dermatitis and rosacea in some individuals. Ask a skin care professional to help you determine your skin type and the best products to use. Professional grade products are best to achieve long lasting beautiful results. Ten Steps to Becoming an Ethical, Conscious Consumer 1. Research. For starters, look into where the products come from, and then dig deeper into what that industry may be doing behind the scenes. 2. Look for the labels. If something is fair trade, organic, locally sourced, etc., it will almost always have some kind of label or sticker. 3. Wants vs. needs. A big part of being an ethical consumer is recognizing the difference between wants and needs. 4. Buy for quality. Purchase products that will last. 5. Shop local. Support local farms, buy in season, and shop at local businesses. 6. Recycle and pay attention to packaging. Recycle whatever you can, compost what you can, and avoid buying products with a ton of packaging. 7. What is it made of? If it is not fairly traded, look for materials that are organically made. Also, look for materials that aren’t made from animal products. 8. Does it give back? A lot of products are now buy one give one. These companies like the TOMS Shoes One for One Movement donate one product to those in need for every one product you buy. Many people have different views on the sustainability of these programs and organizations, but they are worth considering, especially those that are moving towards full sustainability. 9. Hold companies accountable. Every time you purchase something, you are casting your vote for what you want to see in the market. Hold your favorite companies accountable for where they get their raw materials. 10. Take it day by day. In striving to be an ethical, conscious consumer, every effort counts, big or small. Strive for your best each day. Source: www.elephantjournal.com

Sticks and Stones That Warm Your Achy Bones Sherry Adams

Now, in winter, there’s a brisk chill to the air that often sinks into the bones causing body aches. Who doesn’t seek the cozy comforts of the many forms of warmth on a cold day?

A

s a massage therapist I like to use sticks and stones to warm your achy bones. You can visit a spa that offers unique massage experiences that bring warmth and relaxation to the body, mind and soul and experiment with those ideas at home. You may be familiar with the standard hot stones massage, but why not enjoy the benefits of Himalayan salt stones? When Himalayan salt stones are warmed they release negative ions that create a calming atmosphere, which is why they make such great lamps and candle holders. Salt by its own nature destroys bacteria, which is why it’s used as a preservative. You can use Himalayan salt stones in a warm shower or bath to detox and exfoliate the skin. The warmth and trace minerals in the Himalayan salt stones are absorbed into the skin to ease muscle aches and pain. Another alternative is Mu-Xing or warm bamboo sticks. There are a few different shapes and sizes of bamboo sticks that can be used warm or cold to flush the muscles out and increase circulation and promote relaxation. Rosewood tools are also used to refine the massage and hit the pressure points to release trigger points. For those of you who fight pain with pain these tools can deliver exquisite pain (the hurt-sogood kind of pain). Essential oils can be diffused by warming them or they can be added

to any of these therapies for your benefit. A knowledgeable aromatherapist can create a blend just for you or suggest one of the many blends already created for your health need or your massage. Not all essential oils are food grade, but some are and can be added to any tea or recipe. I like to put a few drops of lemon or peppermint oil in my hot tea and breathe in the aroma. There are other forms of warm massage therapies that will help keep the chill out and warm the bones this winter, such as hot Thai coconut or herbal balls. Think of the herbal balls as healing compresses that help relieve pain, and the coconut balls help nourish and restore the skin’s moisture. A simple herbal compress that you can make at home is to put a couple handfuls of lavender flowers on some cheese cloth or other natural material, tie it up and steam it. Use it on achy muscles or add to your bath like a tea bag. Either way you will enjoy the aromatherapy. If you’re treating yourself or visiting your favorite massage therapist you may feel a little euphoric after your spa treatment, so give yourself some time to reflect and tune in to your body. Sherry Adams has been a Reiki Master and Teacher since 1998 and a massage therapist for over seven years.. She specializes in Asian Bodyworks and Energy Transformations. She offers several classes and practices out of Charmacy, 1220 S. College Ave,. Fort Collins, Colorado. Resolutions That Reap Rewards! May McCarthy

Every New Year, the topic of resolutions comes up. People are fired up and optimistic about achieving their goals. My friends powerfully proclaim, “I want to lose ten pounds” or “I want to get out of debt.” One friend said, “I hope that this year Uncle Bob isn’t a pain in everyone’s neck at the family reunion.” One thing that these resolutions or goals have in common is that they’re going to produce more of what these people don’t want in their lives.

Our words are powerful tools that help us to receive whatever we describe.

O

ur subconscious is designed to help us achieve whatever we focus our attention on. To accomplish the goal “I want to lose ten pounds,” you have to be always wanting to lose and never achieving. A better way to state your desired outcome is to say with gratitude: “I am so grateful I have a physically fit, trim, toned and energetic body that is pain-free and easily able to go on walks with my family and friends. We have so much fun together!” With a goal like this, your subconscious and your intuition are

12 BellaSpark • January/February 2016 • www.BellaSparkMagazine.com

going to show up more often, and in more obvious ways, to point you toward steps you can take to make those statements true. Our words are powerful tools that help us to receive whatever we describe. Unfortunately, we often give voice to what we don’t want instead of what we do, and then we’re surprised and disappointed with the results. For example, I know a saleswoman who often says things like, “I really hope that I’m not late for my appointment with ABC Company on Tuesday. They are a

huge potential customer and I don’t want them to buy from my competitor.” Do you see anything problematic in these statements? Perhaps not, since many of us have learned to speak like this. We talk about what we don’t want as a normal part of our speech. In this example, the saleswoman is most likely going to be late for her appointment with ABC Company since that’s what she’s focused on, and she may lose the sale to one of her competitors. Her subconscious recognizes that she’s focused on being late and her customer buying from a competitor. Accordingly, she may act in a way that makes those statements true. To enable her subconscious and intuition to help her, a more powerful statement would be, “I am so grateful to be on time and early for my appointments. I’m going to arrive at ABC Company 15 minutes early for my meeting, and I’m excited for the opportunity to sell our products and have my customer receive great value in return.” In response, her subconscious and intuition will show up in a more obvious way to help make those statements true. She might get a strong, unexpected thought to check the traffic report before she decides on a route to the appointment and avoid a terrible accident and backup. She may feel an intuitive nudge to get ready sooner than she normally does so that she can leave earlier. She might receive an email or phone call that gives her insight into her customer’s needs so that her presentation can be designed to be more valuable. We can choose to use our words to achieve more of our goals in 2016. To do this, follow the three simple steps below:

1. Rewrite your goals daily with gratitude as though you’ve already achieved them. Describe the outcome that you want to experience and be grateful in advance for the achievement. For example, “I am so grateful that I am living in a beautiful new home that allows my family and me to feel comfortable, safe and happy,” or “I’m delighted to receive a minimum of $____ that easily affords all of my living, giving and entertainment expenses. I use my talents and skills in fulfilling and satisfying ways.” Rewrite your goals daily to keep them at the forefront of your thoughts and

As you create a clear picture of your realized goals in your mind, you are creating new beliefs to make those goals manifest. Visualizing the successful completion of a goal is a powerful method that many professional athletes, musicians and businesspeople use daily as part of their preparation and training for success. Fourtime Mr. Universe and seven-time Mr. Olympia Arnold Schwarzenegger has not only used mental imaging for athletic success but also credits it for his success as a Hollywood actor: “When I was very young I visualized myself being and having what it was I wanted. Mentally I never had any doubts about it.” Well-known author Robert Collier puts it this way. “Visualize this thing that you want, see it, feel it, believe in it. Make your mental blueprint, and begin to build.” As you begin to see and feel yourself in your realized goals, you’ll welcome your achieved goals sooner. A Message from J.D. Messinger Lynette Chilcoat

J.D. Messinger offers a message of enlightenment which comes across like warm, mellow candlelight on a frigid winter’s night. Born of a medical crisis, his spiritual self took root long after he’d experienced a distinguished and lucrative career in the corporate world.

His approach is a combination of intelligent common sense and complex philosophy, all hard-earned.

“A

morphous constructs, such as ideologies, philosophies, religion and politics, are labels we as a people have created,” stated Messinger, a world-renowned business leader turned inspirational speaker and author. “When these views are challenged, resistance and anger are experienced, which can lead to violence, terrorism and war. Our confusion becomes a source of suffering. When your soul wants to go left but the world is pushing and pulling you to go right, it rips us in half. There is a battle between the head and the heart and the material world.” During a telephone conversation, Messinger shared deep insights laced with an earnest desire to promote wellness within the world. His

16 BellaSpark • January/February 2016 • www.BellaSparkMagazine.com

approach is a combination of intelligent common sense and complex philosophy, all hard-earned. Messinger’s bio reads like the résumé of a Type A superhero. He is one of 37 distinguished graduates from Annapolis’s class of 1981, a former fireman and a nuclear submarine officer who served on three submarines during the Cold War. In the corporate world he became an executive with Exxon, a crisis leader for the Valdez oil spill, and finally CEO of Ernst and Young Consulting (Singapore). In early 2000, he broke his neck and almost died. Although unfortunate, the circumstances he faced became a catalyst for him to reevaluate his life. Once recuperated, he retired from

the corporate world and shifted focus to promoting human potential. Messinger founded Essence Enterprises, where he trained 50,000 members of the Singapore Ministry of Defense in crisis response after 911 and SARS. As if that weren’t enough, he created, produced and hosted a social entrepreneur television show, followed by the CNN radio program Global Evolution, aired in over 100 countries. Not ready to rest on his laurels, Messinger wrote his first book in May 2012. The tome, 11 Days in May — The Conversation That Will Change Your Life, was so named because of the time it took to formulate from the preface to last page. An anthology of 36 parables of a man attempting to discover life’s greater meaning, the book went on to win five awards as well as hitting #1 on Amazon’s science and religion, spirituality, self-help and personal development categories. It follows one man’s quest to solve eternal questions such as: Who am I? Why am I here? and, Where did I come from? “Providing a framework to discard conventional wisdom,” said Messinger, “my book guides each reader to explore their beliefs and fears and find their own truth. Although it is a conversation from me to my higher self, the book wrote itself — a channeled writing. I refer to it as Writing on the Wall, or WOW. It includes information that was absolutely not mine and a lot of things in there are a little frightening. The parables ask big questions and there is no way I could have invented or created it.” Much of Messinger’s material mirrors historical concepts of ancient religion and spirituality. He acknowledges belief in God, but had no previous scholarly awareness of many of these ethical ideals.

Some of the points Messinger highlights are: the majority of people are struggling to survive in a deteriorating economy, unsure how to vote, whom to trust and what to believe. He attempts to shatter illusions by offering several revelations. • Everyone must choose between who and what they love more. • There is a science called religion and a religion called science. • Nothing is not-good. • Matter is not solid. “When you change what you believe, you change what you see. Find your light, which is your power,” added Messinger. One of his basic tenants is that what binds us is far greater than what divides. This Binding Force is everywhere and everything and it is the most powerful force in the universe. Within this Binding Force we are pure energy, photons and eternal spirits; everything is interconnected as well as interdependent; we have invisible gifts to hear, see, feel and know, to create wonders for ourselves and the greater good. If life itself were a marathon, Messinger would be at the head of the race. Striving and reaching full potential time after time has given him insights from both the judicious left brain and a creative spiritualism from the right. Yet he is not just the sum of his many accomplishments, but a bright light of wit and wisdom. “I believe it has become my calling to bring the essence of this news to

the world,” said Messinger. “I came from a very pragmatic background so I attempt to integrate fact with spirituality in a way that reaches both practical business types as well as those who are more transcendent.” The two aren’t necessarily mutually exclusive. Messinger shares stories of people who latch onto his lessons simply because his personal experiences have made it okay to do so, whereas it might have seemed otherwise inaccessible to them. An excerpt from Messinger’s book explains how a proposed transformation in the collective consciousness of humanity is taking place: “We the people find ourselves at a once-in-a-lifetime tipping point, a dramatic awakening. A shift is occurring for humanity, and it is divinely ordained. It is a time when the people must unite and speak out so that all sides understand we must leave behind selfish desires from the World of Form.” “From the Creator’s point of view, never before in the history of humanity have so many needed so much, or so few controlled so many. The lovely corollary is this: Never before have so many known so much or been so enlightened.” www.jdmessinger.com Lynette Chilcoat has been a freelance writer for nearly 20 years, regarding every current assignment as top priority. Each subject she addresses takes precedence in her life, aside from family, friends, pets and plants, whose presence remind her to lighten up. www.lynettechilcoat.com

Finding Your Animal Ally Denise Linn

I

n many native traditions, finding one’s animal ally often involved a vision quest in nature. However, as we don’t always have the opportunity to go on a quest, there are a number of other ways that you can find your spirit animal: Think about what animal you are drawn to: You may find your power animal by noticing the animals to which you feel irresistibly drawn. It

touch your spirit animal. Imagine the mist thinning and “see” what animal has appeared. You can even communicate with the animal to understand why it has come forward as your totem. Spend time in nature: The traditional way to discover your totem is to spend time in solitude in nature and then notice the animals that show up. You can also watch the

Perhaps you’ve loved stories about cats and have always felt aligned with them — this might indicate that some kind of cat is your ally. Watch your dreams: A totem may also appear repeatedly in a dream. Before you go to sleep, ask that your spirit animal appear in your dreams. Consider keeping a journal next to your bed so that you can record your dreams as soon as you awake. Pay attention to the signs: Ask the Creator to give you a sign in regard to your totem. If an animal appears a number of times, especially in unusual ways, this most likely is one of your allies. For example, you receive a card with a horse on it in the mail. Then you begin seeing horses on posters and billboards. There’s a song playing on the radio about a horse, as you’re driving by a field full of horses. If everywhere you turn, you see horses, there’s a good chance that the horse is your totem. Take the inward journey: One of the most powerful ways to find your spirit animal is to go on an inner journey (meditation). Imagine yourself in a mist, and picture yourself reaching into the mist to

images in the clouds and even in the patterns on the bark on the trees to get clues as to your totem.

Discovering the Qualities of Your Animal Ally Different cultures assign varying meanings to totems. Trust your intuition to find the significance of yours. There are many books that list power animals and what they represent. Although these can be very useful, it’s important to remember that this is only one person’s or one culture’s interpretation. Read the definition of your animal ally in the book and see if it feels right to you. Your own sense of what a particular spirit animal means is unique and is more valid than anyone else’s opinion. The owl is a good example of these varying definitions. When I was in Western Australia discussing totems with Aboriginal elders, I was told that men feared the owl, for it was a woman’s totem and represented the darkness and the unknown. They said that as men were afraid of the power of women, they also feared the owl. In New Zealand, I discussed animal allies with members of the Maori

The following is an excerpt from Kindling the Native Spirit by Denise Linn. It is published by Hay House (November 2015) and is available in bookstores and online at www.hayhouse.com tribe and asked about the owl. I was told that it was a sacred bird to the Maoris. It was so sacred that its name was never spoken. In my own Native American culture, some tribes revere the owl, saying that it represents deep wisdom, yet other tribes consider it the harbinger of death and darkness. The meaning for each ally can vary dramatically; therefore, it’s crucial that you find the meaning of your ally for yourself. Another way to discover what your totem represents is to read wildlife books, nature magazines and encyclopedias. Research the habits and habitat of the animals with which you feel a special kinship. For example, if you feel that the wolf is your ally, by researching their habits in the wild, you’ll discover that they have a strong sense of family. Thus, having a wolf for your ally may increase your connection to your family. It’s Time to Cast Off Shame Judith Albright

H

ow many times have you heard someone say, “Shame on you!” or, “You should be ashamed of yourself”? Maybe you heard these words yourself when you were growing up. For countless years adults have used guilt and shame to control children and keep them in line. Unfortunately this is still happening today and is being passed on to yet another generation. The effects, both then and now, are long-lasting and destructive. Being shamed as a child often creates a lifelong negative belief that one is a “bad” person, somehow flawed and not good enough. When we believe this, the basic needs of our inner child remains unmet. The result is a chronic state of anxiety, fear, shame, anger, emotional isolation and despair that can follow us into adulthood. When the adults in our life can’t be counted on to provide love, support and safety we may continue to grow physically but a part of our emotional growth and development either slows down or is arrested. During childhood (and as adults too) we are easily wounded by constant shaming, criticism, judgment and rejection. In an attempt to protect ourselves from being hurt again, we start squelching our natural tendencies to be open, loving and trusting. We build walls around our vulnerable inner child. Our self-esteem

and sense of worth plummets. Author and therapist John Bradshaw states that when the inner child is left alone, unrecognized, unloved and therefore unhealed a person will inevitably contaminate his or her life as an adult. Many recurring emotional problems in adulthood, including bullying, substance abuse and addiction, are an indication that the wounded inner child is still scared and searching for comfort. According to clinical psychologist Gershen Kaufman, “Shame is the most destructive of human emotions.” And yet it’s universal. Psychotherapist and author Beverly Engel agrees, and goes one step further by stating that shame is the core issue of addiction and is often the underlying cause of other serious issues such as suicide and depression. Shame is often confused with guilt; what is the difference? According to Webster’s Dictionary, shame is “a condition of humiliating disgrace or disrepute.” Shame is a deep feeling of personal unworthiness and inadequacy. It has been described as the distress people feel when they fail to live up to the expectations of others, or the remorse and/or humiliation they feel when they think they have done something inexcusable or have let others down. On the other hand, guilt is feeling badly about something we did wrong or neglected to do, for which our conscience bothers us. Are you still being controlled and kept in line with guilt and shame? If so, you have been a prisoner long enough. It is time to break the pattern. Now that consciousness throughout the world is shifting, more and more people are determined to cast off the weight of

shame that has been passed from generation to generation. Allow yourself to be among them. Now is the time to reclaim your power and stop defining yourself by other people’s opinions. Did you ever consider that those who judged you so harshly might be wrong? Did you ever think that the issues used to shame you might belong to your accusers and not you? Isn’t it time to stop giving these people free rent in your head? How might you do this? Start thinking of shame as an old tattered coat that is worn out and needs to be discarded. Stop re-hashing past events — let them go. Stop focusing on yourself and your perceived inadequacies and start looking for ways you can be of service to others. You can pay it forward or fill a need wherever you see one. Always be kind. When you can see the visible results of your efforts and feel good about what you are doing and how you are living, there is little

Sacred Space:

Shrine of Sainte Anne Phyllis K. Kennemer

To enter a Basilica is to enter a sacred place where an atmosphere of peace reigns. It is the House of God. Let us discover this place whose decoration is like a history book, a sacred history, our history. From the website of the Shrine of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupre www.sactuairesaintanne.org

ntering the Basilica of Sainte-Annede-Beaupre transports the individual into an inspiring atmosphere of art and beauty. Magnificent sculptures, carvings, tiles, and windows all combine to lift the spirit and touch the soul. I wandered around, absorbed in the exquisite splendor of the place. Then I sat in a back pew for the beginning of the mass, which was conducted in French and I didn’t understand a word, but I felt a part of the glorious energy of this sacred space. I knew that this cathedral would be special when our guide told us of its miraculous beginning as our bus traveled through scenic countryside along the Saint Lawrence River in Quebec. She told us that we were heading toward a treacherous part of the river which had been the site of devastating ship wrecks during the colonization of what was then New France. In 1658, a ship was caught in a severe storm. The crew cried out to Sainte Anne, the Saint of Sailors, to

come to their rescue. In their prayers they promised that if they survived, they would construct a church in her honor. They were thrown onto the shore and they fulfilled their promise by building a church where they landed. The original building, completed in 1676, has been replaced several times and is now the site of a magnificent cathedral built of cut stone. Another miracle occurred with the building of the present church. Louis Guimont, an inhabitant of Beaupre who suffered from a debilitating form of rheumatism, came forward and placed three stones in the foundation of the new building. He was suddenly and completely healed of his ailment. Since that time, thousands of diseased and disabled people have traveled to the Shrine of Sainte Anne. Many have added their crutches, walking sticks and bandages to huge piles of similar items as they have walked away fully healed. It is estimated that about a half-million pilgrims visit this holy place every year.

Although little is known about the life of Saint Anne, the Church has recognized and worshiped her for centuries as the mother of Mary and the grandmother of Jesus. The entire ceiling mosaic of the Basilica tells the story of her life, depicting a Jewish woman living in that era. It shows her as a woman of many virtues and illustrates her glorification. The life of Jesus is represented in beautiful stained glass windows and carvings throughout the sanctuary. The lower chapel, painted and decorated in shades of the color blue, is devoted to Mary. Dedicated and talented architects and artists spent many years of their lives creating this magnificent shrine. They filled it with symbols, metaphors and history for all generations. Dr. Phyllis K. Awakenings

Shipibo Shamanism in the Jungles of Peru Katherine Skaggs

Nine years ago I stumbled across the shamanic path in search of healing after a shocking event in my life. Though I had been on a deep spiritual, mystical path for over 20 years already, something different was in need. My inner yearning led me to a four-day healing retreat in New Mexico with some multi-cultural, shamanic teachers. Oh yes, did I say, I also met two Peruvian jungle shamans and was enamored enough to want more experiences with them. Unbeknownst to me, my entire life was about to take an incredible shift in course.

A

s a result, I have traveled to the jungles of Peru to apprentice with the Shipibo the past eight years; I’ve been initiated into the Shipibo plant medicine diets, ceremonies and shamanic-based healing practices. Each experience has helped me restore balance and joy into my life.

Shamanism Shamanism is an ancient earth-based spiritual practice, experience and cosmology, drawing upon the energy and wisdom of Spirit that lives within the natural world.

22 BellaSpark • January/February 2016 • www.BellaSparkMagazine.com

Shamanism dates back as far as 25,000 years and is considered the first spiritual practice on earth. Basic premises of shamanism are: 1. Everything is alive and has spirit, consciousness and awareness. 2. Energy and matter are the same. Everything is vibration. Everything has an energy system, and exists within a greater energy system. 3. Everything is connected within a web of energy or life.

4. There is an unseen/inner/spiritual world that affects the seen world of ordinary reality.

The Shipibo People The Shipibo are a shamanic artisanal people one of 14 indigenous tribes living in the Amazon Basin of Peru. They have a deep connection to the natural world and are particularly known for their healing songs, or icaros; their woven song clothes (artwork expressing the visual form of the icaros); understanding and use of the plant medicines in the jungles; and their famous soul healing brew of Ayahuasca. They know that everything is energy. Life giving energy is known as Sami (like prana or chi). Sami exists in all of nature and is what restores balance. Energy that creates illness and lack of harmony is man-made and is called hucha. Fear responses, trauma, anger, jealousy, insecurities and fright are all examples of hucha. When it is stuck in your energy field you become imbalanced and ultimately your physical body becomes sick. The Shipibo use sacred song, plant medicines and other healing processes, such as extraction work, to release the

Personal responsibility and inner work is always required in healing. Many westerners travel to the jungles of Peru today to work with the Shipibo to heal what are considered difficult to heal illnesses in our medical world. Challenges from depression, alcoholism and drug addiction to cancer send people to the jungle to find answers and healing. It is the ancient cultural and spiritual wisdom, plant medicines, shamanic healing practices and particularly the ayahuasca tea that calls these travelers. When one heeds the call, you can be assured a shift towards balance is about to occur. (Sidenote: if you want to travel to Peru, or any country to work with Shamans, get a reputable referral!! New Perspectives

Breaking Down the Wall Around Your Heart Nick Kidawski

Breaking up with a boyfriend or girlfriend… Experiencing the loss of a loved one… Wanting to follow your heart, but…

H

ave you been through one or more of these in the past? If so, maybe you feel an emotional heaviness in your chest as if your heart is breaking. It can be a challenge to go through your day, feeling as if you can’t open to love again, or follow your heart’s passion. All of these situations can bring up challenging emotions that can deeply affect your heart. If this happens too many times, you can build an energetic “wall” around your heart protecting you from further heartache or assault. This “Heart Wall” was discovered by chiropractor Dr. Bradley Nelson and described in his book The Emotion Code. In this article, I’ll explain what a “Heart Wall” is and share with you a few simple steps you can take so that your heart can start to heal and you can return to wholeness.

The “Heart Wall” If the heart has been hurt or wounded in some way, especially if it happens repeatedly, the emotions that we feel can literally become “trapped” around our heart forming a “Heart Wall”. This “Heart Wall” can make you feel emotionally numb, you may have a difficult time connecting to others or entering into romantic relationships, and it can block your heart energy from freely flowing through your body. You may also notice physical symptoms as well — tightness in the chest, lowered immunity, difficulty breathing or neck and shoulder tension. When the “Heart Wall” is released, people will say it’s as if they can finally feel again. They are able to receive love they haven’t been able to in a long time. The physical symptoms mentioned above may also start to improve.

Removing the Heart Wall Brick by Brick “Until the Heart Wall is taken down, you’ll be trapped behind it to some degree, less able to reach out and connect to other people, even the people you love the most.” ~ Dr. Bradley Nelson, author of The Emotion Code So, how do you remove the trapped emotions surrounding

your heart so that you can let go of emotional pain? Here are a few techniques that have helped me as well as clients I have worked with. Self-Acupressure — Acupressure is the application of finger pressure on certain areas of the body to help release energetic blockages. You can read more about specific acupressure points in my Bella Spark article, Emotions Spinning Out of Control? Acupressure Can Help in the May/June 2015 issue. Access your Internal Resources — A resource is anything that helps us feel safe or at ease. When going through emotional challenges it’s important to reconnect with these internal resources as they often become overwhelmed. Bring your attention to an area of your body that feels comfortable to be with. It could be your hand, a finger or a toe. How does your body tell you that area feels? Is it comfortable? Does it feel warm or relaxed? Stay with that sensation for 5 minutes. Next, move your attention to your heart just for a second and notice how it feels. Then, bring your attention down to the area that feels comfortable. Moving your attention back and forth several times between your heart and the comfortable area helps your body release blocked emotional energy in the heart. Find professional help — Counselors, psychotherapists, somatic bodyworkers or a Certified Emotion Code Practitioner can help you release the trapped emotional energy that you may be carrying around your heart. A “Heart Wall” can stop you from living a happy, joyful life. The importance of clearing the “Heart Wall” cannot be overestimated. In doing so, you will be able to move forward, heal from loss or past relationships and live your life to the fullest! Conscious Power Tapping the Power of our Higher Consciousness Les Jensen

The movies have shown us countless times a hero representing “good” sparring in an epic battle with some villain looking to trash humanity. This longstanding mythology also implies that there is a hidden power within history’s Great Masters, affording them the ability to ward off any evil-doers. Yet here we are today, waiting for the hero to make a grand appearance.

P

erhaps what we are really waiting for is the ability to master our own authentic power. Maybe the new paradigm represents a legion of masters arising out of our collective story. And perhaps, just perhaps, one of them is you. It is a timeless story, really. Those legends who have mastered this paradigm have become part of our own human story on Earth. Could it be that the same potential exists within you? All signs say “Yes.” Jesus even said, “You can do everything I have done, and more.” This new idea of power involves part inspiration and part purity. This new arena of thought also includes quantum physics and sacred geometry. Indeed, these are vehicles of power expressed. However, there is one more component needed in order for each of us to embody the master experience. And that is to embody our own Divine Power. Power flows best when balanced and pure. The first step in manifestation begins in the feminine, as the answer to our intent or prayer. The pure energy of the solution is then presented. The masculine then comes into play to bring the manifestation into form. A pure masculine persona can take the energetic imprint from the feminine and create the physical manifestation of it. When you blend the sacred geometry of the feminine with the quantum field of

the masculine both of these attributes together make the whole process much more succinct. Let’s get back to our story of a Master being born. If we look at history, no masters waved their wands to transform whole cities into some sort of glowing utopia. For example, Gandhi did not repel the British in a single moment. There wasn’t one single event that enlightened the world, rather a series of actions over time that created change. When we look at your story of becoming a powerful person, it will show up best in the wake that you leave. The authentic power in you is tireless and indestructible. It exists at your very core, awaiting your desire to understand it and master it. It is your very purity that will ramp up the power level in which you are able to proceed in your life. And this is where the unresolved energy within your own personal energy persona comes into play. Like film that has been partially exposed, you cannot capture the purity of your divine inspiration unless your own personal energy is pure. That is the

doorway to living the “master’s tale.” Begin with your heart. Purify it by unconditionally loving every facet of humanity. Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall know God (creation). Understand that the infinite potential that allowed the villain to create torment and fury is the exact same potential you have used to create the life that you have right now. To the universe, the two of you are identical, so accept your role in this big picture of our human story now. Trust in your ability to leverage the universe on more powerful levels. There is no end to the power you will regain as you purify and cleanse your own heart’s ability to love. The infinite nature of Divine Love is always within you seeking a portal of expression in you, through you, as you. It’s time to awaken the Master in You! Working in broadcast television with energy emitted from high-power transmitters, Les grasped the language he would use in his spiritual writings. His book, “Citizen King: The New Age of Power,” guides readers to live authentically and powerfully to fulfill the vision of their heart and soul. To purchase, visit www.NewHumanLiving.com.

Green Intentions Donna Mazzitelli

Another turn of the wheel into a new year! This is the time to contemplate how we want to approach the year ahead, and the perfect time to set intentions and proclaim to the Universe the conscious actions and behaviors we intend to practice or adopt in the New Year. consider each action I take throughout the day and determine its impact on the earth, my community, my family, and myself. 2. I will shop locally, supporting local businesses in my community and locally-made products. This includes food purchases and my support of local growers and local restaurants. 3. I will ask for a non-disposable cup, mug or glass when I go to a tea shop or coffeehouse. Alternatively, I will bring my own cup or mug along and use it. When I plan to stay at the

location, there is no need for me to use disposable paper cups and plastic lids. 4. I will make donations to organizations that support, preserve and work to improve the environment. I will research to find organizations that are focused on environmental issues to ensure that a large percentage of the donations they receive go directly to vital programs. 5. I will reduce my at-home water usage by seeking out ways to conserve water. I will search out websites such as www.wateruseitwisely.com and organizations that offer suggestions for conscious actions. 6. I will use a BPA-free plastic container or a reusable stainless steel water bottle that has a BPA-free liner. I will buy a bottle from a local store or vendor or online via companies such as www.kleankanteen.com. 7. I will stop using disposable plastic bags at the grocery store AND at department stores. I will keep bags available in my

toxic products in my home, including those products I choose for cleaning my home and my personal care needs. I will become more informed about what harmful chemicals are in products so that I can eliminate their use. 10. I will pay my bills online AND eliminate junk mail. Going to paperless billing saves trees and eliminates the fossil fuel needed to mail those billing envelopes. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency estimates that “44 percent of junk mail is discarded without being opened or read, equaling four million tons of waste paper per year, with just 32 percent recovered for recycling.” You can stop 75 percent of unsolicited mail by registering at the Direct Marketing Association website (https://www.dmachoice.org/). Within 90 days, most unsolicited mail will stop.

When I do need to shop, including at the grocery store, I will use a list and stick to it. car, purse or backpack. I will acquire reusable bags from the stores I support or via online companies such as www.reuseit.com or www.envirosax.com. 8. I will become aware of the foods I purchase at grocery stores and in restaurants. I will buy products with the Non-GMO Project label or those that specifically state they do not contain GMOs. I will do my best to order dishes in restaurants made with organic ingredients, wild-caught fish, and ethically-raised meat. 9. I will use less, or eliminate all use of

BONUS: I will strive to avoid over-consumerism. Before I make a purchase, I will ask myself whether I need something or want it. When I do need to shop, including at the grocery store, I will use a list and stick to it. And when I go out to eat, I will avoid super-sized anything. It’s better for the planet and my waistline!

ALAN ROETTINGER

Fiery Comfort inWinter Alan Roettinger

W

inter has never been my thing. I’m a man who feels most comfortable wearing only a sarong, a pair of sandals, and sunglasses. Yet somehow I ended up living on the side of a mountain in Colorado, which is a tale too long for this page. I’ve since acquired the close friendship of a roaring fire, a hot tub and a hearty meal. Fortunately, a deeply warming and satisfying dish is surprisingly easy to make when you set your mind to it. Give me a bowl of steaming spaghetti, and I’m one contented paesan. Speaking of spaghetti, a few years ago I discovered brown rice pasta, which is a boon to lovers of Italian food who wish to avoid wheat products. My wife is such a person. It’s the only alternative pasta I’ve encountered that holds its shape, cooks up al dente, and has a reasonably agreeable taste. Let’s not fool ourselves; despite its name, this is not exactly a whole grain, but it does satisfy my requirements adequately, and a wise warrior doesn’t take on too many challenges at once. My wife is an amazing gardener, and she manages to supply me with fresh herbs well into the winter, from pots she positions near east-facing windows. This is about more than just keeping the cook happy. Fresh herbs are incomparable for adding a bright flavor note, and in the freezing months they’re marvelous ambassadors of summer. Their color alone is warming.

Penne All’arabbiata Makes 4 servings The basil here is heresy. True Penne All’arabbiata is made with parsley, if anything at all. However, I made it once this way for my son, and it was so slurping good, I’ve done so ever since. “All’arabbiata” means “rabid style,” referring to the searing heat imparted by the chiles, so be prepared. Chiles are anti-inflammatory, and good for your immune system. They also have the potential of lifting you into an endorphin-induced stupor, which is always fun. 3 1/2 teaspoons sea salt 6 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil 7 cloves garlic, thinly sliced

28 BellaSpark • January/February 2016 • www.BellaSparkMagazine.com

4 dried red chiles, or 2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes 4 cups crushed peeled and seeded tomatoes, with juice 1/2 cup packed basil leaves, coarsely chopped Freshly ground black pepper, to taste 1 pound brown rice penne Place a large pot of water over high heat and add 3 teaspoons of the salt. While the water is coming to a boil, prepare the sauce. Put 1/4 cup (4 tablespoons) of the oil, the garlic, and the chiles in a large, heavy pot over medium-high heat. Shake the pot back and forth to keep the garlic and chiles moving. As soon as the garlic has turned a light tan color, add the tomatoes and remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt. Cook, stirring often, until the liquid has reduced to a light, pulpy sauce. This should take no more than 10 minutes; the sauce should have a very fresh tomato flavor. Remove from the heat and stir in the basil and a little of the pepper. Taste and adjust the seasoning, as needed. When the water is boiling, add the pasta and stir well to prevent sticking. Cook until the pasta is just tender, but still firm to the bite, about 7 minutes. Immediately drain, reserving a little of the cooking liquid, and return to the pot. Stir in the remaining 2 tablespoons olive oil, shaking the pot to coat the pasta well. Add the sauce and heat through, shaking the pan to combine thoroughly. If the sauce is too thick, stir in a splash of the reserved cooking liquid. Serve at once. JORDAN DANZ

Don’t Give Winter Vegetables a Bad Rap Jordan Danz

I

think that winter vegetables get a bad rap. They are eaten more out of necessity than desire because our selection severely dwindles as the temperatures drop. Spring, summer and early fall bring a large selection of bright, colorful and fresh tasting fruits and vegetables. They are vibrant and delicious but temporary. Winter vegetables, on the other hand, are earthy, resilient and earthen colored. They are mostly roots and thick skinned squash, but their flavors are deeper, bolder and more complex. It is these qualities that I believe make them exciting. Unfortunately, most of the recipes that include winter vegetables are soups, stews or salads. People rarely make them the star of the show, but rather use them as accoutrements to bring out their earthy, aromatic qualities. Because they are also heartier, they can stand up to the longer cooking times. I wanted to showcase the flavor of winter vegetables and make them the star of a dish, allowing their individual flavors to come through.

In this Winter Vegetable Tart I use the sweetness of carrots with the spiciness of turnips to balance each other, but still let the individual flavors of each truly pop. I also didn’t want them to be cooked into mush; I wanted to retain some of the crunchy texture of vegetables. I think that this recipe shows the versatility of winter vegetables. The best part is that you can replace any of the ingredients with your favorite winter vegetable.

Winter Vegetable Tart

Prep Vegetables: Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add leaks and sage and cook until beginning to soften, about 4 minutes. Add another tablespoon of olive oil, kale salt and pepper. Cook until kale is wilted, about 4 more minutes. Remove from pan and set aside to cool. Place carrots and turnips in 2 separate medium bowls. To each bowl

Winter vegetables, on the other hand, are earthy, resilient and earthen colored.

1 sheet puff pastry, thawed ½ bunch kale, chopped 2 leeks, cut in half lengthwise and sliced into half moons 3–4 carrots, peeled and thinly sliced* 3–4 turnips, peeled and thinly sliced* 3 tablespoons fresh sage, finely chopped 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, finely chopped 2 teaspoons fresh thyme leaves, finely chopped 4 tablespoons olive oil 1 egg ½ cup balsamic vinegar

*Tip: Use a mandolin or the slicing attachment on a food processor to get a nice thin cut on carrots and turnips. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and preheat oven to 400 degrees. Prep Tart Crust: On a lightly floured surface, carefully roll out the Puff Pastry to about 12” x 9”. Cut a 1 inch rectangular strip of pastry from each side of the pastry so you are left with an 11” x 8” sheet and set aside. Crack the egg into a small bowl, add about 2 teaspoons of water and whisk. Brush the egg wash around each side. Place the cut strips of pastry around the edge over the egg wash which will act as a glue. Place prepared tart crust on sheet pan with parchment and set aside.

add 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 tablespoon sage, 1 tablespoon rosemary, 1 tablespoon of thyme and salt and pepper. Toss each to coat. Make Balsamic Reduction: Heat Balsamic vinegar in a small sauce pan over medium high heat until it has reduced by about two thirds, stirring occasionally. Set aside and let cook and thicken. Assemble and Bake Tart: Once leek and kale mixture is cooled, place directly onto tart making sure to keep it off the double layer strip on the edge. Layer the leek and kale mixture on top of the vegetables in any pattern you want. Brush the edges of pastry with remaining egg wash. Place tart in oven and bake until vegetables are cooked just soft and crust is puffed up and golden brown, about 30-40 minutes. Once out, drizzle Balsamic Reduction over the top of the tart. Cut into pieces and serve warm or room temperature. Jordan is a home cook based in Minneapolis. He enjoys cooking, eating and spending time at his local food co-ops and farmers’ markets finding new flavors and ingredients to experiment with. His passion for fresh local ingredients inspires his belief that food has the power to bring people together.

The Forgotten Key to Letting Go Blake D. Bauer

It is never easy to let go of someone you love. Change is often harder than we want to admit. Whether it's death, divorce or another form of separation, trying to move on brings grief and sadness for the joy and connection that's passed, or for the unresolved hurt and misunderstanding we've felt. But we would not be on the edge of release if it were not meant to be for our highest good.

Whether it's death, divorce or another form of separation, trying to move on brings grief and sadness for the joy and connection that's passed. Sometimes a person outgrows us. Sometimes it’s just

underlying fears and insecurities must be healed for us to truly be healthy, happy and free. In my personal life as well as my professional work with thousands of people, I have found that there is only one effective approach to letting go. This often forgotten key entails becoming clear about what we actually want in life now, expressing it to the Universe or God, and moving toward it while focusing our time and energy on what makes us feel good, alive and well each day. We have to train ourselves to choose activities and relationships

Either way we are forced to befriend the parts of us we have abandoned, rejected or denied in exchange for love, comfort or companionship. We are challenged to step into the unknown and to trust this is as it is meant to be. We are all asked by life, the universe and God to come home to ourselves eventually, whether it's through the death of a relationship or in our physical death. this process, every unresolved emotion, limiting belief or incomplete situation that needs to be transformed will naturally surface to be addressed when the time is right. Your only task becomes feeling everything that’s present, regardless of how painful or scary, and then making a conscious choice to speak and act honestly, kindly and respectfully based on your heart’s truth and instinct. You're the only person who can give yourself permission to live fully before your time comes to let go of your body in this lifetime. Creating a New Earth Donna Visocky

You have been here before, a part of the circle of life on this planet earth for eons and eons. You are the players, the game changers, the creators. You have seen and experienced much, yet you still return, for there is nowhere else in the Universe such as this. Some may call it a game, and that it true. Others call it Earth School — also true. It is but one of many opportunities for a soul to grow and evolve. There are rules to this game, instructions for this school, in this particular time-space continuum, that are different from those of others. Just as earth games such as Monopoly or Trivia Pursuit have their own set of rules such is true for the Game of Life on Earth. You came here for the excitement, the thrill, the adventure and the pure joy of physicality.

S

o here you are, playing the Game of Life, attending Earth School, just as you have lifetime after lifetime. Always growing and expanding as you move from kindergarten to grade school to high school and college. Earth is a fascinating place. You are faced with duality – dark and light, good and bad, up and down. And the most difficult aspect of all, you forget who you are and where you came from. You incarnate on this planet, time and time again that you may learn and experience all this school has to offer (the good, the bad and the ugly) as you evolve your soul. And the one final lesson, to Wake UP, to remember who you are – a Divine Spark of God. To find your way out of the darkness into the light. To find your way home. Now is the time. Never before have so many souls clamored to come here. And here you are – old soul that you are – on the final leg of the journey – waking up to the realization that you are more than a body that lives and dies – that

you are a magnificent aspect of God/Spirit itself. This is a most auspicious time. For never before have human beings made such gigantic leaps forward. Never before has the planet shifted its vibration in such a big way. The entire Universe has been watching you as you have released and cleared and transmuted life-times of old patterns, beliefs and karma. Many thought it could not be done, but you showed

them. Soul after soul, whether consciously knowing it or not, said yes. “We can and will do this. We will shift and transmute the energies of this planet. We will create the new earth.” Each person comes into this world with a specific destiny — has something to fulfill, some message to be delivered, some work to be completed. You are not here accidentally — you are here meaningfully. There is a purpose behind you. The whole intends to do something through you. Yes, you are the co-creators of the New Earth. Hold the vision of a kinder, gentler world always. Not only envision the peace you wish to see in the world, but live it, be it, every moment of every day. Each time you become more whole and more loving, you help humanity as a whole and raise consciousness across the planet. Do not underestimate the power of this. Today may you remember who you are and walk in your essence of God.

Kristi’s Wish 2015 Thank you Schrader Oil for another successful year.
