COE Technology Showcase October 10, 2012
The 2nd Annual Technology Showcase features presentations related to technology in education from COE faculty, students, alumni, FSUS colleagues, FSU Office of Distance Learning, and guest speakers. Join us for exciting presentations on using SMART (board, interactive projector, 3D doc cam, and table), 3D technologies, LiveScribe Pens, Braille embosser, various assistive technologies, Turning Technologies response cards, remote observation of teaching with AXIS, and various other software and hardware facilitating learning, teaching, assessment, and research in education. A winner of the STB 3201 naming competition announced STB 3201 guided tours provided A winner of the video contest Responsible Digital Citizenship announced Technology related games, competitions, and fun activities in 1301 and 1302 STB (start at the top of the hour 9am-5pm; see details below).
At the top of the hour, 9 am -5 pm: games, competitions, and fun activities. All COE technology showcase participants and attendees are invited! Texting contest (accuracy and speed will evaluated): Test your texting ability in this fast pace game of dueling thumbs! All you need is your cell phone! Just like in the classic game, “Telephone” you will be given a phrase that you must relay back to the judges. Bring your friends to the Learning Resource Center study room (STB 1302) to claim the title as the fastest texter in the COE along with a COE prize! Name that sound: In a world full of growing technologies, there are a few iconic sounds that most of us recognize and then some that we have forgotten (or wish we never knew!). Test your knowledge of these noises from technology present and past! You and your friends can compete in the Learning Resource Center study room (STB 1302) and see how well you listen to the technology that surrounds you.
