Let’s Orange the World
The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) runs every year from 25 November (International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) to 10 December (Human Rights Day), with the theme ‘Orange the World’. This United Nations campaign calls for global action to increase awareness.

Violence against women and children is one of the most prevalent forms of human rights abuse in the world. GBV knows no class, no creed and no race, and it is estimated that 1 in 5 women will experience intimate partner violence in their lifetime.
In addition to physical violence, abuse can also take the form of emotional, economic, psychological, sexual and cultural abuse. Although these forms of abuse may not leave physical scarring, the trauma suffered has long-lasting effects on the victim and society as a whole.
