First of I would like to take a moment to thank everyone who helped to make last year’s sale such a success. We look forward to seeing new customers, as well as returning customers, join us for the 14th installment of the Foundation Female Sale. The 2010 year has been very challenging in Roseville, Illinois. We experienced extremely wet conditions. But despite these setbacks, the cattle market has never been better. We as cattle producers should seize this opportunity. I think there is no better time than now to reduce older females and replace them with young, new genetics. We have many outstanding features in the 14th Annual Foundation Female Sale. We will be offering the best herd bull possibilities in the country, and they are Lot 1 and Lot 2. Another highlight of this Sale is Queens Valentine. No donor cow in the Simmental breed is more established than Queens Valentine. Overall this year we will be offering an elite group of bred heifers and some of the best show prospects to be sold in 2010. In addition to the Foundation Female sale, we will also be holding the 2nd Annual Rare Semen and Embryo Auction Saturday evening. This sale will be featuring some of the best embryos out of the leading donor cows in the industry. The sale will also be offering some of the most valuable semen lots that you will find all fall. Our sale is a very unique offering of 72 of the most elite breeders in the United States bring their best to Roseville. Terms of the Sale & Guarantees

Cattle sell per the terms & conditions of their breed associations. Announcements from the Auction Block on Sale Day regarding the cattle selling in this sale will take precedence over the information printed in this catalog. No cattle will be loaded until paid for. Terms are cash, check with proper ID (i.e. Driver’s license) or Master Card/Visa will be accepted with a 3% fee. For example, if you are the successful bidder at $1,000 and you charge your purchase using your credit card. Your credit card statement will show a payment of $1,030 to the Foundation Female Sale. A 2% per month interest charge will be added on all outstanding account balances. If you can’t attend the sale, contact one of the owners or consultants for information regarding our sight unseen buyer guarantee. We will arrange for a member of the sale staff to discuss the cattle with you. Bidding can be done via phone or by a confidental bid prior to the sale. Please call between September 1st - September 4th to obtain a bidder number. We will arrange to have someone call you when the lot(s) you are interested in, enters the sale ring. Please note that our sale will start on time and will move quickly, so be prepared to make your bids promptly.

Trucking

We will assist you with your trucking arrangements no matter how many head you purchase. If you purchase 10 head or more, we will guarantee that the buyer will spend no more than $200 per lot purchased to have the cattle trucked (If the trucking bill comes to over $200 per lot we will pay the additional cost).

We are very proud of the fact that the cattle purchased in this sale go home to operations who truly value the genetics, and quality of the cattle that have been offered in the past. Over the course of the past 14 years quite a few success stories have been told about Foundation Females. Here are just a few examples of what our customers have reported back to us. Maxi Belle was purchased by Todd Line in a past Foundation Female Sale, and was then resold to Jones Show Cattle. She is now one of the feature donors at Jones Show Cattle and has produced thousands of dollars in progeny sales for the Jones Family.

Missouri State Fair Steer - The Champion Steer at the 2005 Missouri State fair was purchased for $4,000 at our sale and was later resold for $20,000.

Jirl Buck - At the 2009 Sale Jirl Buck bought a very elite group of fall bred heifers and then Joe Seale - Joe purchased Lot 192 in the 13th re-sold them 60 days later in his production Annual Foundation Female Sale. He later re- sale for a very nice return on his money. Ask sold the female for double the purchase price. Jirl how it worked out. Herd Health

The buyer has within 21 days following the sale to re-pregnancy test their purchase(s). All bred females have been examined safe in calf by Dr. Huston, and sell that way. If any animals are found open within those 21 days you must notify Bob at once for an adjustment to be made. All animals have been tested as required by a licensed veterinarian for the selling in the State of Illinois and are selling subject to the various health requirements of the state to which they are destined. All females are OCV’s unless stated otherwise. Actual herd health programs will be included on the supplement sheet provided during the sale weekend. Genetic Testing

Updated genetic test results will be available sale week on the Supplement Sheet. Results found on the supplement sheet will take precedence over statements made in this catalog.

Sexed Semen Guarantees

Due to the fact that sexed semen purchased only guarantees the chances of a heifer being 90%, we will not be able to guarantee that a heifer will result from the pregnancy. We do however guarantee that sexed semen was used on the lots listed as such.

Embryo Guarantees

All embryo lots being sold with a guarantee are only guaranteed if a certified embryologist performs all embryo work.

Registrations

Please leave a name for transfer at the clerk’s table, or call/e-mail Cathy Dwyer within the week after the sale. Guest consignors frequently transfer cattle personally; Cathy passes on all transfer information to the responsible parties. We will make every effort to assist you in obtaining your paper, but you must notify us the week following the sale.

Airport Locations

For those who wish to travel by plane, the Peoria and Moline airports are located 60 miles from Roseville. There is also an airport in Monmouth, IL, no commercial airlines, but is available for private planes, call before the Sale and we will have some one pick you up in Monmouth.

Livestock Judging Contest

We would like to welcome everyone to the Third Annual Foundation Female Sale Livestock Judging Contest, sponsored by the Western Illinois University Hoof’n’Horn club. Contest will be held Saturday September 4th, 2010 check in will start at 8:30 am CST. This contest will be open to all individuals aged 8 to 18, and free of charge. Lunch will be furnished to all participants and their sponsors. Teams and individuals will be placed in two separate divisions based on age. The Junior division will consist of participants ranging in age from 8-12 years old. While Senior division participants range in age from 13-18 years old. We will have approximately 7 class of cattle to be evaluated. Trophies or plaques will be given to the top 5 teams in each division and top 10 individuals in each division. Contest is free of charge, for all participants and open to any individual under 19 years of age. Please forward all questions and entry information toward Mark Hoge’s email.
