Lake Titicaca, the Sacred Valley, and the cities of Lima and Cusco are among some of the most incredible attractions, while experiencing the Peruvian traditionalisms

in small villages, local restaurants and markets will give you an authentic excursion that you won’t forget in a hurry. For the most part, the weather in Peru is pleasant and warm, with June to August being the dry season in the Andean highlands and the eastern rainforest while December to February sees rain in the highlands and the closure of the Inca Trail for clean up.


A Picture Perfect Peru Tour with Mac ITINERARY DAY 1 Upon arrival in Lima, a representative will meet you at the airport. You will then be privately transferred to Hotel José Antonio Miraflores, and you will enjoy the rest of the day in Lima at your leisure. LIMA Lima is Peru’s thriving capital and is the largest city in the country, lying on the Pacific coast. Known as the City of Kings, there is certainly no such thing as boredom when it comes to this Peruvian gem whether you’re a foodie, a culture vulture, or an adventure-seeker. Lima has gained a stellar reputation in terms of gastronomy, and is home to a myriad of world-renowned chefs as well as being the only city in the world to have two restaurants in the top 10 ranking of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants. The beaches here are the ideal spot for lounging on the sands while the waves are perfect for those who want to try their hand at surfing and other watersports. The beautiful colonial museums, the historical catacombs, the breath-taking architecture of Plaza de Armas and the bustling local markets are all among the must-sees in the beautiful Lima metropolis.

A Picture Perfect Peru Tour with Mac ITINERARY DAY 2 After breakfast, you will take an internal flight to Cusco, where a representative will meet you at the airport to privately transfer you to your hotel, Costa Ramada Del Sol. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. COSTA RAMADA DEL SOL Stunningly decorated in Inca and Colonial artwork, Costa Ramada Del Sol is located in a former monastery and boasts a beautiful courtyard for the utmost serenity in the heart of the bustling city. The thriving Plaza de Armas is less than five minutes away and the charming cobbled street of Calle Santa Teresa is also a short distance from the hotel, where you’ll find a strip of restaurants and stores for your convenience. Relaxation of the highest order is promised at the Costa Ramada Del Sol, and guests can find areas scattered with comfortable sofas, board games and books, while the hotel also has an on-site restaurant, Paprika. DAY 3 After breakfast, you’ll spend the day on a city tour of Cusco. Beginning at the centre, you’ll view the Incan foundations of many buildings, the famous cathedral, and the Temple of the Sun. Before the tour concludes, you’ll visit the typical market of San Pedro, as well as the hills around Cusco for a full observation of the ruins. You’ll then by transported back to your hotel.

CUSCO A welcome refuge for backpackers and the former centre of the Inca Empire, Cusco lies high up in the Peruvian Andes and is a wellknown starting point for Machu Picchu. The city boasts an exceptional display of archaeological remains and Spanish colonial architecture, while the Incan wall ruins located at the Plaza de Arms in the central square provide an essential glimpse into Peruvian history. The San Blas District is also notable for its architecture and sublime stores and galleries, but those who want to experience Cusco’s nightlife should head back to the main square after dark for a thriving selection of bars and clubs.

Here, you’ll experience the colonial traditionalisms before visiting a market to interact with local artisans and purchase handmade souvenirs. After a buffet lunch (payable locally), it’s time to visit Ollantaytambo, which has been virtually unchanged from the time of the Inca Empire. Your final stop will be the Chinchero market, an area that is believed to be the birthplace of the rainbow, before being dropped off at the Hotel Agustos Urubamba for an overnight stay.

After a journey of approximately 90 minutes aboard a lovely expedition train, you will arrive in Aguas Calientes, also known as the Hot Springs Town. Then, you will take the bus to the Machu Picchu archaeological site for a guided walking tour. After this, you can enjoy time at your leisure to explore the beautiful city on your own accord. You will be transported to Jaya Hotel for an overnight stay, a hotel that is rated number one in Aguas Calientes by TripAdvisor. PERURAIL EXPEDITION TRAIN Cruising through the beauty of the Andean landscape, the PeruRail Expedition train travels from Machu Picchu to Poroy Station in Cusco. MACHU PICCHU A UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, Machu Picchu is arguably Peru’s most famous attraction and is undoubtedly a bucket list destination. Virtually undiscovered until the early 20th century to protect the site from the conquering Spaniards, Machu Picchu boasts an extension of 37,302 hectares, as well as the greatest biodiversity in Peru. The access point to Machu Picchu is the town of Aguas Calientes, which is not accessible by car, and the site offers a variety of trekking options with the most popular being the Inca trail. This four-day expedition highlights the original paved Inca pathways and provides exceptional views of the entire national park, although a portion of the landmark can also be explored in a shorter amount of time.



DAY 6 After breakfast, spend the morning at your leisure. Alternatively, you can spend the day on an optional second visit to Macchu Picchu (extra charge). In the afternoon, you will board an expedition train back to Poroy and be transported back to the Costa Ramada Del Sol in Cusco.


A Picture Perfect Peru Tour with Mac ITINERARY DAY 7 After an early breakfast, you will be transported to Moray, which is also known as “The Inca agricultural greenhouse or laboratory�. Here, you will admire the fascinating displays of the amphitheatrelike terraces that were made by the Incas, and are carved deep into the Earth to determine the optimal conditions for growing crops. Next, you will visit the salt mines of Maras, a village that is known as a former salt-producing centre that is thought to date back to pre-Inca times. There are over 3,000 salt pools carved into the mountainside and the water, which is exposed to the sun, leaves glistening salt on the land. You will then drive back to Cusco.

A Picture Perfect Peru Tour with Mac ITINERARY DAY 8 Today is an early start, and you will be picked up and transported to the train station for a full day aboard the Titicaca train, which is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful journeys in the world. Local musicians will play in the background while you board, and you’ll be greeted by gorgeous cars decorated in the style of the traditional Pullman cars of the 1920s. During the trip, you’ll indulge in delicious gourmet cuisine including afternoon tea and have ample opportunity to admire the beautiful scenery. Once you arrive in Puno, you will be transferred to the Hacienda Puno for an overnight stay. PERURAIL TITICACA TRAIN Described as one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world, the PeruRail Titicaca Train provides passengers with a unique sense of luxury from beginning to end. This full day, 10-hour excursion crosses the Peruvian Andes between Cusco and Puno, and visits the world’s highest navigable lake, which is a magical experience unto itself. A Picture Perfect Peru Tour with Mac ITINERARY DAY 9 After breakfast, you will be transferred to the port of Puno for a speedboat ride that will take you the first of the floating Uros islands. Of the 65 small floating islands, you will visit two for a more in-depth guided tour. Next, you will sail towards Taquile Island. The island is full of architectural terraces and ruins dating back to preInca times, and is known for its weaving traditions. Enjoy impressive views of Lake Titicaca before having free time to explore the island at your leisure and returning to Puno. TAQUILE ISLAND Taquile Island is an archipelago located on the Peruvian side of Lake Titicaca, 45 kilometres from the city of Puno. Just over 2,000 people of whom continue to live a traditional lifestyle inhabit the island, and it has only recently been opened up to the public. This is the perfect opportunity to relax and experience life without modernisations; hiking is a popular pastime, and allows visitors to admire the glorious scenery and biodiversity. DAY 10 After breakfast, you will be transferred to Juliaca Airport for your flight to Lima. You will then be taken to Hotel JosĂŠ Antonio Miraflores for an overnight stay. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure.

DAY 11 After breakfast, you will embark on an exciting city tour of Lima, visiting some of the main attractions with the assistance of a local tour guide. You’ll admire the contrast between the historic centre and the contemporariness of Downtown Lima, and take a trip to a number of colonial buildings, the Huaca Pacllana, The Central Bank Museum, and the San Francisco Catacombs before returning to your hotel and enjoying a farewell dinner at Mangos Restaurant. MANGOS RESTAURANT Mangos Restaurant is the perfect way to round off your trip, and is a delectable eatery that provides stunning scenery from the outdoor terrace. The restaurant is located up in the Miraflores cliffs for spectacular views over the sea while you tuck into traditional Peruvian dishes, and sample one of the tasty cocktails from the extensive menu. There’s truly nothing like watching the glorious sunset from the terrace with your favourite drink in hand.

DAY 12 After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to Lima Airport for your flight home.

From cooking classes and a chocolate museum tour to a Pisco tasting and a second visit to Machu Picchu, there is truly something for everyone. CLASSIC COOKING CLASS ÂŁ38 PER PERSON Lasting approximately three hours, you will be picked up from your hotel and transported to the kitchen. Here, you will learn and prepare traditional Peruvian recipes under the supervision of experienced chefs before indulging in your self-made creations. Please note: Vegetarian options are available. This is a shared activity with a group of up to 10 people. The activity lasts approximately 3 hours and includes return transfers to your hotel.

A FOLKLORE SHOW WITH DINNER, ÂŁ22 PER PERSON Indulge in a delicious buffet dinner at the Tunupa restaurant, which boasts an extensive range of international and local dishes as well as plenty of vegetarian options. The night really gets going when the traditional dance show begins, and the dancers encourage you to share the dancefloor, so you can truly enjoy the folk and classical music. OUTDOOR COOKING CLASS £95 PER PERSON For a unique gastronomic experience, this outdoor cooking class allows you to prepare and enjoy various traditional dishes in the open air. Lasting around eight hours, you will have the opportunity to operate an outdoor grill and create dishes such as huatia, baked pork and pachamanca. Please note: Vegetarian options are available. TOUR OF THE CHOCOLATE MUSEUM £68 PER PERSON Chocolate lovers will adore learning all about the chocolate-making process from the cocoa trees of the Peruvian jungle. ANDEAN ANCESTRAL CEREMONIES £95 PER PERSON

You’ll be picked up from your hotel in the morning and transported to the South Valley of Cusco. Here, you will do a cocoa leaf reading, followed by an Andean cleansing and flourishing ceremony, and a traditional Andean offering to Mother Earth, before returning to your hotel. Please note: You will be picked up at 9:00 and returned to Cusco at approximately 13:00. Transfers are included.

HALF-DAY TRIP TO SOUTH VALLEY £38 PER PERSON

After an early pick-up, your trip to the South Valley begins with a stop in Tipon. Located to the east of Cusco, you will admire the 12 impressive terraces and the functioning irrigation system that still waters crops to this day. Next, you will visit Pikillaqta, which presents characteristics of a pre-Incan main urban centre that was important to the development of the Huari Empire. After about an hour here, you’ll visit Andahuaylillas. A typical Andean village with unique architecture, Andahuaylillas is noted for its colonial catholic church, which is known as the Sistine Chapel of Cusco. After roughly an hour here, you will return to Cusco. Please note: You will be picked up at 07:45 and returned to your hotel at approximately 13:30. Transfers are included.

PISCO TASTING ÂŁ29 PER PERSON

An exciting and innovative experience awaits you as you embark on a guided tour that appeals to all the senses. Discover the endless varieties of pisco, and have the opportunity to taste four different varieties. Please note: The tour begins at 15:00 and lasts approximately 3 hours. Transfers are not included, however, the activity takes place nearby to the hotel.

RAINBOW MOUNTAIN - VINICUNCA ÂŁ70 PER PERSON

An early start will see you picked up from your hotel and transported through a variety of communities to admire the natural beauty and wildlife in its natural habitat. You will then embark on a 90-minute walking tour of the Rainbow Mountain, where your guide will explain the science behind the colours. Reenergise with some hot tea and a snack before being transported back to Cusco. Please note: Transportation is included, and you will be picked up from your hotel between 05:30 and 06:00, and returned at approximately 18:00. Tea and snacks are included. Sensible walking shoes are essential.

TRIP TO WAYNA PICCHU £91 PER PERSON For those with enough energy, climbing Wayna (Huayna) Picchu is considered by many to be a highlight when visiting Machu Picchu. A hike up this mountain will allow you to observe Machu Picchu from different angles as well as see how the Incans carved steps out of the rocks. Please note: Price includes entrance fee and bus tickets. A tour guide is not included. Sensible walking shoes are essential.
