WHEN DYNAMITE HA
Giving yourself the edge over others on the bank is what separates a good angler from the average Joe. Just by making one or two tweaks to your baiting regime, spod mix or hookbaits can make all difference between putting fish in the net and blanking, particularly on high-pressured day-ticket venues or the wily old carp on touch-to-crack syndicate lakes. Over the following pages we bring you some of our top consultants’ tips and tricks that will help you put even more fish in the net…

PARTICLE FISHING - IAN RUSSELL
PARTICLES... UNDER-USED, UNDER-RATED, YET DEADLY!
I’m a massive fan of particles! They’re great at drawing fish in to the swim, holding them and more importantly, getting them grubbing. One of the good things about Dynamite’s particles are that they are cooked in the jar, so there is no need for any preservatives. The number one particle, for me and countless others has to be hemp. It draws and catches everything that swims. The next one you’ll never see me without is sweetcorn. The golden grain has probably caught more fish than most other baits. The other one I love is of course, Mixed Particles. The first one does what it says on the tin. It is a blend of many small particles, from hemp to wheat. While Pulses
A BAIT THAT’S NEVER BEEN TRULY ‘IN VOGUE’ WITH LOTS OF CARP ANGLERS. IAN RUSSELL RECKONS THIS SHORT-SIGHTEDNESS MAY JUST BE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CATCHING AND BLANKING… and Particles are more of a chunky particle mix, offering a unique combination of loosefeed and hookbaits, all in the one jar. The great thing is that it allows you to create loads of confusion in the swim - carp don’t know what’s safe to eat and what isn’t! When it comes to particle rigs, I prefer to fish my hookbaits either hard on the deck or critically balanced. This is so when the carp sucks up the bait, the rig will enter the mouth faster, resulting in a more efficient hook hold. In really deep silt, I may slightly balance them to avoid the bait sinking too far in to the silt. What I definitely won’t do is fish a pop-up.

Experience has taught me that on silty lakes, particles sink in and the fish bury their heads in order to get to them. With a pop-up on the hook, the fish could easily miss the bait. When it comes to maize or corn I again use a false kernel. This is sandwiched between two real grains, so that it not only sinks well but the buoyancy of the false grain will make the bait sit up like a small tower on the bottom of the lake. I will then fish two or three rods - rules depending - over a large bed of particles 12-15 Spombs to kick things off - feeding another five or six after every fish landed.

BOILIE GUIDE
IDYNAMITE’S NEEDHEROABOILIE HERO! RANGE EXPLAINED
If there’s a better boilie on the market, we’d like to see it. Our only brief to Terry Hearn when he was looking to develop a new boilie was ‘don’t hold back’. Coming on the back of another superb product - The Crave (also one of Terry’s finest creations), which was successfully launched five-years previous, we wanted a bait that would not only sit at the top of our bait range, but one that would preside over all it surveyed.
its worth time and again during its relatively short life span thus far - with countless 30s, 40s, a handful of 50s and even a few larger carp falling to it’s charms.
The result was Complex-T, a bait that has proved
Made using the finest possible ingredients - including Norwegian LT94 fishmeal, Haith’s® bird food and Robin Red®, pre-digested liver extract, spirulina and high nucleotide yeast.

BOILIE GUIDE
Amongst those ‘in the know’ The Source has become somewhat of a household name in the world of boilies and baits. Having an unmistakable smell and colour, it is hard to believe that The Source is 16-years-old! But, as they say, if it’s not broke, then why fix it? As one of the first baits to be developed hand in hand between the boffins at Dynamite and Terry Hearn, there was never any doubt that this partnership would lead to greatness. Made using the exact same recipe as it was back in 2002, it contains high-
™
protein, low-temperature fishmeals as well as a range of other tried and tested ingredients, like the ever-faithful Robin Red, which gives the bait its distinct deep red colour and spicy taste and smell. The addition of egg shells into the basemix bring a unique crunch to the finished product, something that carp especially find simply irresistible.
Terry is also a huge fan of shellfish-based baits and this is why he again helped us create a boilie that has that something a ‘little bit special’ about it. Based around a blend of tuna meal, anchovy meal, a concentrated soluble shrimp paste as well as two of Terry’s all-time ‘secret’ flavours, The Crave is a bait that can be used to great effect all-year round with utter confidence. To add to its fishy-base, we have also added to the baits nutrition and palatability with the addition

of salmon oil and the finest liquid liver, perfect for stimulating a feeding response in both warm and cold-water situations. DYNAMITEBAITS.COM

BOILIE GUIDE
When it comes to tiger nuts, what more can you say? Carp can’t get enough of them! So, when we put all that nature has given you into a boilie, the results were simply devasting. Developed with the help of some of the best carp anglers in the UK, Dynamite’s Monster Tiger Nut boilies literally emptied waters when we launched them and they are still catching just as many today and they did then Just ask Ian Russell! As well as being packed with all the goodness of Tigernut,
we have added a few amino acids, some essential vitamins and minerals - such as Lysine - natural tiger nut milk and an exclusive ‘feed inducing’ vanilla palatant. Fishing is all about confidence, and these baits are just that… confidence in a bag!
In 2013 we started looking for a way to extend the MTN range and so the new Red Amo was born. Based on the incredible MTN base mix, to bring that ‘little bit something extra’ to the party, we started messing around with the addition of fruit-based flavours and palatants to add to the recipe. Once a few test batches were rolled, we immediately knew we’d broken the mould and had stumbled onto something very special.
Adding a splash of colour to the mix, Red Amo takes its name from the safe ‘washed-out’ pink shade of the finished range. So, if you’re a fan of tiger nuts, but you want a bit of an edge, then look no further than Red Amo. ✝

DAY TICKET SPOD MIX - ROB HUGHES
ROB HUGHES’
DAY TICKET SPOD MIX IT’S DEAD SIMPLE & IT WORKS… There isn’t a carp in the World that doesn’t like hemp or sweetcorn and that’s almost always my starting point. Dynamite Hemp is bang on. Perfectly prepared, easy to use, and you know every single time you open a jar that you’re going to get exactly what you want. It’s the same with our Sweetcorn, and whilst you might think corn is corn, some corn is better than others. I used to use bags of frozen corn from the supermarket but it’s nowhere near as good as decent
tinned corn. Tinned corn is stored in its own juice so it keeps it’s sweetness much better, and carp definitely prefer it. Try the difference between the two and you’ll see that once you’ve used the tins there’s no going back to frozen stuff. Such is the pulling power of these hemp and corn you don’t necessarily need to add any more ingredients, but adding a few extra bits really does make a difference. My choice is Sweet and Milky Pulses and

Particles. They add a little bit extra for the fish to feed on and let them pick as well as graze. Adding a liquid takes the mix up another gear and Sweet Tiger Liquid Carp Food is a perfect example. It’s a two part liquid and some hangs in the water leaving a brilliant food message higher up, whilst the rest sinks down to the bottom laying a carpet of taste explosion on the deck.
I use a pink Hit’n’Run over the mix so often and add a handful of Red Amo 15mm boilies to give the carp some targets and finish off with a light a sprinkling of Marine Halibut pellets to add some totally different meat to the pie. One of the key things for me is that any spod mix needs to be easy to prep and easy to use and this is. It’s dead simple and it works.
1 My starter is always a whole jar of hemp.
2 Two cans of sweetcorn follow it straight in.
3 To add extra larger morsels, I like the sweet milky particles and pulses - once again a whole jar.
4 A really good glug of sweet tiger liquid food adds to the attraction.
5 As I mostly use a pink hit’n’run hookbait, I scatter a few 15mm Red Amo boilies into the mix.
6 To add a bit of crunch and oil a sprinkling of Halibut pellets finishes off the deal.

PVA FRIENDLY PARTICLES
MAKE YOUR PARTICLES PVA FRIENDLY We’re often asked: “What’s the best way of making our preservative free particles PVA friendly?” Here’s a really simple way of not only making our tins and jars, not only PVA friendly
but help give them added attraction and preserve them once opened.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED: Jar of Frenzied Particles CSL based Carp Food liquid (e.g Sweet Tiger) A bucket

1 Select your chosen particles from our Frenzied range and pour into a bucket.
2 Drain off any excess liquid - Why not use it in your spod mix or to mix up groundbait?
3 Add a good helping of CSL based Liquid Carp Food and give the bucket a shake so that all the particles are coated. Around 1/3 of a bottle to a jar
4 Seal the lid and leave to stand for at least 10 minutes but ideally overnight and thery’re ready to go.

PAUL GARNER’S HOOKBAIT HACKS
MAKEYOUROWN BOILIES THE ART OF CREATING YOUR OWN HOOKBAITS… Tackle Shops are laden with every conceivable type of boilie - but there’s still a case to be made for making your own - especially hookbaits, which can be tweaked to bring you more bites and improve the efficiency of your rigs too. There’s a definite art to blending raw ingredients to produce a great boilie, so a great starting point is to use the boilie making packs that most bait companies produce to complement their ready-made baits. These will contain the dry mix, plus the blended liquid additives that you need to replicate your favourite bait. All you need to add are eggs, which act as a binder when the baits are boiled. These are a great starting point, easy to make, and you know they will catch fish. I like to change is the shape of the finished baits. One of my favourites is to make pelletshaped hookbaits. These stand out better than a single small bait on the bottom, and once a fish picks them up they are harder to eject, so can bring more bites. A good tip is to make a few hookbaits in different sizes. If you are using 15mm boilies try a really big 25mm hookbait, as this will really attract the carp’s attention. Alternatively, try making some tiny hookbaits that are perfect for the the Method feeder for smaller species.
From all of my underwater observations of fish feeding one thing that has really stood out is that fish much prefer soft baits to hard ones. Homemade baits tend to be much softer than ready-made ones, and for me, this is one of the most important reasons that I will make my own baits. Don’t try and make too many baits at once. Start off with one egg as a trial as this will still make quite a substantial amount of baits, and certainly plenty of hookbaits. A kilo bag of mix will require around a dozen eggs to make it all, so this gives you plenty of opportunity to experiment. Why not try changing the colour of some of the baits, by adding powdered dyes, or boosting the smell of your hookbaits by doubling the amount of flavour used? This is a good opportunity to try experimenting with other additives too, although keep in mind that the bait will have been formulated very carefully, so don’t add too much.

HOW TO GIVE YOUR BOILIES THE EDGE
HOW TO GIVE YOUR BOILIES THE EDGE…
Carp fishing legend Terry Hearn is no stranger to catching stunning river carp. As revealed in his recent videos, Tel has been getting some great river carp fishing results on his own CompleX-T boilies by giving them a few tweaks. Here’s how he does it… WHAT YOU NEED • CompleX-T Freezer Bait • Air dry boilie bag
(weigh sling or landing net can be used instead)
• A tube of Saxa Salt • A large sandwich bag or tub
Like many big rivers, The Thames contains many small fish aswell as Chinese Mitten Crabs, and so to help my hookbaits last the night I like to air dry them first. The thing with air dried baits is they tend to be less attractive, sucking moisture instead of pumping out

food signals, and so on the river I often like to use salt in the drying process. As well as having the desired effect of hardening your hookbaits, salt is also very attractive to carp. Although I sometimes use a small amount of salt on my freebies, this process is more for hookbaits only, as you wouldn’t want to feed them too much of the stuff… just like us really. STEP 1 Take a handful or two of frozen freebies and drop them into an air dry bag. Here I’m using Complex T which is a highly palatable, relatively soft and loose textured bait, and so for hookbaits on the river its a good idea to toughen them up a bit. STEP 2
The Saxa stuff from Tesco is just fine. I used a mix of both coarse and fine grain. Seal the bag and then give them a shake every so often. The salt will pull out any remaining moisture towards the surface of the baits, leaving the centres hard. And as a plus, as well as making them ever so attractive, they’re now shelf life so there’s no need to re-freeze. The longer you leave them the better they’ll be, in fact I’m still using up a batch of smaller ones which I made last year. STEP 4 Some I made earlier...tough, super salty and super attractive. Be lucky.
Leave them to dry for a day or two. Obviously how long you leave them drying is dependant on where you leave them and how warm it is. I find that 24hrs is enough in summer.
n Terry Hear
STEP 3 Drop the semi-dry baits into a bag of pure, natural sea salt.

MIKE TOBIN’S SOLID PVA BAG MIX
SOLIDPVA BAG MIKE TOBIN SHOWS YOU HOW TO CREATE THE PERFECT SOLID BAG This is my solid PVA bag approach for the cooler months. Using a small size bag, I can present an amount of bait which is almost just a mouthful for a carp. I believe it’s more effective to not use too much bait in winter and try pick fish off once I locate them. I like to use this presentation especially if I’m unsure what the bottom of the lake is like, as I can cast out confidently knowing I will be presented and fishing effectively. Start by adding 2mm Betain Green and 3mm Amino Original Swim Stim pellets in the bowl, creating an equal mix and add some Frenzied Hempseed Caster Meal - this is a great edge to a solid bag, especially in the colder months. Then add the same amount of Monster Tiger Nut Stick Mix - again, another great attraction. Mix everything so each product is evenly distributed, this is your main solid bag mix.
Open a PVA bag and slightly stretch it out to help allow everything to fit in nicely. Adding a small amount of the Caster Meal to the bag helps protect your hook point when adding the rest of the mix. Now carefully lower your rig into the corner of the bag, gently working the hook into the Caster Meal. I use a wafter or pop up as a hookbait as I find it gives you the best presentation with the bag. Bear in mind to keep hold of the lead at the top of the bag to ensure your hook link is stretched out. Gradually start adding your mix to the bag bit by bit, using your lead to help pack it down
Mix together 2mm Betain Green and 3mm Amino Original Swim Stim pellets. 18

as you go. Remember to keep pulling your lead towards the top of the bag each time you add some of the mix. Once the bag is almost full, allow a bit of room at the top so you can twist it shut. At this stage I like I like to squeeze and compact the bag as much as possible to ensure all the empty space in the bag is filled. Wrap some PVA tape around the twisted top section several times and secure with a couple of simple overhand knots. Trim the tag ends of the tape and the excess of the bag to give a neat and tidy finish.
Your main solid bag mix.
Lower rig into the corner of the bag.
The finished bag.
To finish off stick the corners of the bag down. I do this by pinching a corner and pushing in, compacting the bait further into the bag and freeing up space in the corner. Now lick the PVA and stick it to the outside edge of the bag and repeat on the other side. This will make the bag more aerodynamic for casting. Once the bag dissolves in the water, your bag mix and hook bait will be presented perfectly.

When you see our range of Carp Spirit rods, we are sure you will agree that the wait has been worth it. From BLAX to Magnum X5, we have a carp rod for everyone. We have developed a range of carp rods that we are proud of, and look as good as they perform. The brief was simple, no corners were to be cut. Only the best manufacturers and materials were selected for the job. Nothing was left to chance. The range covers a wide selection of models and price points to suit all angling situations and abilities. The BLAX range of rods are our entry level offering and are designed to be ‘best in class’. The range offers outstanding performance and value, with prices starting from £39.99. The slim matt finished blanks are constructed using 30-ton preimpregnated carbon, with double-leg SIC Sea-Guide rings and 18mm DPS reel seats. The wide selection of models, including spod and marker options, makes our BLAX rod range the ultimate all round offering.
CARP SPIRIT SECTION-A6 ROD GUIDE-105x148-40pp.indd 3
Our top of the range Magnum rods are split into four distinct categories; X1, X3, X5 and XLR. As you move through the range the materials, fittings and performance upgrade accordingly. Construction of the X1 models start with a 36+30 ton carbon, through to a 46 ton carbon for the XLR model. Guides progress from Sea-Guides to Fuji, and Reel Seats from 18mm DPS to Alps. Each model features anti-frap tip guides, and the X3, X5 and XLR versions have a special Anti-Scratch Finish that results in the rods being highly durable and ensures that they will continue to look as good as the day you bought them. The X1, X3 and X5 models all feature the same ‘semi-fast’ action, whilst the XLR is a ‘fast action’ model designed to be the ultimate long range casting tool! a guide to choosing your carp rod... Whatever model, length or test curve that you select, you can be assured that it has been tried and tested by our team of anglers to ensure maximum performance. LENGTHS AND SECTIONS 13ft Rods – Popular throughout Europe and are well suited to fishing larger lakes. They will handle heavier leads and achieve greater casting distances.
12ft Rods – Popular in the UK and are ideal for fishing in swims that have overhanging trees. They have excellent balance in the hand. Utility Rods – Becoming more popular and are usually around 10ft in length. They are ideal for stalking in tight swims and their short length makes them easier to manoeuvre around. They are also ideal for fishing with pinpoint accuracy at short range with light leads. Multi Section Rods – Traditionally carp rods are two-piece, however as technology has improved multi section rods are becoming increasingly popular. Ideal for smaller vehicles or as back up rods, they take up much less space when folded down. Our BLAX series has a great selection of multi-piece rods.

TEST CURVE GUIDE 2.75lb – A very popular test curve that is able to cope with a multitude of situations. Ideal for fishing single leads, lightweight method feeders or smaller PVA bags. In the right hands these rods are still very capable of casting 100 yards plus, yet they are also great for playing fish close to the bank as the softer action reduces the risk of hook pulls. A 2.75lb test curve rod is an excellent choice that is well suited to medium range fishing. 3.00lb – Our most popular test curve. Excellent reserves of power in the butt section make fishing at range no problem and can easily cope with single leads, PVA bags and method feeders. Don’t be shy about really winding these rods up to get the butt section to release its full power. An excellent all round choice for medium – long range fishing. With their extra power in the butt section 3.00lb test curve rods are great for setting hooks when fishing at range, yet the tip section still possess enough forgiveness when playing fish close to the bank at the crucial stages of the fight.
3.50lb – Perfect for the angler wanting to fish big baits, large PVA bags at the limits of their casting ability. Of course, when using higher test curve rods like this slightly more care will need to be taken while playing fish under the rod tip. The extra power of these rods, particularly in the butt section, will be well appreciated by anglers looking to set hooks at range. 3.75lb – The highest test curve in our rod range as featured on the 13ft Magnum XLR. A specialist casting tool designed to cast big leads and large PVA bags to the horizon. 4.00lb & 5.00lb – Reserved solely for utility rods such as spod and marker rods. Because large marker floats and spods are much less aerodynamic than streamlined leads, these strong test curves are perfect for ‘punching’ out wet or dry filled spods and marker floats to your baited fishing area.
SHOCK LEADER GUIDE Always use the “10 x safety rule” for your shock leaders. For example with a 3oz. lead use a 30lb minimum strength breaking strain shock; a 4oz lead will require a 40lb minimum and so on. This will result in increased safety and reduces the chances of a ‘crack-off’ when striving for that extra distance.
NOTE: Please remember these are only guidelines and that length and test curve choice will always remain a personal one.

ROD SPECIFICATION NANO MATRIX CARBON
ANTI-SCRATCH FINISH
Our multi walled Nano-Matrix Carbon blanks are so strong because they are made up of a single chain of unbroken covalent carbon to carbon bonds within the low resin pre-preg; the end result is slimmer, lighter and higher performance rod blanks.
All blanks that feature ASF are precision laser ground to ultra-high tolerances.
This process is reserved exclusively for our top of the range Magnum rods XLR, X5 and X3 series.
The end result is a smooth, long lasting and durable surface finish, which will ensure that your rods will still look as good as the day that you bought them, even after many years of use.
Nano Matrix Carbon (NMC)
This removes the traditional requirement to apply paint or varnish to the blank, and is therefore the final process before any components are fitted.
STAINLESS STEEL BUTT CAP Manufactured from 300 series grade stainless steel with a laser etched Logo. The hard nature of stainless steel is more durable and resistant to damage.
ANTI-FRAP TIP GUIDES Anti-Frap tip guides feature smooth and blended side bracings between the tube and centre frame. This special shape greatly reduces the chances of line getting wrapped around the tip of the blank before, during or after the cast.
FUJI BKWAG GUIDES Highest quality, tangle free, Japanese rod guides with lightweight Alconite centres. The special smooth shape of the frame makes them perfect for extreme distance casting and when heavy duty shock leaders are required.

The dual collars and nylon lock washer provide an incredibly strong and secure fixing for even the largest of big pit reels. Perfect for withstanding the torque and turning forces generated during extreme distance casting.
1-K WEAVE The tightest weave we use on our rods. The multi-directional carbon fibres are interwoven at a rate of 1mm x 1mm, providing thousands of overlays across the blank length. The end result is added strength to the blank itself and increased tip speed recovery to aid both casting distance and accuracy.
3-K WEAVE Multi-directional carbon fibres are interwoven at a rate of 3mm x 3mm, providing thousands of overlays across the blank length. The end result is added strength to the blank itself, and increased tip speed recovery to aid both distance casting and accuracy.

"Enjoy high quality on a budget." BLAX SERIES The BLAX series of rods has been designed and developed to be ‘best in class’. So much so Rob Hughes chooses to use his BLAX rods above all of the others available to him! At first glance you would be forgiven for thinking that the BLAX rods are twice their actual price and rightly so. Pick them up and it is easy to feel that their slim, lightweight, dark matt blanks have been constructed using the finest 30-Ton carbon pre-preg. Each rod is built using high quality SIC Sea-Guides and lightweight anodised aluminium fittings throughout the range. Amongst the standard test curves, you will find some fantastic utility rods such as the 10ft rod, ideal for stalking or for use in tight swims.

BLAX SERIES – SPOD RODS Spod rods are a key part of any carp anglers armoury and our BLAX spod rods are well up to the job. Both versions feature powerful but progressive actions, with huge power reserves in the butt section. Given that a loaded Spod is generally much heavier and less aerodynamic than a lead, this extra power is particularly important to ensure that you can reach your hookbait area with a loaded spod. As well as offering outstanding value and performance, our BLAX Spod rods are available in both a standard 2 piece and also a 3 piece version, ideal for those who are looking to save space. BLAX SERIES – MARKER ROD The BLAX marker rod features a powerful butt section to help cast out marker floats, yet retains a degree of sensitivity towards the end of the tip section to help identify and read the features of the lake bed. Featuring 2x depth gauge markers at 30cm and 50cm above the reel seat, the rod also benefits from a glow in the dark luminous tip section that’s easy to see in low light or night time conditions; simply charge it up with a torch for maximum effect. To achieve the best ‘sensitivity’ and ‘feel’ when using a marker rod, it’s strongly recommended to use a low stretch braid such as our Spod & Marker Braid and a feature finding lead. 2X DEPTH GAUGE AT 30CM AND 50CM SEA-GUIDE BTLSG GUIDES 18MM DPS REEL SEAT MATT FINISH BLANK ABBREVIATED HANDLE DESIGN BLACK ANODISED FITTINGS LUMIOUNS TIP END SECTION

MAGNUM X1 SERIES The Magnum X1 Series takes some of the best bits of its brothers the X3 and X5, resulting in a rod that has stunning looks, fantastic performance and great value. Featuring the same trademark Magnum series semi-fast action, the blank itself is made using a special blend of 36 and 30-ton hi-modulus carbon and a small section of 3K weave above the reel seat. Cosmetics are both minimalistic and subtle featuring a full Japanese shrink wrapped handle. Not only does this look the part, but it also helps to prevent the rod from slipping off your arm whilst playing a fish. Matt finished blanks with a deep grey undertone and black Sea-Guide SIC guides make the Magnum X1 a serious container for any angler’s armoury.

MAGNUM X3 SERIES Manufactured from 36-Ton Hi-Modulus Nano Matrix Carbon (NMC) the Magnum X3 range is a series of rods with a semi fast action that offer fantastic performance. The butt section holds plenty of power in reserve for casting heavy leads and PVA bags, yet the tip section is still forgiving enough to absorb the lunges during a fight due to the trademark semi-fast action of the Magnum series. The high quality Fuji reel seat is compatible with both big pit and standard size reels and the ASF technology blanks finished in a 3K weave ensure that the Magnum X3 Series will be a firm favourite amongst the most serious and demanding of carp anglers who expect the most from their tackle.

“As close to an all round carp fishing rod as you will ever find. Excellent close in and at range”.
MAGNUM X5 SERIES Our top of the range Magnum X5 rods are all manufactured from 40-Ton High Modulus Nano Matrix Carbon (NMC), which gives the blanks their ultra slim diameter yet still provides plenty of power in reserve. All the Magnum series rods feature the same semi fast action, which, after extensive testing by the Pro team was found to be the perfect balance between being able to cast leads to extreme distances yet still retain a tip soft enough to absorb the lunges of the fish during key stages of the fight. Built using only the highest quality fittings including a carbon clone reel seat and an ASF technology blank, the Magnum X5 series are without doubt the ultimate carp fishing rods available today.

MAGNUM XLR A rod like no other! XLR means xtra-long range, and that’s exactly the sole purpose of this rod. To cast baits and PVA bags to the horizon. As soon as you pick up the XLR you will immediately tell that it is very different to any other rod that you have handled before. Flex the tip and immediately you can feel the power in the blank. Key to achieving these kinds of distances is the specially tapered butt section. So fast is the taper that the XLR will easily cope with leads up to 6oz in weight. Of course pushing rods like this to the limit demands the highest performance fittings. That’s why we chose a CNC machined Alps reel seat for maximum reel security, and Fuji BKWAG to cope with the fast line speed and heavy duty shock leaders required for such a specialist tool. Made from Hi-Modulus Nano Matrix 46 ton carbon and wrapped in a 1K weave along its full length. Available in one length and test curve only (13ft 3.75lb). In the right hands the Magnum XLR can deliver baited rigs to well over 200 Yards.
