It was the worst kept secret in showbiz but last Friday Girls Aloud officially announced their return. With single 'Something New' (this year's 'Children In Need' single) having already leaked online, the girls came together in the swish ballroom of London’s Corinthian Hotel, to reveal their Greatest Hits album 'Ten' and a supporting UK tour. 4

Wedded bliss for JT and Jessica Biel? Reports suggest trouble already Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel’s wedding pictures are published in People this week, along with some details about their special day. It all sounds very romantic - pink dress, romantic grotto, Donny Hathaway’s A Song For You. He serenaded her down the aisle, she cried, they all cried. They ate steak and sea bass and ice cream with espresso poured on top.

Kim and Kanye watch: Could the pair be heading down the isle?

But all is not well in paradise according to Star. According to them, the newly weds started arguing during the reception because of JT’s meddling mum and have continued since, with a new row starting over babies. Apparently he is now stalling because of his career plans. “They’ll be lucky to make it to their first anniversary!” a friend tells the mag.

Kim wants to marry Kanye and have twins, apparently. She was going to use a surrogate to become a mum The National Enquirer says, but has decided her yearning to be the mother of his babies is now so strong, she doesn’t care what it does to her figure. So she’s researching high-tech fertility treatments because she “wants to make sure her first delivery will be twins.” OK! has gone one better though and given details of the actual wedding that the couple ARE currently planning. Naturally it’s going to be way overboard: “Something to capture the world’s attention,” an insider reckons. “She’s figured $20million should get her the very best.” Yep, that should do it.

Rihanna and Chris Brown look set to re-kindle their romance Chris Brown’s player days could be numbered if this is to be believed (let it be true, let it be true). Apparently Rihanna and his recent ex Karrueche Tran spoke for two hours on the phone after he publicly asked “is there such a thing as loving two people?” A source tells Star mag: “They are talking about confronting him in person to ask him why he acted like such a jerk and messed with their heads.” The source also reckons he’s been fooling (that’s American right there) around with OTHER girls too. We didn’t think it was possible to be more repulsed by filthy Chris, but we were wrong.

Leandro Penna dumps Katie Price because she was “crazy” Leandro Penna has revealed that he dumped Katie Price because she was “crazy.” The Argentinian model, 27, blasted his former partner in the latest rant since their recent split. He said: “I left her simply because she is crazy. Katie’s brain is not wired right, or the wires don’t connect properly. “I don’t know what’s wrong with her. I was thinking it over recently and one day I packed my bags and left. "There was nothing else I could do.” Leandro finished by telling South American Caras magazine: “She was driving me insane.” 6

TV GRIMM is back with all new beasts The second season of hit US supernatural series Grimm is back on UK screens on Watch. The Walking Dead The Walking Dead is back on our TV screens with Season 3, which will see the highly-anticipated arrival of David Morrissey as the villainous Governor. Andrea (Laurie Holden) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) come face-toface with the Governor in episode 3, Walk With Me. Morrissey recently told Sky Guide: "In the graphic novel [on which the show is based], you meet the character fully formed, there's not a lot of grey area about what kind of guy he is. "In the TV series, that would be a quick creative ceiling you'd reach if you played that character. My guy, you reach him earlier in his journey, he's somebody who is building a secure community. That has certain rules to it, certain things you have to follow. I think tough times call for tough decisions and tough people." He added: "For me as the actor, I have to find empathy for him and know what his motivations are for certain things. "Sometimes good people do really "terrible things but they justify it to themselves. I also think that what's great about it is that the audience will have a different relationship with this character. "You see him in his private moments. They really are an insight that the others don't get immediately." Asked about his first zombie kill on set, Morrissey revealed: "It was brilliant. You never forget your first. I never feel you earn your Walking Dead stripes until you're covered in zombie blood.

"My zombie kill was a great day and I felt, "I've arrived!". But my real initiation was that I got lost on my first day of filming and I walked into the wrong room. "Michonne's two pet zombies were sitting in the room and I just crapped myself. That was my first initiation into the world of The Walking Dead itself. Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman promises that although we begin with an earlier version of the Governor in the TV show, it's still very much the same character as in his comic book stories. He said: "There was never any discussion about doing something radical and different with the Governor, or not having him in the show.

The Walking Dead continues Friday at 10pm on FX 14

The Vampire Diaries A new threat arrives in Mystic Falls Returning for its fourth season, The Vampire Diaries is the story of two vampire brothers, obsessed with the same girl. Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder), are consumed by their love for Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) - a human who at the end of season 3 died with vampire blood in her system. Season Four began with the knowledge that everything is in transition. Elena faces her worst nightmare when she awakens after the accident and finds she must now endure the terrifying transition to become a vampire – or face certain death. Stefan and Damon are torn even further apart over how to help Elena adjust to a life she never wanted, and everyone has to cope with the chaos Alaric created when he outed the vampires and their supporters to the Mystic Falls Council and local church leaders. Despite everything that has happened to them, as Elena and her friends enter into the final stretch of high school before graduation sends them off on different paths, they feel the bond to their home town of Mystic Falls take on a deeper meaning when a new mysterious villain is introduced who seems intent on destroying it. Conor Jordan is a new character and vampire hunter that makes his first appearance this season. He is highly versed in "deadly arts" and also known as a "highly trained killing machine." He shows Damon a folder of notes he's been keeping and threatens him. Connor is a member of The Five, a group of powerful vampire hunters back in original times. Little is currently known about The Five and it seems that Connor despite being a member knows nothing about them.

Standing In The Dark The UK’s hottest new band talk about their success so far, touring, spooky movies and the release of their debut album, Chapman Square

20

Lawson Congratulations on the release of Chapman Square..How does it feel to have it out? “Feels awesome..it’s so surreal to finally have it out since we’ve been working on it for the past four years..it’s a dream come true for us all…four years in the making and it’s incredible to have it out.” For people who know nothing about Lawson, how would you describe yourself? Andy: “I'd say our music is guitar led, acoustic based rock/pop, meaningful, athemic songs that people will be able to relate to.” Joel: “And jump around to at a festival with several beers in your belly.” Ryan: “Guitar lead pop/rock.” Adam : “We are a guitar lead pop/rock band with meaningful lyrics, songs we hope everyone can relate too. And personality wise we are just 4 idiots who could only ever make music.” How did Lawson get together? Story behind it…. Andy: Adam contacted me through myspace after hearing my page on there. I told him I wanted to start a band and knew a great bass player already (Ryan)....Ryan then introduced us to Joel who he had known from a young age and had gone to music college with. We here there’s an interesting story behind the name of the band..do tell? Andy: The name comes from the surgeon who saved my life. A few years ago I had a serious operation after a doctor discovered I had a tumour,. I owe everything to my surgeon, David Lawson. “The tumour was wrapped around my optic nerve that controls your sight.” “If the surgeon hadn’t found it and removed it I’d be blind and completely deaf.”

www.dyrt.co.uk

Lawson Sit down with Georgina Lennon “There were complications in the operation and there was a 40 per cent chance of facial paralysis. “I lost hearing in my right ear, which is a blow, but I have to make sure I protect my left ear. It’s super sensitive and I protect it at live gigs with earplugs. But if it wasn’t for the surgeon I wouldn’t be here now. I can’t thank him enough. I owe absolutely everything to him.” Not only are these boys talented musicians, you may be surprised to discover Lawson also have a comedic side to them, joking that had it not been for that twist of fate, the band could’ve been named Talati - after Ryan’s doctor who removed his tonsils. Not quite sure that has quite the same ring to it though boys! Continuing with the jokes, Adam proved himself quite the salesman, plugging their debut album at every turn - we hear QVC are recruiting should you ever need a change from the music business . You have written most of the songs on the album yourself..Why is that important to you as a band? Joel: “We’ve been together so long that some of the songs that made the album had been written for years - ‘You didn’t tell me’ is one of the first songs we ever wrote as a band” Andy: “As the singer I write a lot of the melodies, which is something that comes quite naturally to me. I also write down some lyrics and bring it to the guys and then we just ‘Lawsonfy’ it - Adam’s description of the process. “There are also guitar solos which Joel has written and that’s nice because it’s different from other bands that are out there. We’re bringing back the guitar solo..that’s what we’re about! “We’ve evolved a lot as a band. A lot of the songs we wrote when we first got together we don’t play anymore. We’ve written lots of new stuff for this and the second album - which we’ve already stared working on - it’s a great process.” Our favourite thing to do is write songs and perform them to fans, see how they respond to it. We knew instantly that Standing in the Dark (out now) needed to be a single because of fan response. Ryan: Writing our own stuff is important because when you sing live, if you haven’t written it or had a part in writing it/understand the meaning of it, it doesn’t come across as ‘live’ - for us we need to believe in it. 22

Interview

Andy: Writing our own stuff is the reason we’re a band. When you look at Coldplay, The Killers, Maroon 5—they all write their own songs – it’s the whole point of being in a band, otherwise there’s no point in doing it. For a band like us anyway.

Who/where do you get your inspiration from when you go into the studio? Andy: “Girls! All about love, relationships and heartbreak. Its the best way as everyone has been through it!” Joel: “Oh yeah, we know all about the heartbreak in this band!”

www.dyrt.co.uk

You’ve said that you’re not an average ‘boyband’ how would you describe yourself? Adam: Just like a band, in the same way of The Script, Coldplay etc..I can see why people assume we’re a boyband, we understand that but I think as soon as someone sees us play live, something clicks and it all sort of becomes clear. Who/what are your personal musical influences? Who do you listen to? Andy: “I listen to a lot of various types. John Mayer, The Script, Ed Sheeran,

Lady Antebellum. I grew up listening to the Beatles, and I think that 60's style music is my main inspiration.” Ryan: “I love my rock music. Guns n Roses were a big influence growing up and bands like Aerosmith. I also love a lot of R&B like Jay-Z and Kanye, and more muso stuff like John Mayer he’s one of my idols! Big range of music in my life!” Adam: “I listen to a lot of John Mayer, Coldplay, Foo Fighters, Parachute, Paramore and Maroon 5.” 24

Adam: “That was amazing as we knew that people had brought tickets just for us! it was crazy, there were queues down the street. Joel – A lot of our fans have been with us for over 2 years – right before we ever even had a deal so it's cool to see them still following and enjoying what we're doing! What’s your favourite song off the album? Joel: “Everywhere you Go’ because of this guitar part that we’ve had for ages – I like that we could finally use it. Adam: “My favourite is ‘Who you Gona Call’ - it’s off the deluxe album. Joel: (also off the deluxe) – Touch How have you coped with the fame? Joel: The fame has been gradual. We’ve notice more people waiting outside, coming to our gigs..we love it and if they go crazy for us, that makes us play better. Adam: After each show it just keeps getting better and wonder how we can top that, and then you do .. So it just keeps getting better and better. Andy: “It has been everything and more, we never thought it would blow up like it has, but it’s been great.”

You guys recently came off your own tour and are heading out to do your Hometown Tour— how does that compared to touring with someone else? Andy: “I think doing your own headline tour is the best feeling ever. Although the venues were a lot smaller! Just to know everyone had paid to come and see us was a special feeling. The reaction every night was incredible. We even had a stage invasion one night!!”

Ryan: “The night before our album came out we all sat up and watched the first video we ever uploaded to You Tube (2008) and Andy said ‘did you ever think we’d be sat here now, releasing an album and having three Top 10 singles’..it’s unreal.” Joel: “For us it’s like we’re just starting. Now that the album is out we can take album and tour it all over the world.”

www.dyrt.co.uk

What’s your earliest music memory? What made you decide this was the career for you? Andy: “My dad playing old Beatles songs on guitar. I used to be mesmerised by him playing and singing them to me. I then learnt them all myself. And got an old 60's busker book which had the chords to loads of old classics!” Ryan: “Seeing my brother playing Johnny B Good on electric guitar when I was like 7 made me want to start playing! I was a guitarist for about 4 years before I even touched a bass!” Adam: “I saw a Robbie Williams Live DVD, the drummer looked so cool and I knew then, that was what I wanted to do.” Joel: “My mum bought me a John Mayer CD when I was a kid and I was hooked. Plus, she's a music teacher so that probably helped!” UK groups are all heading to America? Is this something you’d like for yourself ANDY - Oh definitely. Its our main ambition. Our music is very American anyway, and all our favourite bands etc are American. If we could have success there, it would be a dream come true. RYAN - It's what we've dreamed of! that is definitely what we are aiming for in the big picture! Joel – We recorded the album in LA so already America has a special place in the life of Lawson. To be successful other there would be amazing – but let's get the UK done first!

Adam: “We would love to maybe have a song with a cheeky Mayer guitar solo.” With Halloween coming up, what’s you’re must see scary movie? Joel: “Incideous – not been that scared at a movie ever.” Andy + Ryan: “Paranormal Activity I (Andy) literally watched it hiding in the hood of my sweater. We watched Paranormal 1 at Chapman Square and we were so scared I actually cried (Ryan) we actually held each other.” Ryan: “Signs is actually my favourite Halloween film though even though it’s more psychological - but still scary.” Andy: “Perfect Getaway” Adam: “We used to have a movie night at Chapman Square and the criteria had to be thriller with a twist, i.e. Fear Island, Perfect Getaway. Movie night has now moved to van and our next one is Being John Malkovich. Just finally, do you have a message for your fans? Lawson: “Just want to say thanks for everyone at DYRT for all their support. If you haven’t got it already make sure you get a copy of our debut album, Chapman Square and watch out for our tour coming next year. We love you all!

Everyone seems to be doing collaborations nowadays - Is there anyone you would like to collaborate with? Andy: “I'd love to write a song with Danny from The Script, that would be pretty epic!” Ryan: “Someone like Kelly Clarkson or Taylor Swift I think would work great with our music, an American female singer would go down a treat on one of our tracks.”

Conor Maynard talks working with Ne-Yo and Frank Ocean on his debut album

www.dyrt.co.uk

How did your success over the Internet turn into a record deal? "I started to receive random messages over the Internet from managers and record labels trying to get in touch with me. I didn't really believe any of it, so I just ignored a lot of them, then I got this message from somebody saying that they knew Ne-Yo and that he checked out one of my covers and really liked it, so much so that he wanted to fly me out to America. I thought, I don't even know if he knows Ne-Yo. Is there any proof at all? Is this one of my friends pulling a prank?" "A few days after I asked for proof, and I was suddenly on Skype with Ne-Yo talking to him about music. He told me that he wanted to sign me, and then I got to meet with a few different record labels. Eventually, I signed my first record label in the UK." Since then, you and Ne-Yo have collaborated. How did that go?

You got your start on YouTube. What motivated you to post videos of yourself singing online? "Until the age of fifteen, all I really wanted to do was act. I kind of enjoyed singing, but it wasn't really something that I took very seriously. I remember there was this one moment when I was off to school, walking down the road with one of my friends, and singing a song. This girl a few paces ahead overheard and she came up to me and said, 'do that again.' The next day, she got all of her friends to come over to listen to me sing. "At the point, I was always watching singers on YouTube, so I thought I should make a video as well. I had to literally learn from scratch how to make a video. When I first started, I used two SingStar microphones from my PlayStation 2 and plugged them into my computer. It was more of a hobby for me. I just loved singing and letting people hear my music."

"He's a mentor to me. My career was kick-started by him and so I'm always very thankful for the interest he showed and the support he gave, and even though I didn't actually sign to his label, he still wanted to work with me. As I was finishing up my album, we organised a recording session in L.A. and recorded a song called 'Turn Around.' On the inside I was so excited, but on the outside I had to act normal and cool." Who else have you recorded with? "I had a chance to work with Pharrell Williams and Frank Ocean on my album as well." Working with Ne-Yo and Pharrell was great, it really gives you that extra drive when he’s behind you.

30

How have you coped with fame? Has it changed your life in any way? “Fame has been mad but for me it’s about surrounding myself with the right people to keep me grounded. Depending on where I go I can sometimes get out by himself, however I now need to dodge young girls at Sainsbury which is strange. I get a lot of strange looks like ‘is that him’ and then when fans realise it is, I get chased down the street.” Tell us about your most random fan experience? One time my family came to show at Royal Albert Hall for a charity event— me, Pixie Lott, JLS etc were all performing. My mum and dad came to watch me perform for the first time so when I came off stage I called to say I’ll meet you at the door to say goodbye, thinking it’ll be fine as the show will still be on..NO! Little did we realise it was intermission and the place was packed with fans...Suddenly myself and my manager had to run down the hallways to escape them, which ended in me having to hide in a cupboard till my parents arrived and everything calmed down.”

Quick Fire Who are your current favourite artists right now? I’m really digging 2 Chainz, that’s my get up and go album. It has really great energy. Frank Ocean is another one I’m really into right now, he has a different take on RnB with some elements of old music mixed with some new stuff. And finally, Lana del Ray – I’m a huge fan, really digging her right now. I’d call her ‘boutique’ – which basically means she’s not commercial and some people may not get it – but I think she’s great. How was it working with Jay-Z and Beyonce? Did more ands on with beyonce than jay, in studio with j – what amazes me about him is how he doesn’t write anything down..which is incredible when break down one of Jay-Z’s songs and look at at the number of double and triple etadras he uses in lyrics…that it all in here is incredi ble..really speaks to his intellegane! I’ve tried it but just not very successfully Working with beyonce is def some of the most useless I’ve ever felt..reason being she don’t need help, is that god she does n’t need it..went for tea + song was done.. Who would you like to collaborate with? Barack Obama! He’s not answering his phone right now..maybe the election is taking up all of his time (Vote Obama)..but we gona get to it once he’s back in the White House. www.dyrt.co.uk

Can we expect a tour with this album? I plan to touch the whole planet with this tour. I plan on touring the whole world with this album and am going to do everything in my power to get to each and every one of you! About shows that got cancelled last time— Glasgow I will be back..I give my word! I give you a pinky promise..something which you can’t break! Glasgow people sit tight I will be back! Chill!

The opening track on the new album, R.E.D. is ‘Cracks in Mr Perfect’ what can you tell us about those cracks? The cracks are simple mistakes that us a human beings make. We’re all going to make mistakes in life, it’s what being human is, but as celebrities we’re not allowed to make a mistake. When a celebrity makes a mistake the whole world has something to say about it. I mean I understand it… but basically letting folk know yeah I’m a celebrity and an art ist, but firstly I’m a human being. That’s what important! 34

Movies The first clip from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey has been released. The 35-second teaser features several snippets of previously unseen footage, including the first glimpse of Richard Armitage as Thorin Oakenshield, leader of the Company of Dwarves. The promotional campaign for Peter Jackson's The Hobbit trilogy is building up speed as the first film approaches. Scheduled for its worldwide premiere in Wellington, New Zealand on November 28, the film is slightly shorter than Fellowship of the Ring —albeit by only 10minutes— still running at a whopping 160 minutes long. Director Peter Jackson said: "It's looking like it’s going to be about ten minutes shorter than Fellowship was. So it’s going to be officially our shortest Middle-earth [movie] yet. “I mean, Fellowship was just under three hours and this is about two hours 40 minutes at the moment.” Last week (October 17), the first picture of Elijah Wood as Frodo Baggins was released, alongside new photos of Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins and Ian McKellen as Gandalf. The trilogy's cast also includes Benedict Cumberbatch, Cate Blanchett and Orlando Bloom, The movie opens in cinemas across the UK on December 13.

Wes Craven’s knack as a director has always been his ability to get under your skin. When A Nightmare on Elm Street was released in 1984, he once again put himself out there as a filmmaker who could grab an audience in a stranglehold and not let go for 90 minutes. His presence in his victims’ nightmare is one of the more horrifying conceits in the history of the genre. The real terror of the films is what lies behind the killings – Freddy’s motive for harming these kids. He is visiting the sins of the parents down upon the children.

Movies John Carpenter’s film is blamed for the rash of slasher films that destroyed the genre in the '80s, but "Halloween" possesses a style and intensity that most of its copycats lack. From the opening sequence -- when we see through the eyes of little boy Michael Myers as he stalks and murders his sister -- onward, the film relies on suspense rather than sensationalism. Our fear is caused by what might happen rather than actual events, as Carpenter spends a good amount of time in darkness, making us see things that may or may not be there.

Psycho

2

A group of kids get trapped inside a farm house by an endless stream of flesh-eating zombies. Sounds silly, but director George Romero takes his simple premise and redefines the genre with a shoestring budget. The amount of sadistic gore, the claustrophobic tension, the rising levels of hysteria and an increasingly deflated awareness that a happy ending is impossible make this a nasty classic. There is no hope here, only suffocating terror.

Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho just missed out on the top spot. Created in 1960 Halloween isn’t complete without the sight of that famous Norman Bates slasher shower scene. More than just a film, "Psycho" was a cultural slap in the face with censors trying to ban it, while screaming audiences couldn't get enough of it. Hitchcock pulled out all of his tricks -- shifting audience sympathies, killing off the main character halfway through the film and a ton of macabre humor -- but more importantly he makes the horror internal. Norman Bates isn't a monster in the classic sense; he suggests that the greatest evil can lurk beneath the quietest, most pleasant surface. Definitely one to send a shiver down your spine. 44

Psycho Alfred Hitchcock was a man obsessed with murder who became the master of suspense through movies such as The Man who Knew Too Much, The Birds, Rear Window, Vertigo and Psycho. More than 50 years after the controversial screening of one of his best works, fans are being given the chance to understand the workings of Hitchcock’s mind, in a new movie focusing on Alfred Hitchcock's process of making Psycho. Scarlett Johansson fills the role of Janet Leigh, who was famously killed in the shower scene for her Golden Globe-winning performance as Marion Crane in the 1960 suspense/horror film, while Sir Anthony Hopkins plays Hitchcock and Helen Mirren plays his wife, Alma Reville. Hitchcock will debut in US cinemas on November 23, with the UK release date yet to be confirmed.

Twilight The Twilight franchise is coming to an end (moviewise) with the highly anticipated release of Breaking Dawn Part 2, and while you may think you know how it ends—thanks to the Stephenie Meyer’s books— fans are in for a surprise as we’ve learnt things aren’t as they seem. "It's so good," said Kristin Stewart when asked for her thoughts on seeing a finished cut. "It's good, it's really weird. I think everyone expects that but I'm really proud of Bill [Condon] and I'm really happy with how it closes. It's a lot to take." Speaking to the film's ending, we asked Kristin if she feels that it is a proper send-off to the franchise and its beloved characters. "Yes, I think so," she said. "I hope not everyone knows exactly how that goes down. I think maybe they do, but even if you do know what happens, the end throws you for a loop, even if you're expecting it." Asked if her perspective on fear and challenging herself has changed after playing the more physically demanding role of vampire Bella in the end of the series, Kristen admitted “it's important to be OK with your own fears." "If you're an honest person you'll make mistakes, but it'll be OK," she tells Mexican magazine 15 a 20, "The most interesting things happen after making mistakes." "I'm taking her with me," Stewart says of Bella. "I won't have to miss her...I don't feel like I have to come back and do something for her. It sounds weird, but I feel close to all the characters I've played."

Cullens welcome a new addition www.dyrt.co.uk

Meet Edward and Bella’s baby girl Mackenzie Foy talks candidly about being part of TheTwilight Saga 54

Mackenzie Foy is used to the camera having been a model since she was aged four, now the 11-year-old has been cast as Renesmee Cullen, the half human half vampire hybrid daughter of Edward and Bella Cullen, in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2. Young, giggly and as sweet as sugar, Mackenzie reveals she hasn’t read actually read any of the Twilight books and that she was only familiar with the first two movies before being given the role of her lifetime. Q: So, how much about Twilight did you know before you were cast for the part? Mackenzie: “I knew about the first movie and the second movie.” So you didn’t know they had a vampire hybrid baby? Mackenzie: “I did kind of know because my friends would talk about it at Tae Kwon Do, and they would talk about the books and stuff to me.” Have you since then read any of the books?

Twilight Q: What did you learn about acting from the other cast members? Mackenzie: Well, I learned the most by watching them because they would be themselves and then they would become the character that they become. Is there one thing that you learned by watching one person in particular, that you took in and thought “I want to be able to do that”? Mackenzie: There’s some cool stunts that everyone did, there’s a couple of flips and I thought that was very cool. What was your first time meeting, Taylor, Kristen and Rob like? M: Well I met Kristen and Rob in the hair and make up trailer, and I think the first time I met Taylor was… in the first scene actually. Did you get a chance to interact with the other actors who play the Cullens?

Mackenzie: “No, I’m not allowed to read them yet.”

Mackenzie: I did! With Miss Nikki we had American Idol night, and I played football with Taylor, I’m not very good at it (laughs).

Since you’re not allowed to read the books, were you allowed to watched the first Twilight movie?

When you wrapped up did they show up for your last scene?

Mackenzie: “I did. I watched the first and the second one, and I saw bits and pieces of Part 1. “I wasn’t allowed to watch the honeymoon, but I got to watch the wedding, and I sat through the birth scene. So what was your favourite part in the movies that you’ve seen? Mackenzie: “I think they’re all really good. I like in the first one, how… I just like the first one. And I like the second one too, and all the parts I saw of Part 1.”

Mackenzie: Yeah, it was just me and Kristen. Who was the biggest prankster on set? Or the biggest jokester? Mackenzie: Rob was pretty funny. He had some pretty funny jokes. He really mad me laugh. What’s your favourite part of being Renesmee? Mackenzie: I like all of it. It was my first movie character, and she’s a really good character to play because there’s just so many things involved in the character.

Make sure to stick around for the end credits Nikki Reed reveals the cast have one final ‘Thrilling’ surprise in store for Twihard fans

Nikki Reed, who plays vampire Rosalie in the movie, has revealed the cast have one more surprise in store for fans— a post-credits scene showing all 150 cast members performing a choreographed dance number—and apparently it was a surprise only to the film's director, Bill Condon. "It was a surprise moment on set that was pretty incredible," the 24-yearold said. "That day, there were about 150 of us, and we all came together and surprised Bill.

It took a couple of practice runs, and we had one drill sergeant who was in charge of gathering everyone. I got really into it. I was so into it that I wanted to be in the front row." Reed's not the only one who's talked about the scene. Kellan Lutz, who plays vampire Emmett Cullen— Rosalie's husband—has said the cast has been encouraged to tell fans not to leave the theater early. "They're really going to love it, and Bill even told me to tell fans to stay for the credits — a really special thing is happening after the surprise ending." 56

Windows 8 marks what is arguably the most radical tech launch of the year. It's Windows reimagined and reinvented from a solid core of Windows 7 speed and reliability. It's an all-new touch interface. It's a new Windows for new devices. And it's easy to try now—whether you're installing it for the first time, or moving from Windows 8 Consumer Preview. Windows 8 and Windows RT are focused on your life—your friends and family, your apps, and your stuff. With new things like the Start screen, charms, and a Microsoft account, you can spend less time searching and more time doing. And then there's the Windows Store, a completely new marketplace for apps. Windows already comes with some apps, but you can get many more in the Store. There's also a new web browser that's faster, safer, and more intuitive: Internet Explorer 10. No matter where you are in Windows 8 or Windows RT, the charms help you do the things you do most often, like search, share links and photos, connect devices, and change settings. What you can do with the charms can change depending on if you're on the Start screen or using an app, so start exploring. The five charms—Search, Share, Start, Devices, and Settings—are always available on the right side of your screen.

Big Issue in the North magazine goes digital The Big Issue magazine, now a traditional feature of the High Street in many of the UK's major cities, is going digital. It will not mean the end of the vendors - homeless people who rely on the income they make from sales. Instead they will sell a token offering online access to the magazine alongside the hard copies.

Skype slashes battery use for Windows 8 system launch Skype's video chat software has been re-engineered to radically cut its energy use on the upcoming Windows 8 operating systems. The application is designed to stop using the computer's central processing unit (CPU) when it is left to run in the background. It means users can receive calls or instant messages without the risk of exhausting their laptop battery. The move may help Skype compete against Oovoo, Google Talk and other rivals. Microsoft bought Skype for $8.5bn (£5.3bn) last year.

Technology Sit down in front of the new iMac and something incredible happens: the world around you seems to disappear, and you lose yourself in the big, beautiful display. To create an experience this immersive, Apple pushed every limit, rethought every detail and advanced iMac in the most astonishing ways.

The ultimate all-in-one. Honed to the cutting edge. The first iMac was a revolution: an all-in-one computer that put everything - display, processor, graphics, storage, memory and more — inside one simple, stylish enclosure. The new iMac includes the most advanced, most brilliant desktop display Apple ever built, and it’s filled with the latest high-performance technologies. Yet it’s just 5mm thin at its edge with up to 40 per cent less volume than the previous generation. To do all that required unprecedented feats of engineering - and imagination. Apple invented new technologies, pioneered new manufacturing techniques and devised all-new ways to do more in less space.

Now you’re closer to the action. The new iMac display is not set behind the cover glass — it’s right up against it. The LCD itself is 5mm thinner than before.

Innovations at the molecular level. Apple found a process called friction-stir welding to join the front and back of the new iMac as it was so thin. It’s commonly used on airplane wings, rocket booster tanks and other parts that simply can’t fail. This process uses a combination of intense friction-generated heat and pressure to intermix the molecules of the two aluminium surfaces — creating a seamless, precise and super-strong join. You may not see it, but the new iMac wouldn’t be possible without it.

At 7.9 inches, it’s per fectly sized to deliver an experience every bit as big as iPad. With advanced Wi-Fi that’s up to twice as fast as any previous-generation iPad and access to fast mobile data networks around the world, iPad mini lets you download content, stream video and browse the web at amazing speeds.

Apple victory as Samsung loses US trade ruling A US International Trade Commission judge, in a preliminary ruling, said Samsung infringed four of Apple's intellectual property patents. The patents include one that relates to the front face of the iPhone and one for touch-screen technology. It is another win for Apple, after it was awarded $1.05bn (£652m) in damages by a jury in a separate case in August. The ITC can block the import of products into the US. The judge's ruling will go in front of a full commission, which is scheduled to conclude its investigation in February.
