ART IS... ENDLESS!!!

Gracon is a Mexican Company that was created about 5 years ago, when its creator Alejandra Contreras, was dedicated to sell baby items, she was looking for decorative figures to decorate her son’s party, things that she could not find in the Mexican’s market and she started to look for it through the internet until she found a Chilean company dedicated to events decorations, and used characters as the ones Alejandra was looking for, but she didn’t know what they were made of so she had the idea to try with different materials until she found Unicel. She started to work it until she got something similar to what she had seen from the Chilean Company, while she was making them she was al-

so publishing on Facebook, the step by step, which called a lot of attention, she has over 4000 followers of her sales page, they started to request different items, such as Names, bedroom decorations, etc. it became a fantastic market opportunity but above all for her, it became an obsession to be able to create amazing pieces well finished and professional, not only with her company’s inspiration in mind but also with other countries artists in mind, artists from countries such as Colombia, Brazil and Indonesia.

21

ART IN ALL ITS GLORY Little by little she was mimicking their techniques, using the trial and error technique. That is how, after investing a lot of time, effort and material she was able to develop her own technique, completely selftaught. She worked alone for the first three years and after that, due to the amount of work, it become a necessity to find some help. Today, Gracon is a small but well established Company that feeds three families and has a workshop, in which you can even find

specially created tools, adapted to develop different techniques to work with unicel and also shares the knowledge she has won, from her establishment, with people who require her support. Presently they are getting ready to give their first in-person class, which will take place at Leรณn Guanajuato City.

IMAGIN...ART Hello, My name is José Gerardo Bazan, AKA “Coco”, I am 34 years old, I am Argentinian born in Trelew City, located at Chubut Province but I moved to Santa Fe Capital about approximately 15 years ago. I married a year and a half ago. Currently I work in a factory as a mechanic carrying out maintenance activities. The taste and enthusiasm to recycle Iron has been a part of my life for many year, inherited from my father, he was a blacksmith and my artistic part comes from my mom, she was a craftswoman, a painter, she also loved to recycle among other things. My process is as follow: First, I imagine the shape, statue or figure I want to make, then I look for old pieces of iron and I mold them with the shape that I need, it is hobby and I really enjoy it. I don’t have a lot of room at home to carry on this Hobby. My first work was a Chopper motorbike that I made as a gift for a friend, then I made a spider, then a mantis, then a scorpion, then a 50 cm’s truck, a car and I have also made bottle racks with iron. I like to innovate though recycling… I have kept some of this things and I have given away others. I hope someday to have my own workshop and my metal scraps so I can fully dedicate myself to this art that I am so passionate about.

Globos Dorado (Dorado Balloons) My name is Oswaldo Dorado, I am 23 year old and I am from Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. When I finished High school, I was unable to attend college because some health issues, once I recovered I developed an interest in working with balloons so I started to research about decorations, which made me a fan of a local decorator, after leaving many job applications, I was able to speak directly with her and she granted me the opportunity to work for her and to learn the trade.

After that, I became interested in the making of balloon sculptures and now, that I am a freelance worker, I try to create sculptures and, although I still have a long way to go and I still have many things to learn, everything that I do, I do it with my heart in it, I am very passionate about balloon’s art. This year I have started my own business of Balloon decorations, it is named “Globos Dorado (Dorado Balloons).

WHO PERSEVERES WILL ACCOMPLISH...

At the end of 2001, Paulo was unemployed and trying to find a job, after a while he received a proposal from a friend, to buy with her a store called “Fabrica de Sueños” (dreams factory). At the time the company worked in sales and rent of party supplies and it was located at Reinoldo Ray Street, Haraguá do Sul midtown. It was one of only a few companies involved in this kind of trade. Paulo, without having any experience in the area, accepted this challenge and on December 2001, they purchased the company, since the previous owner was also his friend she allowed him some purchase facilities.

On December of the following year, his partner decided to leave the business and sold her half to him. The first years were to learn how to administrate the business and to get familiar with the decoration business, it was a different time, there were not many courses in the area nor material to research on the internet as there is now, but he, next to the biggest Brazilian Balloon artist, decided to change the standards of the people in the area, Obrigado Paulo Henrique

1.- The first Soccer World Cup was played at Montevideo, Uruguay’s capital, in 1930. And this was the only time that all the games were played in this city. The French player, Lucien Laurent, was the first player to score a goal in a world cup. 2.- An Italian Leader hide the trophy of the World Cup, that was win by Italy on 1938, under a mattress to avoid for it to fall into Nazis’s hands during the Second World War. 3.- The soccer game which has had the most attendance in a world cup – and also in Soccer’s History- was the final between Uruguay and Brazil on 1950’s World Cup: 199.854 spectators attended to Maracaná stadium, in which Uruguay was the World’s Soccer Champion. 4.- The Indian players did not participated in Brazil’s soccer world cup on 1950 because they were not allowed to play barefooted, as they were used to do it in their country. 5.- The world cup has always been an object of desire to thieves and it was stolen many times. One of this times happened before England’s World Cup on 1966, the cup was taken from its exhibition place and found by a dog at an empty land. 6.- The biggest wide margin in a game happened in Spain in 1982, with the marker on Hungary 10 – El Salvador 17.- During a game between Mexico and Bulgaria in the 1994 USA World Cup one of the goals was broken. But that was not a big problem: the personnel of the Giants Stadium of New Jersey replaced it by a new goal in only a few minutes.

This special edition “Russia Soccer’s World Cup 2018”, deserves a special and personal contribution. With this motivation I share this work and these words that I hope have the effect of joining us together, to join our countries and our people. Because, before anything, Soccer (and decoration) is to enjoy team work, it is to feel the colors of our homeland (of our work) and to respect our mother country and other people’s homeland (other people’s work). “I was born in Spain, but I am Mexican in heart” that is the first thing you will know about me when you are starting to get to know me. I am a proud immigrant, a proud dreamer, I dream with a better future. Spain is my root, my basis, my training; Mexico is my core, my growth, my survival instinct raised to its highest capability. In short, this Mar would have never existed as today without the fusion between Europe and Latin America, paella and pozole, red wine in the summer and tequila, flamenco and the band. My heart is inked red, yellow, white and green. Red Fury everywhere! Go Mexico, G…! (Yes, yes that is what you are thinking of) This work of union of flags was made by the students that participated in one of my classes in Guadalajara, Jalisco, which was organized by Livy García and the main motivation for this course was getting together Mexicans and Spaniards. #Proudteacher.
