Welcome to the
Fashion Show!
The Fashion Show Committee is extremely pleased to present you with The Fashion Show 2009. After months of making, begging and borrowing outfits, girls from throughout the school have come together to give to you this fantastic display of creative talent and designing flair. As the Production Team,
we have been responsible for organising and pulling together the show, something that has been a rewarding and highly enjoyable experience. The main aim of the show is to provide an opportunity for girls to work together and take the lead in putting on a show of their own. We are proud and excited to be hosting the first event in the new Bishop Centre, and we hope that this show will demonstrate the fantastic potential of the space.
Programme Note:
We hope to have included all girls taking part. However some groups have only finalised their teams recently. We hope no one has been left out.

In Aid Of‌ The Fashion Show has been organised not only to showcase designing and creative talent throughout the school, but also in order to raise money for two very important charities: The Godolphin and Latymer Bursary Fund and Kids Company. The Godolphin and Latymer Bursary Fund enables our school to open itself to an increasing number of people, irrespective of their financial situation. By tradition, Godolphin & Latymer has a longstanding commitment to ensuring that its education is accessible to girls of intellectual promise from all backgrounds. Until 1976, it was a grammar school within the state system and charged no fees. The decision to become independent to preserve its academic tradition meant that reluctantly school fees had to be charged. Following the withdrawal of the Government Assisted Places Scheme in 1997, the School established its own Bursary Fund to maintain this accessibility as well as assisting families who fall on hard times after their daughters have joined the school. Kids Company is a charity founded in 1996 by Camila Batmanghelidjh, which provides practical, emotional and educational support to vulnerable inner-city children and young people. The charity operates through two centres in south London and aims to provide a welcoming environment for young people, many of whom are suffering from chronic deprivation, trauma and neglect. Kids Company really does make a difference; in 2008, 81% of the people the charity had helped had reintegrated into education, training or employment. The money raised from the Fashion Show will go towards providing children with access to healthcare, education, therapy, welfare support and emergency housing.
School Chic ‘The School Uniform section brings together the different personalities that can be found at Godolphin and how their styles differ from one another. We have manipulated a basic uniform by adding accessories and items of clothing to represent different characters in school e.g. sporty kids and ‘Gossip Girl’
