International Baccalaureate Diploma Results Summer 2011 The IB Diploma was taken by 16 candidates who achieved outstanding success this year. In 2010, one of our girls achieved the perfect score of 45 points and this year, we doubled our success with two girls gaining the maximum score, a standard attained by less than 1% of students worldwide. The IB Diploma involves studying six subjects over two years, three of these subjects at Higher Level and three at Standard Level. Each subject is worth seven points and there are up to three additional core points available for the combined marks of the Extended Essay and the Theory of Knowledge. The average diploma score for our school this year was 38.5 points. Nine girls scored 38 points or more with seven of these scoring over 40 points. In the Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge, 9 girls achieved at least 2 core points and 11 of the Extended Essays were graded A or B.
