IB Results Summer 2010 The IB Diploma was taken by 33 candidates this year, representing our fourth group to complete the programme at Godolphin. The IB Diploma involves studying six subjects over two years, three of these subjects at Higher Level and three at Standard Level. Each subject is worth a maximum of seven points and there are up to three core points available for the combined marks of the Extended Essay and the Theory of Knowledge. The average diploma score for our school this year was 37.24% This year, for the first time at Godolphin, one of our students achieved the maximum Diploma score of 45 points, which is usually achieved by only 0.2% of students worldwide. In addition, four girls just missed the maximum score by one point, each scoring 44 points, an excellent achievement. In total, 13 out of this year’s girls achieved 39 points or more, representing 39% of the cohort. In the Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge, nine girls (27%) achieved all three core points, 13 girls (39%) achieved two core points and seven girls (21%) achieved one core point. In addition, 79% of this year’s Extended Essays were graded A or B.
