Concurrent Classes

Concurrent Classes

Attention High School Students: Get a head start on your college career!

Concurrent credit is a great way for high school students to earn both college credit and high school credit simultaneously. Concurrent enrollment is the enrollment of a high school student in post-secondary education for high school credit and college-level credit (1000 and 2000 level courses). This program is designed for students in grades 9th-12th. Students apply for admission to EACC and once admitted, have the opportunity to take full advantage of this unique opportunity to learn. EACC will provide qualified instructors at your school or online, or the school district may provide appropriately credentialed instructors according to the Arkansas Division of Higher Education (ADHE) standards.

“I have now been taking concurrent college classes for three years. I would definitely say this has helped me so much to shorten the amount of time I will spend in college in the future. When I graduate high school I will also graduate from EACC with my associate’s degee. I am very thankful for the opportunity to start college early.”

Stop the Bleed

According to the National Trauma Institute, hemorrhaging is responsible for almost 35% of pre-hospital deaths and 40% of deaths in the first twenty-four hours after a traumatic event. Far too many deaths occur because of the inability to stop hemorrhaging and the time it takes to transport an injured person to a medical facility. Whether a professional rescuer or a layperson, this class will teach you how to administer simple medical care to victims that will stop hemorrhaging and increase the survival rate.

HeartSaver CPR

Hands-Only CPR can save lives. Anyone who experiences cardiac arrest at home, work, or in a public location dies because they do not receive immediate CPR from someone on the scene. As a bystander, do not be afraid. Your actions can only help. Hands-Only CPR performed by a bystander has shown to be as effective as CPR with breaths in the first few minutes of an out-of-hospital sudden cardiac arrest for an adult victim. Hands-Only CPR is CPR without mouth-to-mouth breaths. People who see an adult collapse in an “out-of-hospital” setting recommend it for use.
