Slammin’ Jammin’ Music Lessons

Whether you are brand new to guitar or need to build on the basics that you have already been taught, instructor John Shepherd will supply you with the tools you need to improve and play like a star! 8 lessons will cover hand techniques, reading music, chording, etc., while working one on one with an experienced music instructor. Doretha James will help students design a mural and learn how to transfer their drawings into larger images using concepts such as scale, grids, and blocking-in. At the end of camp, campers will create their mural on a cross-walk located in downtown Forrest City. Barnyard Palooza

If your child loves animals, they will have a blast in this hands-on class. Participants will do art projects pertaining to farm animals, as well as learn about the different kinds of animals. Kids on Campus Crime Solvers

Junior Golf Camp

Join Susan Hammonds to learn the fundamentals of golf. Campers will work on gripping, swinging, chipping, and putting in a fun and positive environment. This camp is designed for beginning and intermediate players wanting to learn the techniques, as well as the rules of golf. If you have clubs, bring them. Calling all detectives! There’s a mystery that needs to be solved. Become a crime lab expert for a week of hands-on science using super-sleuthing skills to solve a crime. Sharpen your observation and classification skills. It’s all in the evidence. Will you be the top-notch detective who solves the crime? Hogwarts School of Wizardry and Writing

Youth Horseback Riding

Have a child that is horse crazy? This camp is for any camper that has never been on a horse to campers that ride all the time. This camp will teach the basics of learning about horse health, care and grooming, use and care of tack, basic horsemanship, and equine safety and etiquette. What if Harry was sorted into Slytherin or if he was never in the Triwizard Tournament? Here’s your opportunity to write your own Harry Potter fan fiction! In this creative writing camp, you’ll create new characters, publish your own issue of The Daily Prophet, design new cover illustrations for the Harry Potter novels, and write your own prequel, sequel, or spin-off story of the wizarding world of Harry Potter. Basketball Camp Let’s Grow a Garden!

Join Melissa Marsh for a fun week of learning how to start, grow, and care for a wonderful garden! Whether in pots, yards, or windows, if you like to play in the dirt, you will love growing flowers, vegetables, herbs and more! You will not want to miss this week of summertime fun! Discover the magic of science! Get answers to all of your big questionsWhat happens in the dark? What is a germ? How do magnets work? How can I make ice cream? You’ll experiment with real scientific principles to satisfy your natural curiosity of the world around you. It’s lots of hands-on fun as you discover sizzling summer science sensations! SENSEsational Science

Explore all of your senses in this exciting science class. These cool and simple, but effective, science experiments will have you begging for more while stimulating your mind. Conditioning and Agility Camp

Participants in this speed camp will understand and learn the proper mechanics of conditioning. Learning this early will enhance the athlete’s performance for years to come. This conditioning and agility camp is designed for athletes of all sports and ability levels. Wear tennis shoes and bring water bottles. Get your Baking on!

Stir, blend, measure, mix, and bake! Join Abby Wages, as you learn to make lots of yummy treats! You will be amazed at how much math you use when baking. Exploring the Delta

Cissy Smith is going to take you on a journey around the Delta. Special stops include visiting the 9 murals around Forrest City that were painted by Kathy Martin followed with a stop at the St. Francis County Museum. Then off to other towns to see the Arkansas Delta as the true jewel with a culture and history as unique as the landscape. Nestled up against the mighty Mississippi River, there is something for everyone to see! Get ready to travel! Artists R Us

Calling all artists! Imagination and creativity will be utilized in this FUNtastic art class. Each artist will enjoy a variety of open-ended art activities daily. We will splatter, splash and squish as we work our way through a week of exploring various mediums while creating our own unique art masterpieces. Kids on Campus Football Camp

Nick Williams, professional football player for the Arkansas Twisters, will teach you the basics of football. Work on offense, defense, teamwork, agility, and learn plays in a fun and positive environment. This camp is designed for beginning and intermediate players and emphasizes learning to play together effectively as a team. Tie Dye your Summer

Come get your tie dye on! Doretha James is going to show you the ways of tie dying. You will make colorful designs that are sure to be a show stopper when you wear them! Welcome Summer Campers!! Congratulations to all of the area students that were recommended by their teachers for EACC’S 38th annual Summer Enrichment Camp during the week of July 12th - 15th. Students will be able to let their imaginations soar with this year’s theme Out of this World! Approximately 100 students will explore, build, and create fun filled, hands-on STEM activities. The annual camp will enhance creative problem solving and critical thinking skills. Out of this World will encourage exploration and ignite the innovator in every kid. Summer Enrichment Camp is an annual 4-day program designed to provide fun and challenging enrichment for academic achievers entering grades 2nd - 6th.

Sparkle like a Unicorn

Calling all kids that love unicorns. You don’t want to miss this fun camp! The week will be filled with Rainbows, Unicorns, Sparkles and Gold. Under the Sea!

Play with Clay Pottery Camp

Create your own one-of-a-kind pieces! Using state of the art equipment, you will create and take home masterpieces with the help of experienced artist and teacher, Mimi Cooper. Clay is sometimes a muddy encounter, so dress appropriately. Fee includes all needed materials. Missoula Children’s Theatre Camp

Make plans to be a part of EACC’s 11th annual Children’s Theater Camp. Stretch your creativity and bravery muscles through daily rehearsals for Hansel and Gretel. Once casting is complete, you will become involved with comedy, acting, singing and dancing, as well as staging, scenery design and development. The camp program culminates in a dress rehearsal and a public performance on Friday, July 30th at 6:00 p.m. Children must be available to rehearse for the entire week between the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. Monday - Friday, July 26th - 30th 9:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. Friday, July 30th 5:00 p.m. until performance is over. Personal Interest/ Senior Sage Conditioning

The first half of the class is geared toward cardiovascular improvement. The second half of the class is weightlifting with small dumbbells. Students are required to have a yoga mat and their own small dumbbells. Yoga

Yoga is designed to connect the mind and body. Instructors will teach participants to focus on strength and balance movements designed to increase flexibility and reduce stress. This class is appropriate for all fitness levels. Wear comfortable clothing and don’t forget to bring a yoga mat to class. Personal Interest/ Senior Sage Applied Piano (MUS 1031 C1)

This class is a private instruction class. It typically meets one-half hour or one hour per week. All applied class instruction courses require five hours of practice per week for every half-hour of individual instruction. Lab fee is $25 for one-half hour per week and $50 for a one-hour per week. Concurrent Classes Attention High School Students: Get a head start on your college career! Concurrent credit is a great way for high school students to earn both college credit and high school credit simultaneously. Concurrent enrollment is the enrollment of a high school student in post-secondary education for high school credit and college-level credit (1000 and 2000 level courses). This program is designed for students in grades 9th-12th. Students apply for admission to EACC and once admitted, have the opportunity to take full advantage of this unique opportunity to learn. EACC will provide qualified instructors at your school or online, or the school district may provide appropriately credentialed instructors according to the Arkansas Department of Higher Education (ADHE) standards. Make your summer count Concurrent Credit Summer Tuition Waiver! EACC has established a tuition waiver for summer coursework to students who have successfully completed at least six (6) credit hours in East Arkansas Community College’s Concurrent Credit. The waiver may cover up to one class per summer term.

Professional Development Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs

Summer Manufacturing Camp This one week summer camp will introduce students to the fascinating, high-tech career choices available to them in today’s advanced manufacturing industry. This camp allows students to make something with their own hands, sparking their imagination and encouraging them to consider a career in manufacturing. Monday - Thursday, June 7th - 10th Ages 14 -16 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Fee: $65

Healthcare Provider CPR

The Healthcare Provider course teaches CPR skills for helping victims of all ages (including ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device, and oxygen); use of an automated external defibrillator (AED); and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO). This course is intended for participants who provide health care to patients in a wide variety of settings. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

ACLS is an advanced, instructor-led classroom course that highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, system of care and immediate post-cardiac-arrest care. It also covers airway management and related pharmacology. ACLS is designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest and other cardiovascular emergencies. PALS uses a series of stimulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation and team dynamics. Registration

Classes are filled on a first-come first-serve basis, and early registration is encouraged. Please note that fees are due upon registration to reserve a space in a class. A student is not officially enrolled in a class until payment is received.

Cancellation Policy

A 100% refund is given when a course is cancelled by the College. EACC reserves the right to cancel any class due to insufficient enrollment. Refund checks are usually mailed within two to three weeks.

A transferable voucher may be given for the amount of the class if a student cancels 48 hours prior to the start of the class. *Excludes Summer Enrichment Camp*
