Summer at EACC is a unique and exciting learning opportunity for preschoolers through adults. Through participation in one or more of the many available community education classes, students can grow intellectually, physically, creatively, and socially. The FUN takes place all summer long!

Youth Horseback Riding

Have a child that is horse crazy? This camp is for any camper that has never been on a horse to campers that ride all the time. This camp will teach the basics of learning about horse health, care and grooming, use and care of tack, basic horsemanship, and equine safety and etiquette.

Black Belt Ninja

Whether they’ve never tried karate before or they are a longstanding student, if you’re looking to keep your kids moving this summer, this is the camp for your kids! Bring It On - Cheerleading

Kids on Campus cheerleading teaches young athletes all the essential skills to lead the crowd and support the home team. Collegiate cheerleader Megan Hess will lead cheer camp. Each camper will learn cheers, proper hand and body movements as well as jumping techniques. There is no stunting, just a big focus on fun while each cheerleader learns important life skills such as teambuilding and leadership.

Junior Golf Camp

Join Susan Hammonds to learn the fundamentals of golf. Campers will work on gripping, swinging, chipping, and putting in a fun and positive environment. This camp is designed for beginning and intermediate players wanting to learn the techniques, as well as the rules of golf.

Spike-It

Volleyball takes the energy and excitement of this great team sport and puts it all together into one fun-filled camp. All aspects of the game are taught through drills and exercises that focus on passing, setting, hitting and serving. This co-ed program is designed for the beginner to intermediate player and will incorporate essential life lessons such as teamwork and sportsmanship. Coach Heather Hawk will assist each athlete in developing the fundamental skills of the game through game-based drills.

Students will learn how to make plushies or small plush pillows. Campers will be able to put their own unique spin on the designs, such as adding eyes, smiles, and more..

The Three Little Pigs Adventure

All children love the story of The Three Little Pigs. In this camp each child will create his or her own adventure based on the story. They will also make face masks, and design and construct the three pigs’ houses using straw, sticks, rocks, and a variety of art materials.

Out of this World Winged Creatures

Unicorns, fairies, and dragons are mythical creatures portrayed in current literature, movies, television, and books. Students will use their imaginations and creativity to create art in 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional form to depict one or more of these elusive creatures.

Operation Yo-Yo

Social media artist Matt Mullins will make your head spin with endless yo-yo tricks and tips, and a little bit of magic. Beginners and intermediates will learn and practice classic tricks along with receiving their very own high quality long spinning yo-yo to use during camp and to take home at the end of camp. Students will experince an environment built to encourage friendship, mentorship, and the self discovery. Yes, it’s that fun. Operation Yo-Yo might be the most fun your campers will have all year.

A Bug’s Life

Insects, like bees, have a distinct life cycle. Teaching kids about life cycles is a great way to help children understand the natural world. Learning about the life cycles of insects like bees is a great way to help your children understand these amazing creatures.

Missoula Children’s Theatre Camp

Make plans to be a part of EACC’s 14 th annual Children’s Theater Camp. Stretch your creativity and bravery muscles through daily rehearsals for Sleeping Beauty . Once casting is complete, you will become involved with comedy, acting, singing and dancing, as well as staging, scenery design and development. The camp program culminates in a dress rehearsal and a public performance on Friday, June 28 th at 6:00 p.m. Children must be available to rehearse for the entire week between the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.

Girls worry about how the world views them, and they don’t always feel comfortable about themselves or social settings. Welcome Summer Campers!!

Congratulations to all of the area students who were recommended by their teachers for EACC’S 41st annual Summer Enrichment Camp during the week of July 8th - 11th. Students will be able to let their imaginations soar with this year’s theme Hustle & Bustle Energy: The Science of Motion! Approximately 100 students will study force and motion by discovering the many ways the laws of physics affect our reality through hands-on science experiments that involve technology, engineering, art, and math. This STEAM adventure will include project-based learning, coding, and outdoor fun!

Summer Enrichment Camp is an annual 4-day program designed to provide fun and challenging enrichment for academic achievers entering grades 2nd - 6th.

Whatever your chosen method, creating a keepsake of events, thoughts, and feelings is a great way to de-stress and share important ideas. C.S.I. EACC

Would you like to be a crime scene investigator? In our CSI camp, Buck Morris will teach students to use real-life forensic techniques to solve crimes. Their experiences will include hands-on activities such as collecting fingerprints, making footprint casts, creating a DNA profile of the subject, analyzing blood spatter, and much, much more!

Home Sweet Home

Experience art that is totally edible! This class will be “sweet” from beginning to end. Kids will decorate pre-made cookies with their unique designs. Then, students will advance to the big finale, where they will design, assemble, and decorate a gingerbread house with graham crackers, cereal, cookies and delectable candies. These sweet masterpieces will be drenched and bedazzled from top to bottom with all materials that are edible.

The Little Mermaid

This class will be inspired by the movie “The Little Mermaid.”

If you like paper dolls and playing dress up, then this class is for you. Students will adorn their mermaid with a wardrobe, make wearable jewelry from beads, decorate rocks, and create a beach scene using sand and sea shells.

Let Your Garden Grow

Plants need a few basic things to survive: soil, water, and sunlight. When you start your garden, make sure you plant everything in an area where there is good, healthy dirt. Campers will seed and plant their garden, learn how to water regularly, and make sure their plants get enough sunlight so they can watch their new gardens grow.

Conditioning**

AR Enhanced Concealed Carry Course

Classroom experience and firing qualification (to be held at a local range) meets the 2017 changes to A.C.A. §§ 5-73-101 to -324. The ECHCL gives a licensee the ability to carry and possess a concealed handgun in more locations than the standard AR CHCL. The course training requirements are significantly more detailed and in-depth compared to the standard AR CHCL with more detailed classroom training in aspects of self-defense with a firearm, as well as a minimum accuracy on timed live-fire qualification requirements. Participants must be 21 years of age and a resident of the State of Arkansas. In addition, participants must already possess an Arkansas CHCL or must complete the basic Arkansas Concealed Carry class first.

Yoga**

Yoga is designed to connect the mind and body. Instructors will teach participants to focus on strength and balance movements designed to increase flexibility and reduce stress. This class is a private instruction class. It typically meets one-half hour or one hour per week. All applied class instruction courses require five hours of practice per week for every half-hour of individual instruction. Lab fee is $25 for one-half hour per week and $50 for a one-hour per week. AR Concealed Carry Course

Taught by certified concealed handgun safety instructor Buck Morris, this course offers a safe, friendly environment for Arkansas residents to qualify to conceal a handgun with a permit (license). Classroom experience and firing qualification (to be held at a local range) meets the requirements of Arkansas Act 419 of 1995. Participants must be 21 years of age and a resident of the State of Arkansas.

Early College Boot Camp

Do you know what tomorrow is??...YOUR FUTURE! You don’t have to wait until your junior or senior year in high school to decide what you want to do beyond graduating. EACC wants to help you with this by offering you an EARLY COLLEGE BOOT CAMP. Knowledge is very important in all aspects of life and at this exciting boot camp, we will be (mentally) preparing you for what college life looks like. Students get hands on experience with some of our top programs, tour our beautiful campus, hear from and interact with some amazing current and former students. Join EACC this summer and get an early start on your future!!

Concurrent Credit

High School Students: Get a head start on your degree or career!

Concurrent credit is a great way for high school students to earn both college and high school credit simultaneously. Concurrent enrollment is the enrollment of a high school student in post-secondary education for high school and college-level credit (1000 and 2000 level courses). This program is designed for students in grades 9 th-12th. Students apply for admission to EACC and once admitted, have the opportunity to take full advantage of this opportunity to learn. EACC will provide qualified instructors at your school or online, or the school district may provide appropriately credentialed instructors according to the Arkansas Division of Higher Education (ADHE) standards.

Make your summer count with the Concurrent Credit Summer Tuition Waiver!

EACC has established a tuition waiver for summer coursework to students who have successfully completed at least six (6) credit hours in East Arkansas Community College’s Concurrent Credit. The waiver may cover up to one class per summer term.

Secondary Career Center

EACC’s Secondary Career Center assists high school students in making more informed career choices. Students select a technical program of study based on their aptitude and interest. ESCC prepares students for the world of work upon high school graduation. Programs teach students marketable skills and lead to professional certifications, certificates of proficiency, or technical certificates. Students are encouraged to continue their education after high school. ESCC classes are credited at both the high school and college level, and students acquire college credits while in high school which will count toward a degree, certificate, or advanced certification program.

Registration

Classes are filled on a first-come first-serve basis, and early registration is encouraged. Please note that fees are due upon registration to reserve a space in a class. A student is not officially enrolled in a class until payment is received.

Cancellation Policy

A 100% refund is given when a course is cancelled by the College. EACC reserves the right to cancel any class due to insufficient enrollment. Refund checks are usually mailed within two to three weeks.

Healthcare Provider CPR teaches CPR skills for helping victims of all ages (including ventalation with a barrier device, a bag mask device, and oxygen); use of an automated external defibrillator (AED); and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO). This course is intended for participants who provide healthcare to patients in a variety of settings.
