ESTONIA – TAKING TRADITIONS TO THE NEW HORIZON Estonia is the ofﬁcial partner country of hanseboot 2013.

The ofﬁcial partner country at hanseboot 2013 is Estonia. The sea partnership between Estonia and Germany goes back to the heydays of the medieval union in politics and trade – namely the Hanseatic League. Tallinn, which was called Reval at that time, was the most eastern bastion and trade location of the Hanseatic League. Salt from Novgorod or furs from Russia started their journey to the trading ports in Northern and Western Europe from Tallinn. Even today the harbours in Tallinn and Muuga are together the largest in the Baltic Sea – both for transporting goods and passengers, and the Estonian shipping company, Tallink, is the largest vessel enterprise in the Baltic Sea region – both with regard to transporting goods and passengers. Besides several transit harbours, Estonia has around 100 smaller harbours, of which approximately 25 are able to accommodate larger sailing yachts. Estonia’s approximately 4000 km coastline offers not only sailing trips but also endless opportunities for surﬁng, water jetting, kayak and canoe tours and diving. A life at and with the sea has become a lifestyle for tens of thousands of Estonians, and for some tourism enterprises it is their main business pillar. It is not only the historic Hanseatic League that connects our two countries. Thanks to the common history throughout the centuries and the cultural exchange, Estonians practice a strong work ethic and have acquired “German” punctuality. Prussian virtues are not considered old-fashioned up here in the north, but they have rather helped us rise to the level we are at today within the short period since the collapse of a nightmare – namely the Soviet Union. Estonia is a small and, at the same time, a strong and reliable partner, a member of the EU, NATO and a natural partner within the Euro zone.

Estland ist das ofﬁzielle Partnerland der hanseboot 2013. Die enge wirtschaftliche und kulturelle Verbindung von Estland und Deutschland geht auf die Glanzzeit der mittelalterlichen Politikund Handelsunion Hanse zurück. Tallinn – damals Reval – war die östlichste Hafenstadt und Handelsstützpunkt der Vereinigung. Von Tallinn aus nahmen Waren wie Honig und Leinen aus Nowgorod oder Pelze und Wachs aus Russland ihre Reise in die Handelshäfen von Nord- und Westeuropa auf. Auch heute ist der Tallinner Hafen gemeinsam mit dem Hafen von Muuga der größte der Ostsee – sowohl, was den Warenverkehr als auch Passagiertransport anbelangt. Die estnische Reederei Tallink ist wiederum das größte Schiffsunternehmen der Ostsee-Region und in beiden Bereichen (Personenschifffahrt, Frachttransport) tätig. Neben etlichen Transithäfen verfügt Estland über gut 100 Kleinhäfen und Anlegeplätze. Ca. 25 davon sind in der Lage, auch größere Segelyachten zu empfangen. Die etwa 4000 km lange Küstenlinie Estlands bietet zahllose Möglichkeiten für Segeltörns, zum Surfen, Jetfahren, für Kajakund Kanutouren sowie zum Tauchen. Leben am und mit dem Meer ist für zehntausende Esten zum Lebensstil geworden und für zahlreiche Unternehmen in der Tourismus-Branche das wichtigste Standbein. Nicht nur die historische Union der Hanse verbindet Estland und Deutschland. Kasse Paadid is a small craft builder in Saaremaa. Kasse boats (Freed 430) have been built in Saikla, close to Orissaare since 1993. We have built a total of more than 2,500 boats – more than any other rowboat builder in Estonia. Kasse Paadid has never aimed at providing a wide selection of models. Ever since production was launched, the company has focused on the use of high-quality materials. Polyester resin and paint from the Reichold plant in Norway have been used, along with Ahlstorm glass ﬁbre tissue, to produce a highquality result. Our boats are exported to Finland, Sweden, Norway, Germany ja Åland Islands. Kasse Paadid is a founding member of the Association of Estonian Boatyards.

Kasse Paadid ist ein Kleinunternehmen, das auf der Insel Saaremaa Ruderboote herstellt. Seit 1993 werden die Boote von der Marke Kasse in der Ortschaft Saikla in der Nähe von Orissaare hergestellt. Insgesamt wurden schon über 2500 Boote gebaut – eine vergleichbare Anzahl kann kein anderer estnischer Bootshersteller vorweisen. Das Bestreben der Kasse Paadid ist nicht bloß auf eine möglichst breite Modellauswahl ausgelegt. Vielmehr wurde seit dem Produktionsbeginn ein besonderes Augenmerk auf die Verwendung der hochwertigen Materialien gelegt. Bei der Herstellung der Boote werden in Norwegen produzierte Polyesterharze und Lacke vom Harz-Hersteller Reichhold und Glasfasergewebe von Ahlstrom verwendet, die für qualitativ hochwertige Endprodukte ausschlaggebend sind. Von uns hergestellte Boote ﬁ nden Sie vor allem in Finnland, Schweden, Norwegen und Deutschland vor. Kasse Paadid gehört zu den Gründungsmitgliedern des Verbandes der Estnischen leinschiffbauer.

20 Years of traditions and experiences Lindvart was founded in 1993.

Lindvart’s tradition of boatbuilding rests on skills and secrets passed on from generation to generation. Being inhabitants of Saaremaa, the founders of Lindvart grew together with boats from an early age. Making toy ships in childhood led to a more serious apprenticeship with a Saaremaa boat craftsman. Boatbuilding work in Finland in the early 1980s deepened their knowledge of the science of materials and engineering technologies. Upon returning to their home island with their newly acquired knowledge and experience, it seemed the time was ripe to set up one’s own boat building workshop – so Lindvart was born.

LINDVART

20 Jahre Tradition und Erfahrung – Lindvart wurde bereits im Jahre 1993 gegründet.

Die Bootsbautraditionen von Lindvart basieren auf Fähigkeiten und Geheimnissen und werden von einer Generation der anderen weitergegeben. Die Gründer von Lindvart sind alle Einwohner von Saaremaa und sind daher schon vom klein auf mit Booten aufgewachsen. Das Basteln von Spielzeugbooten in der Kindheit hat zu einer seriöseren Ausbildung bei Bootsherstellern von Saaremaa geführt. Die Arbeit als Bootsbauer in Finnland Anfang 1980er Jahre hat das Wissen über Materialkunde und Technologien vertieft. Als man mit neuen Wissen und Erfahrungen zur Heimatinsel zurückgekehrt war, schien es die richtige Zeit zu sein, eine eigene Bootsbauwerkstatt zu gründen – und so kam Lindvart zustande.

Nordtenwest was founded in 2010 by two classmates who liked to go on adventures on the sea, which is why they wanted to share the same opportunities with others who might be interested. There is nothing elite about Nordtenwest’s vision of seafaring. We are coastal people; we just need to breathe some life into good old customs. This is why we do not build ultraconvenient speedboats, but economical hobby and work boats resistant to the sea and the weather that can be passed on from father to son. We do have one big goal – to be among the best in our ﬁeld.

NORDTENWEST Wir befolgen einen Grundsatz – mach alles so, dass du in der Zukunft auch selber mit jedem Produkt auf die Hochsee gehen möchtest. Jegliche Optimierungen mit dem Ziel, wirtschaftlichen Nutzen zu erzielen, passen nicht mit der Herstellung vonsicheren Wasserfahrzeugen zusammen.

Nordrenwest wurde im Jahr 2010 von zwei Klassenkameraden gegründet, die genossen haben, auf der See unterwegs zu sein und die sich gewünscht haben, diese Möglichkeit auch allen anderen zu bieten. In Vorstellungen von Nordtenwest ist die Seefahrt nichts Elitäres. Wir sind ein Küstenvolk, man braucht nur die alten guten Sitten wiederzubeleben. Deshalb bauen wir keinen superbequemen Schnellkutter, sondern möglichst ökonome, meeres- und wettersichere, vom Vater an den Sohn vererbbare Hobby- und Arbeitsboote, die einen gerechten Preis haben. Wir haben uns wohl eine große Aufgabe gestellt – in unserer Branche einer der Besten zu werden.

For this, an extensive study was carried out to understand the needs and expectations of yachters. All the way from planning the trip, to winter storage of the yacht. The objective of the project was to design and prototype the ideal marina, on the basis of one small-craft harbour located in Estonia. The concept is all-ecompassing, so that other smallcraft harbours can use it as a foundation, and adapt it according to their own needs, when developing their marina. Every small-craft harbour visitor appreciates it, when the marina has thought about everything, and the visit is remembered only as a positive experience. As a result, the visitor is also the best advertising agent for the harbour, sharing positive personal experience with his or her peers. What’s better than a friendly recommendation?

KOSTENLOSES FACHSEMINAR: Am 31 Oktober 2013 um 14.00 Uhr, Raum Kopenhagen 2 im Konferenzbereich bei der Halle B3 Die Dienstleistungsdesigner von Brand Manual haben am Beispiel des Hafens Noblessner das ganzheitliche Dienstleistungskonzept eines Kleinhafens erstellt. Dazu wurde eine umfangreiche Studie durchgeführt, die die Bedürfnisse und Erwartungen der Jachtfahrer von der Reiseplanung bis zum Winterquartier der Jacht analysiert hat. Das Projekt bezweckte ein Idealmodell des Jachthafens zu gestalten, auf der Basis eines Estnischen Kleinhafens. So wurde ein Prototyp geschaffen den andere Kleinhäfen zur Grundlage ihrer weiteren Entwicklung nehmen können, ausgehend von ihren Bedürfnissen und Möglichkeiten. Jeder Kleinhafenbesucher weiß es zu schätzen, wenn der Hafenentwickler an alles im Voraus gedacht hat: Die persönliche Erfahrung im Hafen ist beeindruckend positiv. Auf diese Weise wird der Besucher zum besten Werbeträger des Hafens, der seine persönlichen Erfahrungen und Empfehlungen in seinem Umfeld weitergibt.

„Ulaelu” in Estnisch wortwörtlich das Leben im Freiem bedeutet, wohl aber auch einen leicht unartigen Unterton besitzt.

Ulaelu steht für eine minimale, modulare Küchenlinie, die für Außengebrauch gestaltet ist. Die Produkte von Ulaelu haben einen unikalen Stil, sind hochwertig und können auch harte Wetterbedingungen tragen. Das clevere Design ermöglicht es, dass man auch im Garten oder auf der Terrasse kochen kann – nämlich gibt es da ein Waschbecken, damit man die Gemüse waschen kann, und ein Grill, damit man das Steak grillen kann.
