Tournament Rules

1. Players can play up a maximum of one school year, but must not exceed their age group on 31st August 2023, identified as follows:

U7 – School Year 2 U8 – School Year 3

U9 – School Year 4 U10 – School Year 5

U12 – School Year 7 U13 – School Year 8

U14 – School Year 9

2. Each team shall consist of six players from a maximum squad size of ten players.

3. Managers must be aware of the FA Guidelines for Mini-Soccer and Youth Football.

4. No academy players are eligible to play.

5. Players may only play for one nominated team.

6. A child who has not reached the age of six will not be allowed or encouraged to play.

7. A player is allowed to play up one age group above his or her chronological age group.

8. No player is allowed to play in an age group below their respective age group.

9. Where FA Guidelines permit the teams may be mixed boys and girls.

10. All players MUST wear shin pads.

11. No changing facilities will be available on the day

12. No refund of application fees will be given in the event the tournament is cancelled or abandoned due to weather

13. No dogs, other than guide dogs are permitted within the grounds, unless permission requested.

14. The second named team will be required to change shirts or wear bibs should the colours clash.

15. The first named team in each game selects ends and the second named team starts the game.

16. Except where other provisions in these rules are made, the laws of mini soccer apply (for age groups up to U10) and the FA Laws of the Game

17. The match ball MUST be provided by the first name team and used will be the following:

Age U7 – U10: Size 3

Age U11 – U15: Size 4

1. Substitutes may be used at any time during the game. Once substituted the player may be re-used on a roll on / roll off basis.

2. The offside rule does not apply.

3. The back pass rule does apply.

4. Goalkeepers are only allowed to distribute the ball by throwing or rolling the ball. The goalkeeper cannot roll the ball to allow themselves to take a further touch.

5. For age groups up to and including Under 10’s when the keeper restarts play the opponents must retreat to the half way line. The defending team do not have to wait for the opposition to retreat and has the option to restart play before should they chose to. The ball is in play once it has left the penalty area.

6. All goal kicks will be taken from the back line.
