technology UPDATE Student Data Privacy Whether you are working in or outside a classroom, directly or indirectly with students or their data, staying vigilant about privacy is key. Not only is it right, it’s the law. All installed or cloud-based software and apps, including cloud-based textbook add-ons, must have a completed EASTCONN Software Compliance form submission prior to purchase or use. Find the form on the Employee Intranet in the Technology Solutions section. If you are working with a school district, they should be asking you, as a contractor, to sign a student data privacy agreement if you are working with their student data. For more information, visit https://www.eastconn.org/studentdataprivacy or contact Kerin Griffin at kgriffin@eastconn.org.
How to Change your Computer Password Have you recently been prompted to change your EASTCONN computer password? Are you stumped as to how to complete this quarterly task? Visit EASTCONN’s Employee Intranet page and click on Information Technology for step-by-step instructions.
Remember: Changing your password will help prevent unauthorized log-ins to your ESS account, keeping your personal data and tax information safe. It also keeps EASTCONN secure from hackers!
