E&O AIMS TO LAUNCH RM2.5 BILLION PROPERTIES Banking on new growth engines

E&O expects to launch properties across the next 1218 months in the Group’s new growth locations of Iskandar Malaysia and London as well as its established landbanks in Penang and Kuala Lumpur. “The past year has seen E&O extending our footprint to new growth areas in Iskandar Malaysia and London. While E&O continues to realise value and strengthen our landbanks in Penang and Kuala Lumpur, we will also be focusing on launches at our new landbanks in the coming year,” said E&O Deputy Managing Director Eric Chan at the company’s 85th Annual General Meeting on 27 Sep 2012. E&O is in the midst of launching RM1.2 billion worth of Andaman condominiums at its flagship Seri Tanjung Pinang masterplanned development in Penang. On Jalan Yap Kwan Seng, Kuala Lumpur, a new condominium project worth an estimated RM400 million is expected to be launched in the first quarter of 2013.

STRONG Q1 RESULTS FOR E&O

Results driven by residential properties segment E&O continues to see strong results for the first quarter ended 30 June 2012 supported by its residential property projects, the cornerstone of its business. Revenue recognised from E&O’s residential property more than doubled to RM118.713 million in the quarter under review from RM56.096 million in comparative quarter ended 30 Jun 2011.

In articulating E&O’s commitment as a premier property developer, he said “We are passionate about what we do, always aiming to offer the best-in-class and to be distinguished by our hallmarks of quality and luxury.”

E&O LAUNCHES SECOND TOWER Singaporean buyers were given first dibs at this prime tower of Andaman seafronting condominiums located on a sprawling 21-acre site at the world-class masterplanned development of Seri Tanjung Pinang in Penang. E&O Head of Sales and Marketing for Penang, Christina Lau, says, “The initial response to our Singapore launch was very positive. We are confident that the outstanding proposition of Andaman with its strategic seafront location, well-appointed units and world-class facilities backed by E&O’s proven track record will continue to attract discerning buyers.” Units range from a spacious 1,161 square feet (sq ft) for a 1-bedroom studio suite to the expansive 4,755 sq ft penthouses. There are also 1+1, 2 and 3-bedroom suites at 1,188 sq ft, 2,047 and 2,776 sq ft respectively. “Owners of Seri Tanjung Pinang properties have been enjoying attractive capital appreciation. For example, the Suites at Straits Quay serviced residences have appreciated by about 80% since their launch in 2008,” said Lau.

n September 2012, E&O organised several weekend talks on the hot topic of Malaysia Property Outlook and Investment Opportunities by prominent real estate consultant, Colin Tan. Hosted at the E&O Gallery Singapore, the talks were held in conjunction with the launch of the second tower (1H) of Andaman at Quayside.

Participants also gained insights into what to look out for when investing in a Malaysia property and the common mistakes to avoid.
