1. Our College is the only one like it in the country where eleven different degree programs that fall under the umbrella of justice & safety are housed together under one roof!

2. Our Center for Wilderness & Outdoor Public Safety brings together university faculty experts and resources to support interdisciplinary programs. These programs focus on areas such as wilderness medicine, wildland firefighting, conservation law enforcement, search and rescue and wilderness risk management.

3. Our Aviation Professional Flight program is the only one in the state.

4. Our Construction Management graduates are project managers on major construction and infrastructure projects across the United States.

5. EKU offers the only 4-year Bachelor of Science degree in Fire, Arson & Explosion Investigation in the country.

6. Our Emergency Medical Care program is the longest-accredited in Kentucky and the second longest-accredited program in the country.

FROM CYBERCRIME TO EXCLUSIVE FIRE PROGRAMS

EKU’s College of Justice, Safety & Military Science boasts unique degrees in Criminal Justice, Corrections & Juvenile Studies and Police Studies. Collaborating with the College of Business, our Cybercrime course contributes to a Financial Technology & Cybercrime Certificate. The Department of Fire Protection & Paramedicine Sciences offers exclusive 4-year Fire degrees accredited by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress. Accreditation by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commision of ABET of our Fire Protection & Safety Engineering Technology degree reflects our commitment to excellence in professional education.

STRATEGIC INTELLIGENCE TO PRACTICAL OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY

Our Homeland Security program is a leading undergraduate program focused on disaster management, intelligence studies and security management. Occupational Safety courses provide real-world experiences through site visits to manufacturing facilities and construction sites, along with opportunities to attend conferences. EKU’s Aviation program, the only 4-year program in Kentucky for over 40 years, educates students in professional flight, aerospace management and unmanned aircraft systems. Our Construction Management program was also recognized as one of the top programs in the country.
