Reminder: Exception for Time Requirements

EKU Policy notes the following time restrictions for previously taken graduate courses:

• Degrees with less than 40 hours required, courses need to have been taken in the previous 7 years. • Degrees with more than 40 hours required, courses need to be taken in the previous 10 years.

However, if students have work-related experiences, professional development activities, etc. that demonstrate how they maintained currency in the content knowledge for the older courses, a “Request for Exception to Time Requirements Form” may be completed and sent to the graduate school.

This form is available at: https://gradschool.eku.edu/graduate-school-forms .

DegreeWorks petitions for old courses do not replace completion of the form since documentation of currency is not included. Any degreework petitions for time requirements will unfortunately be denied.
