Hello, my friend. My name is Pastor Jeffrey Johnson Sr., Senior Pastor of Eastern Star Church. I want to let you know that God loves you. When He created you, He already had a plan in mind for your life. Jesus, God’s Son, said, “I have come that you might have life and have it more abundantly.” Unfortunately, too many of us don’t experience a life of love, joy, peace, and forgiveness that God wants for us. The Bible says that we all have sinned. Because of this, we are separated from God, and as a result, we deserve death. But because of how much God loves us, He sent His own Son, Jesus, to die that death in our place. When Jesus died on the cross, He took all of our sins and failures on Himself so that, in exchange, God could give us that abundant life that He wants us to have. Jesus was taken from the cross and buried in a tomb. But God raised Jesus from the dead, and we can get to know Him personally. The Bible says that if you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved, your sins forgiven and given the gift of eternal life. I am inviting you to Eastern Star Church, on Sunday, May 5, for a special worship service. At this service, there will be others there who, like you, have been kind enough to accept our invitation. In addition to sharing God’s Word about the wonderful plan He has for your life, we will conclude this special service with on-site baptism for all who wish to be baptized that day. We will provide everything you need to be baptized. Our church has been praying that you will be with us that Sunday. Of course, you don’t have to wait until May 5 to begin a new life in Christ. Even right now, you can believe in your heart that Jesus died for you and was raised from the dead, and you can say to the person reading this letter that you believe Jesus is Lord.
