n 2014, Thailand’s food exports reached 1.01 trillion baht (US$30 billion) for the first time in history, representing a 15.4 percent increase compared to the previous year, and is forecasted to grow by a further seven percent this year. Food and drink processing and manufacturing is a key component of Thailand ’s manufacturing sector, constituting approximately 15 percent, and with its continuous development and growth, forecasted at 3.7 percent this year and 4.1 percent next year, it contributes significantly to the country’s overall GDP.
