Growing a greener business grant The Eco-town team recognises the importance of local business performance and competitiveness and wants to help create a more diverse, competitive and resource-efficient local economy. To help achieve this support is now available so businesses can reduce their carbon footprint and in so doing reduce costs and improve their environmental performance. Help on offer includes: • Free information and tools to help you understand and improve the environmental performance of your business – which will help save money on fuel bills • A free environmental review from Bioregional to help identify what actions you can take to reduce your carbon emissions and make savings • A grant to help fund environmental measures or activities you wish to install or undertake as a result the review • Training session for staff to raise their awareness and increase understanding of what they can do to help your business to reduce its carbon footprint which will help save money on fuel bills • A computer-based monitoring programme for you to record your future environmental performance • Details of other grants available to undertake further environmental / sustainable business measures • Information on local sustainable business networks and support • Advice on where to find suppliers of environmental products and equipment Who can apply? Growing a Greener Business support is open to any business located on one of the industrial estates within the Whitehill Bordon Eco-town policy zone. These are Woolmer Trading Estate, Highview Business Estate, Bordon Trading Estate and The Watermeadows Small Industries. The scheme is limited to existing local businesses and enterprises that can demonstrate they are active with evidenced trading for more than six months and are within EU defined Small Medium Enterprise status (SME) of under 50million Euros and/or have 250 or fewer full time equivalent employees.
