ANDY HESSENTHALER GOOD AFTERNOON ALL AND WELCOME BACK TO THE SILVERLAKE STADIUM FOR THE VISIT OF WREXHAM IN THIS AFTERNOON’S NATIONAL LEAGUE ENCOUNTER
I
would like to begin by welcoming the fans and everybody associated with Wrexham to the Silverlake stadium. I hope you all have an enjoyable experience this afternoon as well as a safe journey home.
Wrexham are a very good side and I am not surprised that they have had the start they have had. However, we can’t fear any team which comes here and we need to make this place a fortress, something which it hasn’t been in the past.
I was delighted to get our second win of the season on Tuesday night. We knew what to expect from Bromley and the lads were excellent for me. If we defend like we did for the rest of the season we will have a very good season.
Your support so far this season has been excellent! Me and the squad really appreciate you getting behind us and sticking with us. Over the course of the season this will be vital.
The opening month of the season is difficult and that goes for everyone in the league. We will need to re-group and go again ahead of our fifth game in fourteen days. We have been unlucky with a couple of small injuries over the past week but the players who have slotted in have done well. We have a tight group of players here this season and everyone is working towards to the same goal.

Enjoy the game and I hope we can deliver another three points.

MARK JEWELL GOOD AFTERNOON ALL AND WELCOME BACK TO THE SILVERLAKE STADIUM, FOR THE VISIT OF WREXHAM IN TODAY’S NATIONAL LEAGUE FIXTURE.
W
hen it is Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday you can get a bit football dizzy. However, welcome back again to the home of the Spitfires. It is a pleasure to see you all again!
days at Dover and Harrogate all in the space of eight days, with the home game on Bank Holiday Monday. I think things will be a little clearer after the Harrogate game as to how we are shaping up. In the mean time I simply call upon you to do whatever you can to support the club that you clearly all love and specially to try and support the players and football management during this hectic start to the footballing calendar. We are definitely “Better Together”.
I am also very happy to welcome everyone connected with Wrexham football club. Wrexham are a club that Eastleigh have connected with over the past few years, particularly when our paths cross at National League gatherings. I hope their fans, staff and representatives have an enjoyable time with us today and a safe return home this evening.
There is one thing that I would like your help with. I wondered if any of you can persuade a group of friends or a local company to become a matchday or match ball sponsor for a future fixture. With many people still away on holiday it has proved tricky to get commitment for these early games. If you think you might be able to help, I would be very pleased to hear from you. Simply contact me via the club and I will happily explain what is involved and what you can expect from the day for your money. It really is a great day or evening and worth doing for a special occasion or simply to try out a different match day experience for a change. I look forward to hearing from you.
Our opponents this afternoon have experienced a real flying start to this season and remain undefeated without conceding a single goal, so today will be a very difficult test of our lads and management. I hope the game is as good on the pitch as it looks on paper. In Tuesday’s programme notes I commented on the fact that we will all need a bit of faith this term and I can already feel that there is the beginnings of an undercurrent of belief amongst the whole of the Eastleigh family. We are generally working well together and that things are starting to happen in a positive manner both on and off the field. It is still very early days, so let’s just try and keep that togetherness going and see where it can take us!
I hope you all enjoy the game and that you can get the atmosphere going in the Silverlake Stadium this afternoon. Up the Spitfires! Mark Jewell Chairman Eastleigh Football Club.
After today we have a week’s rest, so to speak, then its Ebbsfleet at home sandwiched between two interesting away eastleighfc.com

astleigh come out on top in a very physical encounter with Bromley.
The game started with Eastleigh on the front foot and they went in front on the fifth minute. Great work down the right by Zebroski and his chipped cross was headed in at the back post by Yates, planting his header in the bottom left corner. The Spitfires came under pressure late in the first half as Roger Johnson’s looping header just went wide. Bromley were not done there and it took some great defending from Reda Johnson to keep them at bay. Eastleigh held out for back to back wins and will go into today’s game at home, at home to Wrexham full of confidence

EASTLEIGH v WREXHAM AFC W
e give a warm welcome to the players, staff, officials and most importantly the supporters of our visitors Wrexham this afternoon. We wish them a safe journey back home after we’ve taken the three points off of them naturally.
AWAY DAY TRAVEL As of this season, the TSSC is taking over the organising of the travel for away games. In recent seasons the football club has run the away travel at heavily subsidised prices and as such the TSSC will be fundraising throughout the season to try to reduce the cost of travel for our fans. We have also changed our official coach supplier from this season from Wheelers to Luckett’s travel. The Fareham based company are one of the leading coach companies in the whole of the south of England.
NEW MOWER/DEFIBRILLATOR As agreed at the AGM in May, the TSSC has bought the club a brand-new mower called a ‘hoover’ which will be used before and after the games to give an even better cut to the grass. Head groundsman Dan Barnes gave an explanation of how it works to the AGM and everyone present gave their full support. And so it was agreed that the TSSC would purchase this piece of equipment and the football club kindly paid the VAT. It was also agreed that we would donate a substantial amount towards a second defibrillator.
NEXT THREE AWAY GAMES The details of the cost of the next three away games have been released. Although you don’t have to be a member of the TSSC to travel, you will get a slightly reduced cost if you are. The cost can be found on the TSSC website.
ENJOY THE GAME AND UP THE SPITFIRES.
