When to Isolate or Quarantine This chart outlines common scenarios along with guidelines for when members of the campus community should isolate or quarantine.

Situation Exposed But Fully Vaccinated Within the Past 5 Months or Boosted: Have been notified of exposure, asymptomatic. For example, their roommate has COVID but the student feels fine

What to Do Persons with up-to-date vaccinations who have been exposed do not need to quarantine if they have been fully vaccinated in the last five months or boosted and have remained asymptomatic. People with up-to-date vaccinations should be tested 5 days following a known exposure to someone with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 and wear a mask in public indoor settings for 10 days or until they receive a negative test result. They should isolate for at least five days if they test positive and wear a mask for an additional five days after that.

Unvaccinated or Outof-Date Vaccinations & Exposed: Have been notified of exposure, asymptomatic or symptomatic but unvaccinated or vaccinations are out-of-date (last shot more than five months ago).

The individual should isolate for at least five days following the last exposure and test on day 5; Additionally, they should continue to monitor symptoms for at least 10 days and wear a mask. The quarantine should end after 5 days only if the exposed person is asymptomatic.
