HEALTH EMERGENCIES IN LARGE POPULATIONS (H.E.L.P.) COURSE 2012 The Center for Excellence in Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance (COE), in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and partnership of the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa’s Office of Public Health Studies (OPHS), are very pleased to announce that applications are being accepted for the 2012 Health Emergencies in Large Populations (H.E.L.P.) course at the East-West Center, University of Hawai‘i at Manoa Campus on 16-27 July 2012. Scholarships will be available on a limited basis to all qualified candidates.
The Center has conducted the H.E.L.P course for over fifteen consecutive years, graduating 300+ professionals from diverse backgrounds and attracting top-tier instructors in public health, humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, medicine, human rights and international humanitarian law. The COE welcomes applications from all branches of the U.S. Military Services, U.S. Embassies, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief professionals, representatives from foreign Ministries of Health, clinicians, public health professionals, United Nations agencies, Non-Governmental Organizations, and Academic Institutions.
