First launched in 2009, the A-TACS brand is by no means a new entity. However, following ten years of experience in creating camouflage patterns, the company have launched a new range of concealment options with the sole purpose of providing the end user with a number of different camouflage patterns that aid in battlefield concealment.

The 'X' line of camouflage from Digital Concealment Systems is the culmination of four years of development, with the release of A-TACS iX (Intermediate Xtreme) marking the starting point of the new range in 2016. Since then, a further five camouflages have been added to the range, with each camouflage looking to serve a different area of operations, making the A-TACS range a multi-purpose entity that offers its users the ability to not only match their chosen camouflage to their AO, but also mix and match the camouflage on offer to further break up the human silhouette; essentially aiding in the main function of a camouflage. During the on-going “War on Terrorism” and the ever-changing threat, new innovations in tactical camouflage were born. With adversaries in every geological hiding spot around the world, Special Operations Forces must be able to adapt their appearance within areas of operation in short order. With the popularity and over-proliferation of some camouflage patterns currently in widespread use, A-TACS sought to provide an alternative to the various Special Operators and Tactical Law Enforcement professionals, and the amalgamation of their efforts has concluded in the ability to offer their clientele one of the most advanced concealment options available, as well as aiding in the ability to better differentiate between the various SOF units that are serving across the globe.

The central line of the new A-TACS X range, consisting of AU-X, iX and FG-X were carefully designed to allow the end user to mix-and-match, different items utilising the three patterns, with Philip Duke, the Founder and Pattern Developer of Digital Concealment Systems stating "These patterns can easily be mixed and matched to any mission-specific geographical requirement by simply changing and intermingling uniform tops, bottoms and nylon gear in any variable combination of the three main colour-ways in the X line”. This is made possible due to the careful consideration given to the use of common colour swabs with variable ratios of said colours in use, ‘making the A-TACS X range similar enough to not stand out, but different enough to be three unique colour patterns’.

4 The UW Chest Rig Gen IV comes with four open topped 5.56MM magazine pouches in a kangaroo pouch format, secured with bungee cords, allowing for great ease of access when in high stress situations.

On top of that the UW Chest Rig Gen IV comes with a number of multi-purpose pouches, great for items such as radios, multi-tools, bandages, or extra magazine, allowing for a great amount of adaptability in all situations.

The pouch is mountable both horizontally and vertically thanks to the use of MOLLE straps, with additional belt loops. On top of this, the Direct Action Response Kit is heavily customisable on order, with the ability to add various items such as a SOFTT-W tourniquet, additional HALO vent seals and rip shears. You can also add a PVC identifier pouch to the item should you wish to.

The outside of the pouch includes an easy to access, external tourniquet pouch, utilising a strip of female-sided velcro to attach your tourniquet to (which comes included). This allows for ease of access, as well as making it accessible with a single hand.

The D.A.R.K Trauma Kit utilises an external pouch for use with medical shears, reducing the time it takes for the user to access them, and again making them accessible with a single hand.

Should you need to deploy your individual first aid kit in a rush, the Direct Action Response Kit has a pull handle included, allowing for rapid deployment. A feature that allows you to get to your first aid kit and reduce time that could be used treating an injured party.
