The Patent Pending Warrior Laser Cut Low Profile Plate Carrier (LPC) is at the forefront of cutting-edge innovation. Manufactured using our proprietary laminate material and precision cut using the highest quality laser technology for optimum production accuracy to produce a flawless lightweight solution.

Designed with direct input from serving operators within the SF community, the Laser Cut LPC incorporates many new features that combine to make it one of the best carriers on the market today.

The Laser Cut LPC features their new air vent thermo pads, which allow heat to evaporate from the body and increased airflow to assist in cooling.

The thermo pad also helps to decrease the back-plate signature associated with ballistic impact and trauma. The Laser Cut LPC incorporates our speed clip system, which allows very rapid removal of the carrier on a day to day basis but also in an emergency situation, no complicated cables to worry about, and reassembly takes seconds.

ASSAULTERS BACK PANEL MK1

The Laser Cut Assaulters Back Panel (ABP), has been designed to be compatible with the full range of Warriors Laser Cut LPC Carrier can also be used with their Elite Ops range of carriers, (DCS, RPC, LPC and QRC).

The ABP quickly zips on to the rear of the carrier via our MOLLE zip adapter kit, (included). The adapter kit comprises a left and a right-sided vertical zip panel, simply MOLLE each adapter to the rear sides of the carrier and zip the panel to the adapters.

The MK1 variant of the Assaulters Back Panel utilises the top section of the ABP panel and comes with our removable Laser Cut adjustable Triple 40mm pouch, ideal for storage of pyrotechnics or baton rounds. The lower section has our removable Laser Cut fast pull horizontal medic pouch. The Assaulters Panel comes with an internal hydration compartment and a pull-out lower pocket for carriage of MOE gear such as, expandable hammers, hooligan bars and bolt cutters.

DETACHABLE TRIPLE BUNGEE 5.56 PANEL

The Laser Cut Detachable Triple 5.56 Mag Pouch is a removable Front Panel which attaches to the front of Warriors Laser Cut LPC Plate Carrier, via Velcro and 2 Vertical SQM clips. The DFP-TB-556P holds 3 x 5.56mm x 45mm mags, and are held in place via bungee retention cord, Hypalon lining provides additional mag retention when bungee safety is removed. 40MM FLASH BANG POUCH

The Laser Cut Single Flash Bang Pouch attaches to the full range of Warriors Carries, Belts and Back Panels. The W-LC-T40-FBP holds 1 x NICO style Multi Bangs and is held in place via bungee retention cord.

Made using a combination of double-layered Mil-Spec elastic and Laminate, to produce a strong compact design. The pouch has a height-adjustable cover flap, which allows different size distraction devices to be housed. In addition to Flash Bangs, a variety of 40mm munitions and 37mm Baton Rounds can be stored.

The 40MM Flash Bang Pouch currently comes in two variants – a single variant and a triple variant (as seen on the MK1 Assaulters Back Panel).

SINGLE BUNGEE 5.56 POUCH

The Laser Cut Single 5.56 Mag Pouch attaches to the full range of Warriors Belts and Carries. Warrior Assault Systems prides itself on its extensive range of designs. Their products don’t just look good, they have to be functional and that starts with the design process. The design process begins with an idea that originates from Warrior, or with a specific request from one of their customers or end-users. Many of Warrior Assault Systems’ products have been developed with direct input from UK Special Forces, and their good friends serving past and present in SF units from around the World. Warrior Assault Systems’ have been fortunate to forge great bonds with some of the Worlds most elite units, from both Military and Police. Warrior Assault Systems will then spend many hours working through all aspects, to form a solution, and with input from our experienced design team they will formulate a basic idea. This will then be further developed in CAD format, with a prototype machined soonafter.

The Laser Cut IFAK pouch is designed to hold an operator’s personal medical kit, including Combat Gauze, CAT and/or Trauma Bandage. They are all stored securely in a removable sleeve, which slots inside the outer pouch.

The sleeve and medkit are held firmly in place by elasticated sides and Velcro.

A large tab with non-slip Hypalon coating is attached to the inner sleeve and once pulled with force releases the inner sleeve from the otter pouch, allowing quick and easy access single-handed operation.

Warrior Assault Systems uses the highest quality materials during their manufacturing process. DROP DOWN VELCRO UTILITY POUCH

The Laser Cut Drop Down Velcro Utility Pouch hangs under the front flap of most carriers and attaches quickly and securely via Velcro.

Ideal for use with Warriors LPC, DCS, RPC, QRC and PCR Chest rig.

There are 2 zip pockets, the larger and main compartment is designed for storage and quick access of larger accessories and tools, Med Kit and Admin / Maps, etc. The smaller pocket is good for the storage of smaller items such as torches, batteries, Compass, etc. On the underside, there are 2 elastic loops for chem lights and or markers. The Drop Down Pouch can also be used as an add on for lower abdomen protection, we have included a rear pocket which allows a level 3a soft insert to be added. The front of the pouch has laser cut Velcro comprising of 4 loops that allow the attachment of patches or CATs.

MBTIR/HARRIS RADIO POUCH

The Laser Cut MBITR/ Harris Radio Pouch can accommodate both the MBITR 148 and Harris PRC 152. Velcro and bungee closure is fully adjustable for height and double Mil-Spec elastic provides the lateral tension for both radios. The Laser-Cut MV-MHRP-L can be attached via 2 MOLLE arms to the range of Warrior Plate Carriers, Belts, Chest Rigs and Bags. Batteries can be changed quickly and simply via a Velcro tab, without removing the radio from the pouch.

WING VELCRO MBTIR/HARRIS RADIO POUCH

MULTI-TOOL POUCH

The Laser Cut Wing Velcro MBITR/Harris Radio Pouch (Left Side) can accommodate both the MBITR 148 and Harris PRC 152. Velcro and bungee closure is fully adjustable for height and double Mil-Spec elastic provides the lateral tension for both radios. The MV-MHRP-L Velcro’s under the front panel of the full range of Warrior Plate Carriers. The side cummerbund then closes over the pouch so that it is secured on the inside. The pouch and radio then sit tightly against the left side of the operator’s body, streaming the outer profile of the Carrier and eliminating snag hazards. Batteries can be changed quickly and simply via a Velcro tab, without removing the radio from the pouch.

The Laser Cut Multi-Tool Pouch is a pouch you really can't afford not to have somewhere on your load out. It can be belt mounted or attached to any carrier in the Warrior range and could be used for more items and tools than we can think of. It comfortably and securely holds most standard single-handed opening compact tools. We have found that it houses the likes of Gerber and Leatherman as if it were purpose made.

ATTENTION TO DETAIL

I know, we’ve banged on about the attention to detail shown by Warrior Assault Systems a lot in this article, however, we wanted to show you this via visual means. When talking about attention to detail, it is often the little things that count the most, and there are a number of little design choices that really offer brilliant quality of life features, with our favourite being the ‘tabs’ added to a number of pouches as well as all of the bungee fittings.

Manufactured from a high-quality composite laminate material, these little tabs, while seemingly simple, offer an insane level of tactility, which massively aids in the ability to open pouches in high-stress situations. These high-stress situations, coupled with the fact that gloves generally reduce the ability to properly ‘feel’ items, is testament to the attention to detail shown by Warrior Assault Systems.

BUNGEE PISTOL MAGAZINE POUCH

FRAG GRENADE POUCH

The Laser Cut Frag Grenade Pouch is manufactured using a combination of double-layered Mil-Spec elastic and laminate. Holds a single M67 style fragmentation grenade, includes a plastic clip for single-handed silent opening.

LOW PROFILE LASER BELT

The Laser Cut Low Profile Laser Belt (LPLB) offers a very light weight, and extremely strong, 2 stage low profile platform capable of carrying a wide variety of mission specific pouches and holsters including Drop Leg rigs. Part one is a reinforced slim line belt that is covered in loop Velcro and is designed to be threaded through the operator’s Pants belt loops and acts in the same way that a traditional belt would.

The second part of the system is made up of a low profile laser cut belt with cut outs allowing pouches to be threaded through for attachment.

This belt has a row of hook Velcro on the inside which marries up to first belt, it is then secured by way of a removable belt and composite GT Cobra buckle. The LPLB allows holster and drop leg attachment (as pictured), and because there is no movement due to the Velcro bond between both belts a very stable draw is achieved.

The laser Cut Bungee Pistol Mag Pouch can be belt mounted or attached to any carrier in the Warrior range. Holds most standard 9mm, and .40 Cal pistol mags. Made using Double layered Mil-Spec elastic and laminate to produce an extremely compact design, with Hypalon coated pull tab for extra grip.

The Bungee Pistol Pouch currently comes in two variants – a single variant and a double variant. With this, Warrior Assault Systems offer the end-user about as much variance as possible, with the single option pairing up perfectly with the 5.56 Pouch.

ELASTICATED C.A.T HOLDER

The Laser Cut Elasticated C.A.T. Tourniquet Pouch can be belt mounted or attached to any carrier in the Warrior range. Allows single-handed opening for quick and easy removal. Attaches with a single MOLLE arm.

This pouch will also hold the SOFFT Tourniquet.

FIGHT LIGHT BELT

Are you looking for the perfect battle belt? In the next issue of Gear Up, we will be looking at a fully loaded Low Profile Laser Belt from Warrior Assault Systems that has been purpose built by a leading Tier 1 Operator, looking at the reasoning behind the pouches used, and more importantly, the placement of each pouch and why the decisions have been made!

TT MODULAR PACK 30

The Tasmanishe Tiger – also known as the Tasmanian Wolf – was the largest carnivorous marsupial on the Australian continent. It was about the size of a small wolf and owes its name “TASMANIAN TIGER” to its striped coat which served as camouflage. The animal was a predator – not very fast but extremely persevering – and followed up on its prey at night, chasing it down until it was exhausted so it could finally snatch it.

Equipped with a superior set of teeth and a mouth which it could open up to 180 degrees, the animal showed no mercy for its prey.

The Tasmanian Tiger is said to be extinct on the Australian continent since the 1930s; the last species lived on the island of Tasmania. In 1966,

Finding the right backpack can often be a pain in the proverbial backside; especially if you’re looking for something that won’t destroy your body after long periods of use. Over time, a wide array of different backpacks have come through the Gear Up office, ranging from period items such as the iconic Vietnam ‘Tropical Rucksack’, through to British Army issue Bergens and variants from a number of outdoor companies. With each example that came through the office, hours of use entailed, which quite often included long distance running with a weighted pack or hikes through the Peak District. With this has come somewhat of an understanding of how painful the ‘wrong’ pack can be, having suffered

from all sorts of chaffing – with some accounts of drawing blood, along with excruciating back pain. However, that’s not to say all backpacks lead to this, in fact, the vast majority don’t cause injury aside from some unpleasant rubbing, but that is, quite frankly, part and parcel of running around with upwards of 30kg in a backpack.

Until recently though, I didn’t necessarily have a favourite when it came to a backpack to use for my general, day-to-day fitness work. For a long time, I was a huge advocate of the Triple Aught Design Litespeed, having owned one for a long period of time, but it certainly isn’t designed for strenuous exercise; mainly due to it lacking a hip-belt to keep it secure.

Warrior Assault Systems’ X300 Pack was also a huge favourite, but at 55L, it was far too big for general day-to-day road running. However, recently I’ve had the opportunity to get to grips with a few Tasmanian Tiger products, and I now have a new favourite in the Modular Pack 30.

By designation, the Modular Pack 30 is a 30L combat backpack designed to fit a range of different items, lending itself well to the military world, and in turn, the airsoft world. Manufactured from a 700D CORDURA®, the Modular Pack 30 weighs in at 1.65KG. In terms of size, we’re pretty certain the Modular Pack 30 sits in that perfect sweetspot between smaller everyday backpacks and larger products such as the X300, with measurements coming in at 58 x 27 x 18 CM – essentially putting the pack level with the nape when worn.

The pack itself is adorned with laser-cut MOLLE, allowing great opportunity for scalability – I personally added a simple Nalgene Water-bottle pouch to the side to allow for easier access – and the top of the pack incorporates a laced section, great for storing a raincoat or FAST-type helmet. Looking towards the back of the pack, Tasmanian Tiger have chosen to make use of S-shaped shoulder straps which curve to the body fairly well, and you also have access to two hip fins (not a belt, these detach as two separate pieces), which have zipped pockets running the entire length, which we found great for a Smartphone, but would fit a range of different items. The back itself is also completely padded, and I found it to fit perfectly to the curvature of my back, providing brilliant support through a removable backrest pad which makes use of an aluminium rod.

Furthermore, there are two pull-tabs which can be used to compress the backpack should you need to do so.

Opening the Modular Pack 30 up – done so via clamshell zipper, you have access to a rather sizable main compartment that is lined with laser-cut MOLLE, covered in Velcro. The pack already comes with a selection of accessories which attach to this system (3 accessory pouches and 1 weapon holster), but it will accept a range of aftermarket products. Furthermore, a separate meshed pocket is located on the tail of the inner compartment, great for

any important items due to its easily accessible nature. On top of this, the pack also offers antenna ports into the main compartment, found on both the upper left and the upper right, which would also accommodate a hydration hose, although a bladder pouch would have to be attached to the aforementioned MOLLE. Finally, a second compartment can be found in the lid, which is deceivingly big, and a third compartment is found on the front of the pack, almost hidden in a crease – likely to be used as a map pouch.

THE FINAL VERDICT One thing that readers have been asking for recently is somewhat of a verdict when it comes to the equipment covered in this article, especially due to the expensive price-point a lot of these products sit in. So, with that in mind, the Modular Pack 30 has honestly been attached to my back as much as physically possible at currently.

Obviously, bear in mind that these opinions purely come from a fitness point of view at current due to the restraints placed due to COVID-19.

Honestly, it has been a while since I’ve been this excited about a tactical product. Fitness is a huge part of my daily regimen, and even more so recently with the only way of getting outside being through exercise, and in turn, weighted runs have been something I’ve done

for a good number of years now. For a long period of time, I tended to go out running in a plate carrier, which was fine when living in the rural backdrop the Gear Up office is located, but having recently moved into a big city, some of the looks I receive are questionable, so I transitioned to using a backpack for any weighted runs I do. But this came with a huge number of teething problems. A lot of the backpacks I used just were not fit for the task, either missing stability through a hip belt, or chaffing so bad I would end up with blood blisters in problem areas. And honestly, the Modular Pack 30 has alleviated, if not completely removed, a lot of these issues.

I’ve been putting about 20KG worth of weights into the Modular Pack 30 (done so through a mixture of Travail Fitness Plates and simple weight plates) and I’m having next to no issues with the weight whatsoever. The backpack seems to effortlessly distribute the weight across the back, with the only pain following use radiating in the trapizus (shoulders) – although that is to be expected. There has been no real issues with rubbing; not to say there has been no rubbing, but when wearing at least two layers, the rubbing has been minimal, which is mainly due to the brilliant adjustment system the backpack makes use of.

All in all, the Modular Pack 30 from Tasmanian Tiger is a great example of a backpack, and I’m pretty down heartened that it’s a review sample and I don’t get to keep hold of it!

Now in it’s fourth generation, Carinthia’s cold protection and performanceoriented MIG 4.0 jacket has been further refined and developed in collaboration with special forces units from around the world. This involvement has optimised product performance, improved the cut and reduced the outer seams by combining specialised crafting and materials with critical input from real-world operators.

Hard-wearing comfort, robust durability and optimal protection are words that get thrown around quite a lot when reviewing high-end outerwear like this, but believe me, they absolutely characterise this jacket and I have never encountered such a multifunctional, enduring and dependable jacket in my life.

Starting from the outside, the outer surface of the MIG 4.0 is tough and nothing short of impervious. Made from a combination of Gore Windstopper®, 100% Polyester and ePTFE Membrane, nothing gets soaked and everything gets repelled, even under heavy English rain. The DWR works very well and the newly designed hood (adjustable in two directions), make the jacket weather impenetrable from pretty much anything that Mother Nature can throw at you.

With a total of five outer pockets, three velcro squares and one ventilation opening in each armpit, Carinthia have made superb use of the MIG 4.O’s surface real estate. Two large vertical outer pockets, lined with ‘thermo fleece’ have been cleverly positioned high on the chest in such a way that the user may access their contents at either side of their plate

carrier or chest rig without obstruction. It’s worth noting here that the chest area is completely free from stitches (apart from the two-way front zipper with storm flap), which aids in a more comfortable experience when operations demand a plate carrier. To finish off the external storage, three more pockets include two bicep pockets with generous hook and loop panels and one additional forearm pouch located on the left arm which will house most quick-access admin that may be needed swiftly.

Moving up, the lined hood design is separate from the collar, a welcome feature, enabling the thermo fleece-lined collar and chin guard to provide a good thermal seal around your neck and lower face, keeping warmth from escaping, whilst freeing up the hood to be used when required.

Another feature we were pleased to discover were the covered access points to the pull-strings around collar and hood. They are all concealed by the means of integrated flaps and pockets, giving these plastic adjustment points protection from the elements and allowing the MIG 4.0 to boast a much cleaner and low-drag look and feel.

Slipping inside and zipping up, the MIG 4.0 is warm, light and has been perfectly designed to protect the end-user against the extremes of the cold, wet and wind. The Carinthia ISO Mapping® Technology helps the body to build up heat where it is needed. Carinthia have achieved this by cleverly zoning of the body’s regions. In a nutshell, each body region has a different heat radiation behaviour. Carinthia’s ISO Mapping® system builds exactly on this cleverly executed feature by dividing the body into different

‘heat zones’, preventing ‘cold spots’. According to Carinthia, the MIG series provides thermal protection to temperatures of -15oc. I have no doubt that this will go a long way to preventing hypothermia.

The ISO Mapping® Technology works in harmony with the guts of the jacket; an insulation system called ‘G-LOFT®’ which is a synthetic alternative to natural down. The G-LOFT® bi-component-fibre is permeated with a micrometer wide air duct running through it. As a hollow fibre it ensures optimal warmth insulation, imitating nature, namely the fur of a Polar Bear. The fibre consists of two different raw materials which, after the spinning process, contract to different degrees during the cooling process. The result is a spiral formed crimping of the fibre, similar to a coiled spring, which is inherent in its molecular structure. Due to the “memory effect”, the G-LOFT® fibre always returns to its uniquely warming and fluffy original shape, even when machine-washed in standard domestic washing machines.

As you can tell, we are really impressed with this jacket from Carinthia, but are there any aspects or features that we didn’t like that could have possibly been included or removed? To be honest, not many... We would have liked to have seen some media ports built in to the internal (or even external) pockets to accomodate media devices or communication systems and maybe the addition of some ‘thumb-loops’ on the wrist-gaitors, but these are just personal preferences and doesn’t take anything away from the appearance of the jacket.

Speaking of appearance, the only feature that I can take issue with are that the stiffened, re-enforced shoulders give you the look of a “LEGO-man”, a very stocky one. I see why Carinthia have decided to include this feature and that they are designed to resist abrasion and mechanical damage, so that our plate carriers, rucksacks and load bearing equipment sit nicely on your shoulders without damaging the main fabric. This is no inconvenience by any means, however, when walking past a reflective shop window or mirror, it does look as if I’m wearing a uniform with epaulettes and I can’t help but notice how prominent and pointy they are.

To date, our experience with Carinthia’s MIG 4.0 system is only preliminary and at this point, we cannot hope to have pushed such a garment system to the extent of its capabilities, for us to do so, you’ll have to check back after a couple of seasons! What is clear though is that the design aspects and technical features are more than just marketing hype.

Sure, some standard issue type GoreTex waterproofs may keep you dry but we guarantee that you’ll be able to push them to their failure point long before the MIG 4.0 system gives out on you. The elephant in the room is arguably the price of this jacket and that in itself sets it in a league of its own. That league though is targeting products specifically and intensively developed for those that simply cannot settle with compromise and for whom failure or under-performance is unacceptable. In that sense, the question really is not “how much can the MIG 4.0 system handle” but rather, “can you push it to where that point might be?”.

Born in August 2014 following an incident in which Officer Darren Wilson was involved in an officer-involved shooting resulting in the death of an individual in Ferguson, Missouri, Viridian Gun Cameras noted the news coverage of the ensuing community unrest.

In the following months, they observed that much of the controversy associated with officer involved shootings was the disagreement by parties on what actually happened. Other evidentiary devices were sometimes helpful in assessing use of force events but also continued to show limitations on activation and viewpoint. It became obvious to them that cameras were needed on officers’ guns and that their patented INSTANT-ON® activation was necessary to overcome these shortcomings that often raise more questions than they answer in these tragic events.

At Viridian, they had already been manufacturing cutting-edge accessories for firearms for a decade, and the idea to use their technology to attach a camera to a firearm was inevitable. This led to the creation of the Fact Duty Weapon Mounted Camera, or WMC.

The WMC is relatively simple in design, looking no different than a standard tactical light that attaches to the picatinny rail of a handgun.

But in reality, it is far from a simple product. The WMC combines the need for Law Enforcement to have a weapon mounted flashlight on their handgun with the capabilities of video recording, achieved via a 1080p HD camera, complete with an audio relay. The flashlight paired with the camera is a 500 lumens light, which not only provides Law Enforcement professionals with a serviceable light source, but also provides ample light for the camera to operate in all lighting environments.

To combat the need to turn the light on in situations which require instant reaction such as a Law Enforcement officer being fired upon, the WMC makes use of Viridian Weapon Technologies patented Instant-On feature. Just pre-set the Viridian mode, slide your gun into your INSTANT-ON equipped holster, and the INSTANT-ON system is armed and ready. The instant the gun leaves the holster, the Viridian activates as fast as you can draw.

In recent times, Viridian Weapon Technologies have been at the forefront of an incident which occurred in Wilbarger County, Texas, with evidence from the FACT Duty WMC presented for the first time in an officer-involved shooting trial. The WMC provided the critical evidence for the case by showing the defendant pointing a sawed-off shotgun at Vernon Police Corporal T.J. Session during an exchange of gunfire in which both Corporal Session and the defendant were shot and wounded. Body camera and dash camera video was also available from the incident, but the Viridian FACT Duty provided the only unfettered evidence of the defendant reaching for a weapon and subsequently shooting the officer. The defendant was convicted by the jury of aggravated assault on a public official and sentenced to 40 years in prison.

Upon completion of the NASA project and perfection of the miniaturized one million candlepower design, a private investor from the Philadelphia area moved the company to King of Prussia, PA and, in 1973, created the company that today is known as Streamlight, Inc. TLR RANGE Streamlight’s TLR range has been their premium weapon mounted tactical lighting range for a while now, with a number of products sitting under the TLR umbrella. The range covers a wide variety of different weapon mounted lights, all designed to be used in conjunction with a variety of different firearms; provided they have picatinny rails attached.

If the truth be told, each product in the TLR range hold up against its competitors, but with such a vast number of products in the range, it would be impossible to feature them all in a single article.

The new lights are made from 6000 series machined aircraft aluminum with a Type II Mil-Spec anodized finish. The switch housing is made from impact- and chemical-resistant, high-impact engineered polymer. The lens is constructed from high temperature, shock mounted, AR coated, and impact-resistant Borofloat® glass.

Both lights are IPX7 rated for waterproof operation to 1 meter for 30 minutes and have been extensively live fire tested.

Since September 2016, Swiss Eye merged with Top Look Brillien Vertriebs GmhH, creating Swiss Eye International GmbH in the process.

SAFETY RATINGS ISO 12312-1 ensures that the products on sale comply with safety ideas such as no sharp edges that could cause injury to the end-user, or cause vision impairments that may stop the end-user distinguishing certain colours. Furthermore, all of the glasses within this article adhere to STANAG 2920/4296; a collection of safety ratings specifically for ensuring the ballistic capability of eye protection.

STANAG 2920 and STANAG 4296 are standards for the evaluation of ballistic resistance in all member countries of NATO. Unlike the compliance with the European Norm EN 166 which determines the impact resistance of a steel ball with a diameter of 6 mm and a mass of 0,86 g hitting the eyepieces at a speed of 45 m/s, the compliance with STANAG 4296 standard guarantees the ballistic resistance defined by STANAG 2920 standard, determining the ballistic resistance against bullets having a caliber of 3.6 mm (0,14″) and a weight of 325 mg, fired at a speed of 215 m/s, or 774 km/h (with the possibility of reaching even higher speeds as reported by the test report). STANAG 2920 does not define a minimum protection threshold in the same way as EN 166, but it allows to specify a speed V50 that represents the speed at which a bullet could perforate the eyepiece with a 50% probability. In addition, glasses complying with STANAG 4296 standard must also meet several requirements.
