20th Annual Production Sale
Wednesday, February 28th, 2018
1:00 PM at the Farm • 2242 90th Avenue, Pipestone, MN
Welcome Fellow Producers,
Welcome to the 20th Annual Chestnut Angus Bull Sale. It’s hard to believe that we started doing this 20 years ago as time has simply flown by. I enjoy looking back over the years and not only see how our herd has changed, but how the Angus breed and beef industry has evolved as well. With that being said, we are super excited to offer you a great set of bulls as well as bred females for your consideration. These cattle are current and we feel are where we need to be for production within the cattle industry. These bulls are sired by some of the industry leading sires within the Angus breed, and go back to cows in our operation that consistently, time and time again, get the job done. These females are a wide range of ages from breds making their first debut into production to females who have proven themselves and then some, and some even have offspring on this sale. We are very happy with the consistency and quality that these bulls represent and are excited to offer you bulls that will influence your program to capitalize on your goals. Whether you want to raise cattle to sell for finishing, or on the opposite end of the spectrum raise maternal females, or herd bulls to build your program and everywhere in between, we believe we have bulls to fit those needs. With today’s economy, it’s time that we focus on performance tested bulls because in the long run this will put more money in your pocket which is the bottom line. The Angus breed has proven that we don’t need to switch breeds to gain performance and maternal quality. We can’t stress enough that these cattle still need to have a good look. We believe cattle should have growth and power and we achieve that goal by using numbers as a guide and also selecting for structural integrity, functionality, and practicality on foot. We keep the best and cut the rest. I would like to thank our customers. Our success comes from you, and I’m truly thankful for the relationships that my customers, family, friends, and neighbors have given me, that makes this cattle business and agriculture community so strong. I would like to thank my wife Sherri, my two boys: Wesly and Dawson, as well as our hired man Justin Blumer for all of the hard work and dedication they put into this operation day in and day out. I would also like to thank those whom have helped along the way at any point of the year. Whether it’s been for 2 hours, 2 days, or 2 weeks, your assistance is greatly appreciated and doesn’t go unnoticed. I would also like to thank our feed specialist, Scott, and the entire CHS crew. They develop the rations for these cattle in order to ensure maximum performance which is greatly appreciated. We welcome you to our place to look over our sale selection prior to our sale. We truly appreciate those of you whom may be returning customers or those of you that are checking us out for the very first time. The door is always open for you to stop by, we would be happy to answer any questions that you may have. We are looking forward to seeing you on sale day. Special note: Internet bidding will not be available on sale day so if interested in any cattle, please be sure to visit with any of the sale consultants, or contacts listed within the catalog. Videos will be available online for viewing.
Thanks, Glenn, Sherri, Wesly & Dawson

THANKS GREG GIBSON! Greg has been purchasing bulls from Glen Johnson at Chestnut Angus for 20+ years and keeps coming back because the bulls work so well along with CN’s customer service. Greg developed a relationship with Glen many years ago and has been very happy with the consistent genetic product that Chestnut Angus has provided for him. The bulls hold up well and are athletic to get the cows bred in a timely manner. Greg stated, “We feed out our calves and they really perform. The replacement females are always the quality that we keep back in our program. It has been a pleasure dealing with Glen for over 20 +years, you can depend on the CN genetics!” GREG, THANK YOU FROM THE CN CREW – WE TRULY APPRECIATE YOUR FRIENDSHIP AND BEING A LOYAL CUSTOMER! 23
