We pride ourselves on being very service-oriented and would be more than happy to assist you with marketing your calves and LHT Brand slaughter bulls. We continue to get calls
back from several of the first LHT sired heifers – people just can’t believe the quality of cows they are making and they want more! Please don’t hesitate to call us if we can help you market your calves, as there is a demand for them.
Kade Christensen continues marketing both for us and for our customers featuring LHT genetics. He has been traveling the countryside picturing and advertising LHT genetics. If he can help you in any way please don’t hesitate to call! With this, we have added Trauernicht Simmentals to the Big Iron team to help promote more of our genetics. We have had multiple sales throughout 2024 and would love to continue to help our customers promote their calves. Dillen Mumm continues to work as our LHT Herd Manager. He is truly committed to our program and continues to be a huge asset to our operation. Additionally, we at Trauernicht Simmentals owe a special tribute to all the employees, friends, and
neighbors who help make our annual production sale possible. Without you, we wouldn’t be able to make this sale happen! We are truly blessed to have such a professional crew that shares our passion for customer service and success!
Last, but certainly not least, we want to thank you, our loyal customer. With your overwhelming acceptance of our Simmental and SimAngus bulls we are able to have remarkable success in raising seed stock! The LHT Quality Guarantee
Unless otherwise noted, all the bulls sold as breeding age bulls will have passed a breeding soundness exam prior to pick up and/or delivery. We will follow the terms and conditions set forth by the American Simmental Association and additionally we will provide a first breeding season guarantee on all yearling and older bulls (first breeding season is defined as the 90 day window immediately following turnout) all yearling and older bulls sold at the price of $3500 and up. This guarantee is not an insurance or mortality policy, but a guarantee on functional fertility. It is not a substitute or replacement for poor management. Buyer assumes all risks for injury due to running bulls together or management decisions outside genetic control (this is why carrying motality insurance is very important and encouraged). For any bull bringing $10,000 or greater, LHT will pay half the amount of mortality insurance for 6 months if the buyer agrees to pay the other half. For the guarantee to apply, we ask that you contact us as soon as a condition is observed and before the animal is sold. We will work with you to determine whether the animal is returned or sold for slaughter. We will attempt to provide a suitable replacement. If one cannot be provided of equal or greater value, we will issue a sale credit to be used in a future sale for the full
SONS OF Schooley Krown
Krown is a bull I heard all the buzz about from good cattlemen and so we got semen on him right away. We have been nothing but impressed with his first calf crop. They came moderate - small at birth and had that growthy look...wow have they grown! It took them a little while begin separating themselves, but coming into yearling time they have really turned it up! These Krown sons are designed for the guy that wants a little more frame, keeps their calves for a little while after weaning, or finishes his calves and is looking to get there fast and then bring a premium off the grid. He definitely adds looks and a tremendous genetic profile. Needless to say, you will see more Krowns in the future!
After breeding Simmental cattle for 55 years, we have seen a lot of fads come and go, and seen different traits being selected for. But the one common goal in over the years has been to breed good cattle that meet all your goals. Stand Alone is the most impressive beast of a bull that we have ever put on the ground! This beast of a bull checks all the boxes that we have been striving for. He comes to you with an actual BW of 84 pounds (perfect size in my mind) and has grown into a massive bull with a tremendously thick top line and an explosive rear quarter. He has so much rib shape and capacity and carries this on a running gear that is flawless in its design. His bone work and joints are smooth as butter, but still massive. He carries all this on some mammoth sized feet. This bull will blow you away from any angle you study him from. He truly exemplifies his name…Stands Alone!! To top it off, he comes from one of the most beautiful and prolific cows we have in the herd. His dam continues to knock it out of the park year after year and maintains the perfect udder and exemplary teat size. He ties together function and relevant genetic traits in a perfect package. We are selling ½ interest and ½ semen interest with possession negotiable. If you want to double down and own the bull, let us know when the gavel drops and we will still retain our semen interest.

Genesis is a newer sire that we decided to try as he caught our attemtion with his pedigree that is loaded with some of the greats of the Simmental breed as well as his exceptional growth numbers, and really his numbers all across the board. We were most definitely not disappointed when these calves hit the ground. The growth numbers that Genesis posesses are true to how his progeny actually perform and these Genesis calves have been at the top of the list all year!

This bull has been a great asset to our program! He is a breed changer for sure. He was initially thougth of as a calving ease/heifer bull, but as we used him the last few years, he has proven himself to also be a performance sire, a carcass sire, a maternal sire, and last but not least, adds phenotype along with a touch of added frame. Look out...his sons continue to get better year after year!

Dutton is a bull that just flat gets it done. He is extremely thick topped with a massive hip, a huge belly, and truly impressive structure right down to his feet and legs. The fact that he is transmitting all these desirable traits to his offspring will keep you coming back for more. One would think with all this power and performance he wouldn’t be a short gestation bull, but he sure is. This is why he is one of Select Sires’ top semen selling Simmentals. Don’t pass up an opportunity to buy a Dutton son to add power, rib shape, and performance, along with some tremendous genetic merit!

Fire Power has truly impressed us with his first calf crop! They came very easy for a bull with this much power, then they took off and grew very rapidly...doing a great job clear into yearling time. Talk about a group that knows how to push the scales down! They are phenotypically attractive cattle with added muscle and power in a moderate frame. Like all the herd bulls here, he is at the top of the charts for structural integrity and he passes that to his offspring along with his ability to add tremendous genetic merit. He is nearly exclusive new blood for us and our return customers. He’s been a standout from the beginning - I sent Dillen and Lauren Hope down to look at a different bull and they came back and said we had to get our hands on Fire Power! What is a bull worth?
COWMAN FORMULA
Increase in pounds per calf from a top perfomance bull
X Number of cows bred to him per year
X Number of years to keep the bull
X Expected selling price of calves
= Additional dollars you can pay for a better bull
Example...
A bull who will add 30 pounds to the weaning weight of each of his calves mated to 25 cows per year for 4 years and you sell the calves for $2.50 per pound:
30 X 25 = 750 X 2.50 = 3000 X 2.50 = $7,500
This bull is worth $7,500 more than the average bull who will keep your weaning weights the same. Take this formula and put your own figures in and see what you can afford to pay.
This equation does not consider the increase in value due to calving ease, higher quality replacement heifers, yearling growth, feedlot gain and improved carcass quality.

Notes from the Sale Managers
Congratulations to the Trauernicht family on 50 years of unforgettable moments and memories hosting cattle sales. It is said that the only thing consistent in life is change and the changes over the 50 years that this firm has made in the beef business are mind blowing. Progressively changing and evolving into a stellar program today with their top priority as progress & profitability for their customers.
This set of bulls in this anniversary sale in our opinion is the best set ever produced here in LHT program in terms of phenotype and genetic value. Engineered to be pounds heavy, they will produce a calf crop that will make your neighbors do a double take when you bring the calves to town. Black or red? The red bulls are not taking a backseat to their black counterparts in the categories of feed efficiency and high cut ability, so your selection has numerous options-just a one stop shopping spot!
Hospitality is number one when you walk into the Trauernicht sale facility so come early for fellowship to celebrate the past 50 years and share your own experiences with LHT genetics. Please accept this as your personal invitation and feel free to reach out to any of the LHT team or us at EE for assistance.
CHEERS TO 50 YEARS!
