talks about his journey in Entertainment Industry

Asad Malik

Give us a little introduction about yourself, how it all started? Hmm how it all started is a great story, well having a friendly relation with a few people who really wanted me to somehow get into showbiz gave me a boost but however at first I had been avoiding it but it happened when it had to happen by accident. I remember that I had to meet a few people who were going to someone’s place and they hitched me along with them, so when I went cluelessly there at an unknown place, I saw Mr. Abid Ali over there being his huge fan I was wowed, well just like that we had a conversation and I found him a very nice person. That’s when he asked me, “do you want do our next project?” I was surprised and all I could say was that I have no idea how to act and he replied that it’s not a problem at all we will teach you. And then I asked him will I be famous? and with a hope in his eyes he said hopefully you will be. And that’s how it started.

JULY-AUG 2016

Let’s start from the beginning, your first movie “Qayamat ke baad”, tell us about your role and your experience. As per my character is concerned then it’s an over ambitious person who is really rebellious and angry because whatever he had in mind, he never got those things in his life. He is a person who just wants everything and that’s the character of the person I played. And as far as the movie is concerned, well it’s about three friends who disperse and then meet again after a long time, I was one of the lead role in the movie along with Tauqeer Nasir and Amir Malik who played the role of the other 2 friends in which one of the friend is a journalist the other one is a big businessman and then there is me who has become a huge drug lord. You started your acting career from movies and then shifted to drama industry? Well, I found movies very unethical and everyone you would come across would lie to you and I could not really survive in such an environment where people are lying to each other therefore I had to make a decision and I had to switch to something better than that and in search for that I found that Television, the drama industry was the place for me. As movie industry is growing in Pakistan, what are your views about it?

Umm, it is growing because more and more educated people are coming in, people are doing things on very much better grounds with better resources and on modern lines which is the best thing and that’s why I have recently been a part of a movie called “SayaE-Khuda-E-Zuljalal” and I think If things keep going the way they are, we will better than everyone else. You are doing movie after a long time, if we are not wrong you did your last movie in 1993, tell us about your experience in Saya-E-Khuda-EZuljalal and your role in the movie? Strangely my experience was pretty similar because it’s all about acting, whether it’s a movie or its on television, the fact is that it’s all about facing the camera so there wasn’t much of a difference in it for me but yes the environment, the facilities, the props and everything in those terms everything changes because obviously it’s a huge scale hence of course it was a better feeling. Moreover I haven’t seen myself on a big screen in a long long time and I am very excited about it. Apart from this I am playing Major Shafqat Baloch who was fighting Indians in 1965 in BRB along with Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed in that field where Major Shafqat Baloch survived and Major Aziz Bhatti was martyred. And with a great honor he is also considered to be the only solider in Pakistan as a living Nishan-e Haider. You have given more than 25 year of your life to acting, are you satisfied with what you did or is there some role that you still wish to do and haven’t done yet. Oh I am not really one of those actors who would say I want to do a blind’s man role, a limping man or this or that. No no no, in fact whatever role I get I try to do it in the best possible way , it’s just how I do things and whatever I have in mind I think I am pretty much satisfied with whatever I have done. It’s an interesting matter of fact that on the way here Mubashar Lucman just called and said to me that we are doing a project together named “Sarkaar” and I have seen the teasers and you have done an amazing job. His exact words were “ I knew you were good I never knew you have become great so for the next 13 episode I have asked them to increase your role and give you more lines, you are really www.ebuzztoday.com

a good addition to our project”. While Sarkaar is totally a politics based serial and it’s something totally new, it will be on air in a couple of month InShaALLAH. And I hope everyone enjoys it. Which role you enjoyed most in your acting career? I try to enjoy every character because I believe that if you cannot enjoy your work then you cannot give it your best shot, I mean you have to love your work to excel and be able to bring the best part of yourself. Tell us a fun moment you still remember and laugh in the set of movie or drama. Oh believe me there are plenty of such moments!! Whenever we are on set we have a lot of fun, as this job itself is so dry that if we won’t add up humor on our own then it’s gonna be a lot of trouble for us, we won’t be able to enjoy our work and do our best. Your favorite co-star? With whom you would want to work again. Ahem, well they all are really very nice and I can’t just pick one. You know actually it’s me who is the favorite co-star of everyone as I try to create fun on sets to keep everyone relaxed, I try not to push people around me and trust me this is the best. So in-short I am their favorite. This entertainment industry is cruel, it makes rumors and gossips we are sure you have been through this too, so tell us who that lady is. No no, not at all because I have just kept myself like an open book to everyone. I say what I do and I do what I say and everybody knows whatever I say never be a lie because 25 years is long time. You have quite a good experience as an actor, so www.ebuzztoday.com

CHATROOM please share some of the tips to become a successful actor? Well, I don’t know, this is something very strange because when we talk about being a good actor there is nothing much to it, actually it’s all about the mind, to keep your mind alert, keep your observations switched on, keep your eyes and ears open and you know things will become easy for you. Also try to figure things on your own and try to give your best and that’s it. The basic ingredient in life is hard work, dedication, tireless effort and consistency. And if you get all that then nothing can stop you from being successful. We all know Asad Malik as an actor but in real life who really Asad Malik is. The real Asad Malik is in front of everyone I haven’t really kept anything about myself from anyone except for a few things which have to be hidden no matter what. Mostly people say that I don’t look modest and I look like an angry person but when they meet me in person they say quite the opposite. People really get surprised when they meet me the first time but basically I am a very enjoyable person I make people laugh and everything. Here I can say never judge a book by its cover. Let’s change the momentum from professional to personal life. Tell us about a typical Sunday in the life of Asad Malik. Sunday? Sunday Sunday Sunday. Oh!! Aaah yes I basically enjoy my Sunday on a Saturday night. I tell myself that

Sunday? Sunday Sunday Sunday. Oh!! Aaah yes I basically enjoy my Sunday on a Saturday night. I tell myself that tomorrow is Sunday and I can do whatever I want. tomorrow is Sunday and I can do whatever I want. So I watch a movie or cook something, meet friends or go on a drive or whatever I want but on a Sunday I mostly sleep. Acting required a lot of travelling and we are sure you have seen almost every corner of Pakistan. So what is your favorite holiday destination in Pakistan? Umm my favorite places in Pakistan include Abottabad, Balakot and Shogran.

Some fun facts about Asad Malik that people might not know. Hmm Fun facts about me. Let’s see like I said I am the funniest person around in my company. I like to have fun but it should be a quality of fun and not a cheap kind of a fun. I hate to hurt people because sometimes people just want to have fun and they would not care even if they are hurting someone. I am totally against it and I condemn it as I think you should have fun and make people happy rather than hurting them and if you can’t do that then honestly don’t have fun. But I am a funny guy and I know a lot of jokes and I love making people laugh. Any advice to the young inspiring actors and say few words to the reader of Ebuzz. Well, uhh I think they should look up to their seniors and ask a lot of questions because they have more experience and they should do as they advice. As even I have learned a lot from my seniors, they were some really nice people and they taught me a lot of things that I know today including my good manners, in terms of acting you should keep looking at them, how they do it and keep questioning them in a nice way obviously. Also, whatever they try to teach you on set never think they are trying to intimidate you in any way because they are just trying to help you out. So learn and respect your seniors in every step of your life. Other than that Ebuzz is doing a great work and I can see they have new people on board and I just think it will keep rising InShaALLAH the way they have been and all the very best to Ebuzz!! One last question when are you getting married? Haha umm I don’t know about that, I have been pretty used to living alone and I am not sure If I will be able to share a place with someone else. It would be hard to shift from one style to another though that’s a part of life but let’s see what happens.

Things you need this W

ith the arrival of this Holy Month of Ramadan not only do we revive our Imaan but we also start preparing for Eid and I, being the helpful little person that I am, will help make your Eid struggles

a little easier. We’re all aware of how hard it is to find the perfect shoes, suits, bags and matching accessories but I have it all covered for you this time, yes, i’ve done all the nasty research to line up the essentials you need this Eid to bring out the diva inside of you! Everyone wants to look their best on Eid so that they can drop the perfect Eid selfie ;) and the first step to looking good is feeling and dressing good so here are our favorite Eid collections; Our favorite and not unnecessarily hyped about Eid collections are from Kayseria, Cross Stitch & Baroque. The material and the designs of all three of them are amazing and all of them also have running online stores which will make your shopping less hectic and easy in these hot summer days.

Tulip Shalwar Shalwar’s have been trending for a while now and our favorite type of Shalwars are the Tulip shalwars, what other occasion would you wear a tulip shalwar other than Eid? Remaluxe has by far bought the best tulip shalwar in the market and its this elegant white embroidered tulip shalwar which was even worn by the beautiful Mawra Hocane.

Jewellery Outfits are always incomplete without some matching accessories and a good pair of earrings are the perfect accessories for Eid. Outhouse has literally outdone themselves and just like Sonam Kapoor and Mahira Khan even we’re in love with their earrings, rings and necklaces. EBUZZ
