EBUZZ
ChatRoom Ebuzz had a candid talk with the designer to know about his experience of working in fashion industry and what he thinks about high fashion. How do you feel you have grown or changed as a designer since you entered the fashion industry? What have you learnt since you started out? Looking back to my career, I see so many positive changes in myself. Above all, I have learnt how to organize myself personally and professionally and also how to deal with different sort of people with difference in attitude as required. I felt it’s not easy to dress up everyone. I have grown a lot in my sensibilities of design. I have started doing things more practically and understand what is needed and when. Most importantly I have learnt to value good

My vast inspirational skills plays an important role in executing my designs. friends which are very difficult to find. What’s it like being in the industry? You belong to an industry due to some obvious reasons but at the end of the day you are an independent individual so you need to focus and put your maximum effort in work because whatever happens you still will be compared to others so when you have given your best you will at least satisfied. Obviously with strong competition around you definitely need to work hard if you like and enjoy what you do the journey becomes a joy ride. What are the key elements for you when designing a collection each season? There are many integral parts of my collections; the 1st one always is a good story line which leads to the construction of my work. A healthy research on whatever I do because I feel you have no rights to play with something before having an ample research on it. Other than that I am very inspired by art. I look different art forms every season to incorporate and recreate it in my work. At the same time I want my work to cater to different people. What is the thought process to fashion the pieces into the innovative creations? Anything that inspires me. I can construct EBUZZ

an outfit by taking smallest thing as inspiration and further create more. My vast inspirational skills play an important role in executing my designs. What does it take to achieve professional success when the market is so much competitive? Good will and honesty with your work. I am always been taught that you can’t achieve success by cheating on somebody. I think patience plays an important role as you get to see a new sort every day Good friends are very help full at times but I believe everyone is capable of making their own way without pushing anyone aside. How would you describe your brand? The label Fahad Hussayn Couture aims exclusivity in both, the industry as well as clientele. By providing luxury and quality work and targeting respectable, educated audience who earn your work and deserve it. Do you scope out the competition, or are you so tailored in your aesthetic that it isn’t necessary? A good competition drives you in a good direction. Nobody is perfect. I still learn from every showcase of mine and I just keep on improving myself every time. Success and competition are both parallel realities of each other. How do you balance creativity
with commerce? We own a strong local clientele to whom we provide maximum quality work that lies in their frame, along with this we have launched an e-store online where we target to cater our client abroad and we at Fahad Hussayn Couture work maximum to provide our label to more and more people. How do you think your collection stands out from other designers? I think majorly in terms of quality. I don’t compromise on quality, not for ramp nor for retail. What is it that keeps your work ethic so focused? There are always a lot of things running in one’s mind while working but something that keeps me occupied is the fact that I don’t want to be remembered as a person who spoiled somebody’s most important day. Do you have any tips for our readers for the summer season? This season indulges yourself in lighter shade like pastels and whites, colour full prints and silhouettes majorly separates like skirts and jackets. Where the Pakistani fashion industry stands today when you look at the global fashion scene? We exist nowhere globally. The industry which should be progressing every moment, I feel it has instead taken a back track. What does luxury mean to you? I feel luxury is a gene you carry in your blood in the form of your taste, you can’t embody it by buying it. For summer wedding, what colour combination you would suggest for a bridal jora? Ivory or Gold. With so many fashion weeks happening in the country, what is your opinion on ‘High Fashion’? With so many back to back fashion weeks happening, you hardly get to see anything new. Maybe because of the lesser time margins between the events. While on the other hand everyone participating in the high end fashion weeks tries to play it quite safe with their work, which may cater their clientele but does not the raise the bar higher the way it should go season by season. www.ebuzztoday.com

BEAUTY
01
DON’T SCRIMP ON SUNBLOCK A healthy dose of sunblock (a teaspoon for your face), surprisingly, helps control oil and shine. Skip your morning moisturizer and slather on a mineralbased block (with oil-absorbing micronized zinc or titanium dioxide)
02
WASH RIGHT
Even if you don’t tend to break out, switching to a cleanser that fights zits in the summer will keep your skin looking matte. Choose one with 2 percent salicylic acid, which helps break down oil in the pores but isn’t over drying
03
SCALE BACK ON MAKEUP
Foundation not only feels heavy in hot weather—it melts into your pores and clogs them, and they produce more oil. Switch to a tinted moisturizer EBUZZ

with silicone or try a mineral powder foundation, which sucks up excess oil like a sponge
04
WATCH WHAT YOU EAT
Cocktails and spicy foods may hit the spot on a hot night. But they won’t do your skin any favors; they dilate blood vessels, and make you perspire. Limit yourself to one drink a night, and eat spicy foods no more than once a week. And consider loading up instead on carrots, cantaloupe, and spinach; foods like these that are high in vitamin A can actually slow oil production.
05
LIGHTEN UP ON THE NIGHT CREAM
Take your bedtime beauty routine down a notch. If you use a cream, switch to a lotion; if you use a lotion, switch to a hydrating serum. Whatever the formula, be sure the product contains oil-zapping salicylic or glycolic acid, pore-shrinking caffeine, or antiinflammatory niacinamide.
06
BLOT YOUR HEART OUT Just don’t use a powder puff, or you’ll create a cakey mess. Instead, reach for blotting papers with a touch of translucent powder

Denim
Trends That Never Go Out of
Style
By Seharish Shahzad
Our research shows that the most commonly sold item in stores is the classic blue denim jeans. With so many trends in vogue it’s time to update your denim stash. From subtle hints of 70s with the wide flared silhouette to skinny jeans and denim overalls. There’s so much going on in the world of fashion denim wise. It’s truly a fun and adventurous moment for denim but what are the denim trends that never left the spotlight and are bound to make you look amazing no matter what! Read on to find out.
1
Distressed:
My personal favourite is the distressed denim. It is the most important ingredient to the very popular ‘normcore’ look. It gives the perfect chic vibe. You can dress it up or dress it down and have fun with your look with it!

White:
White is the ultimate spring denim and never goes out of fashion. It looks super fresh. It gives a clean and crisp feel to any look and who doesn’t love the classic white on white look? Wear them in skinny, flared or boot cut – a white pair of jeans always gives a little polished and clean look.

3
Overalls:
This is one trend that’s been in vogue since ages! So much so, that many designers have jumped on the overalls bandwagon.
5
Flares:
Flares were bound to make a comeback internationally. In Pakistan, they never really left the spotlight. So, I’m loving this 70s influence on denim! There are so many possibilities with this; from high waist to low rise, subtly flared to sailor silhouette
7
Embellished Denim:
4
Trends
Super-Skinny Jeans
I love a pair of jeans that fits like a glove. Find your perfect pair of skinny jeans at various stores; from local brands like Breakout and Outfitters to Levis and Yellow offer great fitting skinny jeans.
6
Patchwork:
This is one fun and daring trend! These go best with a simple top or else beware of having a very ‘loud’ look. So, are you daring enough to try this denim trend?
8
The Classic Blue Jeans: Lastly, a trend that has surpassed all – The blue jeans! Whether flared skinny or boyfriend; the blue jeans are a wardrobe staple for everyone. The one “must-have” piece in anyone’s wardrobe is a pair of good old blue jeans.
Guess what’s back? The very controversial decorated denim! Just when we thought this book would be closed for good. There’s always designer showcasing decorated denim in their collection on the international platform. Personally, I’m not a big fan of this but D&G converted me into a believer when they showcased decorated denim in their collection.

Eyewear alert for the season It’s time to kick off summer with the hottest sunglasses trends of the season. From modern styles that feature trendy pops of colour, to more iconic designs such as classic cat eyes, we bring out the best glasses trends of this year for you.
Cat Eyes You can never go wrong with an iconic black cat eye. Bold and feminine, this frame is a statement piece. Why we love them: The most glamorous and flirtatious of our favorite sunglasses, these give whatever we’re wearing more style in a seriously sophisticated way.
Round and Retro Rounded elegance is back again, curvy bubbly shapes are a come back this season. These frames echo the 1960s and 1970s styles. Why we love them: Just like we’re loving the resurgence of flared denim and throwback fashion, we’re very into the return of these retro accessories. They’re the perfect complement for every midi skirt, high-waisted bell bottom, and denim shirtdress in your closet.
Embellished Shades If you’re into making statements, there’s really no easier way. In fact, with studs, floral appliqués, and metallic finishes, there’s no need to add on any extra jewels. These are funky statement-makers out-of-the-ordinary designs and detailing, from pavé stones and crystals these are making a splash. Playful patterns like confetti, sparkle, and marble are having a moment. EBUZZ

TRENDs
Flat Tops Flat-topped silhouettes emerge on the runway this season. To top it off the bright semi-transparent fuchsia pop of colour is youthful, sporty and fun! Why we love them: Theyre a throwback with a contemporary twist, and they’re way sleeker than they ever looked in the ‘80s or ‘90s. Think of them as the hybrid between aviators and oversized frames — aka the newest way to channel that Hollywood movie-star vibe with a bit more edge.
Mirrored Lenses This classic cat eye frame has been given a modern update with round mirrored lenses that accentuate the clear frame. Why we love them: They don’t just hide tired eyes with their reflective lenses, they also up the ante on everything we wear, adding cool-girl prowess to even our most basic outfits. And there’s nothing better suited to turning heads at a music festival. Silver, gold or colored mirror lenses are in. Look for jewel tone green and blues to throw a trendy look to your attire.
White Frames They give you the trendy chic look, a fashion freak who adds style and make statement to her attire. The white elegant frames makes you look more hot. Why we love them: No longer synonymous with ‘80s movie stars, they have evolved as a chic way to update your look, thanks to trendsetters like Kate Hudson and Gwen Stefani. Plus, there’s no better time to make a white-hot statement than summer.
Aviators One can never go wrong with the trendiest of style of all times. Aviators never go out of style and are always loved by everyone. They add sense of coolness and style to the personality. Black, white and cobalt blue returns this season as a choice hue for both frames and lenses. These trendy aviators are an effortless way to incorporate this bold color trend. Why we love them: With their classic-cool sensibility, there may be no frames better suited for our every need than aviators. They work as well with our lazy gym look as they do with our cocktail dresses, so if ever we can only bring one pair with us, this is it.

l l u B d e R y m e d a c Music A nce ie r e p x e g in g A game chan By Maria Mahesar
They say music has no boundaries. Music is an expression that speaks a global language. But in our country ‘music’ the once booming industry is now growing at the speed of a snail; not a very encouraging sign for young budding musicians of Pakistan. In such times the annually held Red Bull Music Academy not only gives hope but encourages musicians to engage and showcase their skills on a global platform. Like the rest of the world musicians in Pakistan yearly apply online with the hope to get selected to attend the Red Bull Music Academy Session. Each year the Academy selects 60 most-promising musicians on merit from various parts of the world, who apply in large numbers via online application. One of these lucky few musicians is Talha Wynnethat goes by the name of Tollcranewho represented Pakistan in the last year sessions held in Tokyo. ‘The experience was unbelievable!’ said Tollcrane. ‘It was unlike anything I have ever been part of musically; a game-changer without a doubt’. He further adds ‘Musicians from around the world had gathered on one platform with the focus being on learning from each other and collaborating on music’. In the yearly held Red Bull Music Academy Sessions 60 musicians are divided into groups of two; each group with 30 musicians. These two groups separately attend two weeks of lectures by prominent artists, collaborate on music, jam and are encouraged to think/create innovative ideas on music. ‘We (musicians) were given access to the coolest gears and recording studios at the Red Bull Music Academy Session held in Tokyo last year. Plus, every night we had a club night or performance to look out for. It was an intense, once in a lifetime experience compressed into two weeks’ said an enthusiastic Tollcrane. ‘I had been working on few tracks

for some time. I had some unreleased tunes so I strung them together in a mix, completed the Red Bull Music Academy application form online and sent it across’ said Tollcraneon how he applied for the 2014 session held in Japan. There’s more to this talented young musician from Karachi who also

I had always had an inclination towards musical instruments as a kid. I was fascinated by them (musical instruments) especially of the fact that they could produce sound’ says Tollcraneon how he developed interest in music. ‘So I guess the curiosity pushed me into it. My family has always been supportive of my decisions’. There’s usually a distinctive style of music that defines and sets a musician apart from the rest. If asked how would Tollcranedefine his music. ‘That’s a tough question to answer because my style is always changing. I started off with noise/garage rock and then went on to form a band I am currently part of called Orange noise. My solo work started off as something minimal electronica, a little jazzed out in places; even now I am
making experimental techno sounds’. ‘These days I am working on a few releases and mixes. Been DJing and producing since the Red Bull Music Academy Tokyo Session ended’ said Tollcrane when asked about his future plans. ‘My first release is all set to be launched somewhere around the last week of June. It’s a 4 track EP, with some jams and collaborations I have been working on for the past few months. I am really exciting about putting it out there’. In 2015 the Red Bull Music Academy Session will be held in France where once again musicians from different parts of the world will be provided with a rare opportunity to learn and collaborate on music. ‘I would advise them (musicians) to apply for the Red Bull Music Academy; it is an opportunity that must be explored for sure’ says Tollcrane. ‘Its not only the best opportunity to learn, collaborate and build your network but also gives you the best chance as a Pakistani to project a different, positive side of your country’.

Fun facts about
Sana Sarfraz Extremely talented, enthusiastic and versatile, this is what defines model Sana Sarfraz. She has not only dazzled the ramp of Pakistani fashion weeks but also appeared as the cover face of many Pakistani fashion magazines. Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Media Sciences and now currently doing Master in Advertising, Sana is considered one of best fashion model in the industry. She has done several lawn campaigns, TV commercials and fashion weeks. She has enraptured the audiences with her beauty, features, poise, and elegance by carrying the right attitude. Ebuzz caught this beautiful model and asked What we not know about her before! Here are some of the facts about her: 1.
I am a foodie person and I like junk food a lot. My diet is very unhealthy though it doesn’t reflect by looking and that because I do a lot of work and activities. 2. For dinning out I mostly visit Nandos, Subway, Arizona Grill, Roasters and OPTP. 3. I have a western clothing brand ‘PRINK.’ It’s an online clothing brand. I design it at home and then sell it online. 4. Modeling has never been my passion. I just do it because it worked out very well for me initially but it is not something I do from the core of my heart. 5. I am a very good makeup artist. I did three makeup course from London School of Makeup so I am really good in doing creative makeup. 6. Expect modeling, running my own business, setting up my own NGO and practicing creative make up are on my cards. 7. I am very patient and stable sort of person. 8. The craziest thing I have ever done up till now was doing a car accident. I was very young that time. I exceeded the speed limit. I was listening Tokyo Drift. I went in that zone and then I could not control the speed. 9. For me fashion is always about being causal yet very classy. To look good one has not to be dressed up so much. I generally don’t prefer to dress up a lot. Fashion should be comfortable. 10. One thing that I can’t change in myself is thinking. I think a lot. I am a very deep thinker and keen observer. 11. The most rememberable moment from my career was when I was awarded for been the best model of Fashion Pakistan Week. It was very much unexpected for me because they were very big names who also walked the ramp so whenever I do any fashion week I remember that moment. 12. One thing I hate about fashion industry is that people here live in their own bubble. Mostly people only know about fashion and few brands just to show off. They really don’t know what life is and what their future will be, they are not modest and balanced. EBUZZ

Adnan Pardesy tells 10 essential things for selecting a bridal jora
Summer is a popular time to tie the knot abroad but here in Pakistan if you are getting married in summer time prepare yourself for the ups and downs for having a successful and enjoyable wedding. While choosing your bridal dresses keep these simple steps to follow for a flawless day as a happy bride. 1. Dare to defy tradition: If you don’t want to wear the traditional heavy attire, summer wedding will give you a perfect excuse to explore your options further. Explore your colour choices, wear something sublime and cool. Watermelon, Coral, Lilacs, Subtle gold and greens can be explored. 2. Cuts and Shilhouettes Flowy silhouettes and cuts can make you look thinner and can also add glamor to your attire. Talk to your designer for a customized silhouette made specifically for your body type. 3. Comfort level Do consider stay-cool attire. A bride should feel comfortable and confident -- not sticky. Fabric choice is very important, organza, chantilly, chiffons and net/mesh fabrics can be perfect for summer bridal dresses. 4. The choice of Accessories Let your personality show through your accessories. Give a traditional gown a fun twist with a colourful sash or large, flashy earrings, or keep your style poised and polished with a simple pearl necklace and earrings 5. Style Statement Instead of opting forfuller and intricate embellishments a summer bride can also opt for fun, big and bold statements motifs on the shoulder or back giving a quirky twist to your wedding dress 6. Time management Venue and timings also play an important role for a bride to decide EBUZZ

the wedding dress. Things can be less complicated if it’s during the night. 7. Hair Do: Summer also brings beautiful blooms so take advantage of the flowers that are in season during these month. Add on some florals in your hair, put a fresh lip color and opt for lighter eye makeup. Summer make up is especially tricky; it can either enhance the overall bridal look or can put a chalky effect on your overall appearance which can shatter a bride’s confidence.

8. Guest dress code Make a dress code for guests as well. You might not want to end up looking more casual than your guests. 9. Fun footwear Think about wearing fun footwear. Getting married in the middle of July, consider sporting fancy studed flip-flops under your gown. Trust me sometimes you have to put your comfort level above other things. 10. Things in Bag Do take a safety pin in your bag. There’s always someone at a wedding who needs a safety pin. Be that power bride who comes to the rescue.

My Dressing – Fashion Closet
Pose
2
With Pose you can see what others are wearing on any given day based on the weather and your location. Pose provides your daily weather while also giving you outfit inspiration based on the forecast. To further filter your search you can browse outfit pictures based on the occasion you’re dressing for—a dinner party, a bridal shower, a day at the office and more.
My Dressing lets you take pictures of your outfits and store them in the app so you can remember that perfect outfit no matter how long it’s been since you wore it. Since you’re taking individual pictures of each article of clothing you can build and piece together new outfits right from the app, and you can easily crop your clothes out of pictures, share outfits with friends via Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, or email, and and you can create collections to organize everything you put together.
12Fashion and Beauty apps for Fashion Enthusiasts Don’t get us wrong: We love all things about fashion and beauty, but sometimes we wish there was an easier way to look hot all the time. Turns out, there is. These new fashion and beauty apps do everything from organizing your outfits to help you pick out your favorite nail polish shade.
Cool Guy
Stylebook Stylebook brings Cher Horowitz’s closet to life on your phone. It allows you to virtually curate the pieces in your wardrobe by uploading pictures in order to style and organize them. Users can create and plan outfits using photos of your actual clothes and accessories. The app also allows you to create packing lists, plan outfits in advance and keep track of what you wore when.

The Cool Guy app is the brother app of Stylish Girl, an app that lets you pick clothes from a huge database and put them together as outfits. This way, you can see what your clothes will look like together before you invest.

If you’re ever in an “I have nothing to wear” mood, this app is your go-to. Polyvore offers endless style inspiration by allowing users to create shoppable collages by mixing and matches products. Not only can you create your own stylish outfit collages, you can also search through collages created by others. Going hand-in-hand with your mood boards, Polyvore’s shopping section allows you to filter through by color, size, product style, brand, store and more.

Facial massage is one of the easiest ways to bring tired, sallow skin back to life. But, knowing exactly how to massage can be tough, which is where Facial Massage comes in. The app guides you through the motions of the perfect technique. And, since you can pull it up anywhere, you can give yourself a mini spa treatment whenever you need it.
TECHNOLOGY
OPI Nail Studio
If you spend a solid five minutes choosing your polish shade at the nail salon, consider this app a time saver. Download this app, change the skin tone of the hand to match yours, and then test out different polish shades so you can choose your favorite at the salon in a flash.

Stylect
Deemed “The Tinder for Shoes,” this app wants to help you find the footwear of your dreams. Swipe through over 50,000 shoe styles—from designers ranging from Christian Louboutin to Nike—based on your style and likes. Stylect allows you to filter your shoe search based on color, price or style. You can also create shoe wish-lists and make purchases directly through the app.

6 7
Ever wonder what you’d look like as a blonde? Modiface has the answer. Unlike some try-it-on apps, this one doesn’t just drop a lame overlay of a preconfigured hairstyle on top of your photo; it actually changes the hair color in the image that you import. It’s easy, too: Just upload a selfie, trace your hairstyle with your finger (so the app knows where to apply your chosen shade), and pick from one of the 30 blonde, brown, and red hair-color options.
Haircaster Think of this as a daily horoscope for your hair. This app prompts you to enter your zip code and hair texture, then tells you how the weather will impact your strands, along with styling tips.

Beauty Tips for Men
You don’t even have to upload a photo: Makeup Genius applies everything from cat eyes to bold red lipstick and pink blush (or all three!) in—get this—real time. Using your smartphone’s front-facing camera, the app scans 64 points on your face to perfectly swipe on lipstick, blush, eye shadow, and liner. Because it all happens live, you can test out each look at different angles, which is, well, just genius.
9
Beauty Tips for Men gives advice on everything from new clothes, to shaving to the best haircuts out there, making it one of the best men’s fashion apps you can find.

Trans Siberian Railway: Moscow to China
The Trans-Siberian is the longest railway in the world and the collective name for the three rail routes that cross Siberia from Moscow. The routes consist of the Trans-Monglolian, which starts in Moscow and ends in China via Ulaan Baatar, Mongolia, the Trans-Manchurian which travels through Siberia to Beijing, and the Trans-Siberian itself which ends up in Vladivostok, a city in the far east of Russia. It’s pretty epic. Along the way expect to see onion-domed churches, mud streets and gentle hills in Russia, as well as Lake Baikal, the deepest in the world. The scenery across Mongolia and the Gobi Desert is fascinating: think nomadic herdsmen, felt tents and camels. Once the train has crossed the Great Wall it heads south to China’s mightiest city, Beijing. Be warned that popular trains can be sold out well in advance, especially in peak season. You’ll also need your passport when you pay, as all tickets are personal with your name and passport number printed on them. This is especially important if you are planning on buying tickets for others. Lots of tour companies include a trip on the Trans Siberian railway in their itinerary as well.
5 Awesome Journeys The Silk Road: Europe to China The Silk Road crosses Asia, from China to Europe. Starting in the capital of Xian and ending up in Istanbul, Turkey, this trail goes through Uzbekistan, Turkemenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan before reaching China. Highlights along the way include the Great Wall of China, the Ming Tombs, Qinghai Lake, Kyrgyzstan’s numerous mountain ranges and the ancient city of Jiaohe. If you are up for a challenge, this route could be for you.

The Hippy Trail Named after the journeys taken by those free-lovin’, tree-huggin’ hippies in the 1960s and 70s, this route was all about ‘finding yourself’. The trail starts in Europe and passes either through Istanbul, Tehran, Goa and Kathmandu, or Turkey via Jordan on the way to India, Sri Lanka and various other easterly points. The original trail also goes through Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan, but due to ongoing conflicts in these areas, they’re obviously best avoided. Hippies are well-known for paving the way for today’s backpackers, with most of them choosing to hitchike the majority of this trail. Nowadays there are lots of companies that will enable you to follow in their footsteps.
to Make in 2015 Overlanding Africa: Casablanca to Cape Town Africa is an amazingly diverse continent and what better way to appreciate its diversity than travelling top to bottom? Voyaging from Casablanca to Cape Town in a huge truck, stopping at all the highlights along the way is what overlanding is all about. This African trail offers plenty of striking sights along the way: the busy markets of Marrakech, pyramids at Giza, driving for hours in the Sahara desert, voodoo festish marks in Togo, spotting mountain gorillas in Uganda, climbing Mount Cameroon,

canoeing down the Okavango Delta, and surfing down the biggest sand dunes in the world in Namibia. This amazing trip is made possible by a number of overlanding companies that will take you from the tip to the tail of Africa over a period of around seven months. You could rent a car yourself but unfortunately car hijacking is common, especially on the borders, so it is best to go with a tour company.
