A living proof that Aditya copra’s choice can never be wrong. She got her first break by Yash Raj films (Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi) and signed a three film contract. The struggle to be recognized because she didn’t became a star overnight with giddy highs and gulp-inducing lows. Now the sparkling star and pride of Bollywood made special place in heart of audience globally. Having a word with her is not less than a pleasure. The journey of a simple girl to versatile actress what challenges you face before you get your first break. Is there any audition horror story? To be honest, I never thought I would end up as an actress. I had been modeling since the age of eight and I wanted to pursue modeling only but as fate would have it, there I was auditioning for Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. Since I had no plans of becoming an actor, I had no game plan in mind as well. I just did what I felt was right. Even after my first film, I didn’t become an overnight star. No one put me on the covers of magazines and called me the next big thing. No one said that ‘she is the one to look out for’. My audition wasn’t an impromptu one. I took a whole day to prepare for my interview and it went very well. But before final casting, not many thought that I was fit for the role as I was a model and I was too young. But Adi had faith in me. What do you wish you’d known before you started acting? I knew nothing about this industry before I became a part it. I learnt everything on film sets. I just happened to be very lucky to work with some of the biggest names of the industry from whom I have learned a lot. I am still learning. Recently since my debut as a producer I had the opportunity to learn many new things as well, so all in all it has been a very educational journey for me and there is so much more to learn. Which of your performances has left a lasting mark on you? Every character is close to my heart but NH10, the whole experience was overwhelming. How do you keep yourself inspired as an artist? Do you see the work of your peers? Travel? Read? Go to museums? Since I believe I am a learner, I absorb from my surrounding. I learn from everything. I love to travel and observe new cultures and people, and this keeps me inspired and focused on doing my best. What’s your dream role? Being a movie star do you enjoy walking on the ramp?

prompting me to do more. Which of your own movie, you have watched more than twice. I usually watch it before it releases, once or twice, not more than that I do not have a “dream role” I just want to do good work and make every role a dream role that people can’t easily forget. I did have some great directors in mind to work with and thankfully I did get to work with most of them. And Yes, I do enjoy walking the ramp To whom you want to make a call when you are stuck in bad situation? My brother. He is my best friend, so he is the one I contact when I am in a bad situation. Working in Entertainment Industry makes you travel a lot, tell us about the place you shot a movie sequence and wanted to spend your holidays there. I love traveling; it is in fact, one of the best things about my job. I think of all the places I have shot movies, London is my favorite. films released in a single year how you feel about it. Great! The love from the audience inspires me to do more and do better as an actor and as a producer as well. Your first home production NH10, how was the experience working in your own production. The experience was fantastic and it strengthened our resolve that more stories were waiting to be told and we would like to be instrumental in making those. As an actor, it was physically very taxing. I suffered multiple injuries everyday during the shooting of NH10. I woke up with bruises without knowing when and where I got them. Becoming a producer was never on my mind. It was not premeditated, but this film evoked an interest , I felt so strongly for this film that I wanted to back it in this way and I wanted to be a part of this film completely. So all in all, it was a good experience
Anushka Sharma being the New Face Of Pantene what’s your criteria when it comes to endorsing a brand? It’s no secret that I am big on hair experiment. I love to try new colors and styles on my hair and being an actress there is a constant undeniable pressure of looking presentable. So I naturally rely on beauty products to ensure I have healthy skin and hair. I can’t compromise on quality of any product because these things are my assets and I need to ensure their well-being. So before I endorse any product, I try it on myself to check their reliability and only when I am satisfied, I give a go-ahead to these brands. I tried Pantene and I loved it! It goes into the core of my hair and restores the strength. Say a few words for Ebuzztoday Fans. Always be true to yourself. Be sincere and honest in whatever you do. All these cut outs and crops on the shoulders are a match made in heaven with all the silk and lace one can find! The great popularity of the hippie movement has inspired the first hippies of the world (fashion designers) to bring sophisticated and beautifully styled tie and dyes back in the limelight. Shehla Chatoor is hot- on- the heels
Nilofar Shahid is a couturier par excellence
Impressing us with her innate aesthetic sense; her distinctly alluring bride is edgy, bold and hot on heels in a range of swanky ensembles. The unbeatable blend of lovely textures amalgamated with clever detailing is just what that gives her an edge over others. And while luck may have played a part in her career Shehla has developed her own signature that wins her clients and accolades from all over. The swashbuckling, ALL The Raj stood out to be amongst the top collections at the recently concluded FPW. Her dramatic and on-trend jewelry line garners attention for its finesse and uniqueness. While the eclectic pieces on the runway represents her talent and taste which she has honed to perfection. Her designs in bridal and trousseau wear were shown exclusively at a fashion event in New Delhi which became a rage with the crowed and loved for unique craftsmanship and silhouettes.
No one can deny the prowess of Nilofar Shahid whose label Meeras has a global appeal. The designer came back on the fashion radar with a bang in 2015 and what a comeback it was magnetic and magical; In terms of quality and detailing. She stole the thunder from others with a brilliant display of craftsmanship in a timeless collection at FPW. We loved how she had played around with cuts, colors and patterns featuring full skirts, mixed with capes, corsets and ball gowns.

Game changer year for Faraz Manan
Saira Shakira’s designs are more than just style
He doesn’t show at PFDC for reasons better known to him but that does not mean that he lacks in some criteria albeit Faraz Manan is probably the most underrated designer. He’s an extremely nifty designer and whatever he’s achieved enhances the appeal of his ingenious canvas craft. His brand aesthetics are unconventional but the finishes and technique- extremely thorough. The eponymous label has branched out to the land of sheikhs, Dubai last year which made the right news, the flagship boutique aims at capturing a wider market and he does so with aplomb. Having an already established clientele in India and UAE this was a wise move which shows his business acumen. He prefers a gold and muted palette while the signature embroidery technique is interspersed with crystals, sequins, beadwork and naqshi. The elaborate collection shown at FPW was stellar in terms of presentation and flair.
The duo has won hearts over in a short span of time and most of this is due to their dedicated pursuit and a passion to flourish. The Eclectic retro collection introduced androgyny and was perhaps the most noted and liked lineup shown at PFDC. It was the first time that they introduced print with their design philosophy which is largely based on fusion; mixing of various elements, be it culture or texture and generally it was a very fun collection. Having introduced the pairing of “the dress shirt” with an embellished sharara; the talented duo is now planning on a bigger venture in the coming year. The launch of their most anticipated flagship store at The Galleria Gulberg will feature a range of prey, luxury prêt and formals.

Look who is knocking on the door? MAHGUL makes a big leap Making a strong debut as part of the emerging talent showcase at the prestigious PFDC was Mahgul. Immersed in colour, contrast, drape, detail, art, luxury; the year 2015 Mahgul produced two luxury collections and three prêt. Vivante has to be the collection that made everyone sit up and take notice. The designer came up with a series of innovative techniques that have led new avenues in design work. Vivante visits Mahgul Rashid’s fine artist aesthetic whereby the collections’ embellishments and patterns are inspired heavily by aerial views of architecture and stark elevation drawings also incorporating 3d origami accessory influences and the designers’ revamping of the way in which a dupatta can be worn and draped. The Future is indeed bright and the plans to concentrate on ready to wear will be the biggest jump in 2016.

The valiant lady is here to stay; Maheen Taseer Although, the world is not yet aware of the work of this new kid on the block but we suggest that you put Maheen Taseer in the slot of a ‘rising star.’ The young diva is surely set to unleash her creativity within her and fill a place in the fashion industry. 2015 was a wise year for the brand and it also marks her debut on a platform as big as PFDC. The coming months will tell about the progress about the brand which has just taken off but it has already found its niche clientele. The bridal collection was a good start and a new, fun venture for Maheen who delved into classic wear with a variety of lengths and is now working on a new collection based on velvets with shorter flared pants, capes and experimenting with colors. The luxury prêt collection and prêt line concentrates on an innovative design philosophy which will make her a household name.

Meet the cutting-edge designer Ammara Khan
The Dynamics of House of Kamiar
Ammara khan is a powerhouse of talent and creativity impetus and the way she is progressing in her field is without a doubt a commendable feat. Just as the consumers are becoming more aware and fashion driven, more labels like hers are emerging that doesn’t compromise on design ethos and technique. While making a solid statement with what she loves doing best-fashion she’s had her moments of lows and endured criticism on her collections but the recent spate of successes on runway as a bridal couture designer has firmly placed her amongst a top few which is an absolute testimony of her sheer mastery over design aesthetics and a will to go forward.
The House of Kamiar Rokni is known for an incredible sense of style featuring the trio Kamiar, Tia and Rehan who are slowly and steadily finding their niche. The admirable team does not show every year but this time at PFDC the fresh, take on the incredibly prized collection ‘Alchemy’ stood on top as a versatile joint effort. Inspired from the traditional, regional, global embellishments; the bridal collection incorporated welltailored cuts and styles. House of Kamiar thrives on sartorial selections reflecting a strong design ethos and here is hoping that they grow stronger in terms of fashion participation and retail presence.

Suffuse by Sana Yasir made a strong debut The thrill of discovering new talent in the field is the most exciting prospect of any given showcase. Sana Yasir’s “Falaknuma”-shown in the rising talent showcase at PFDC was a mix of the classic details with a contemporary edge of cuts and styling. The references and motifs were inspired from the “Taj Falaknuma Palace” and featured exquisite Italian baroque and subcontinental architecture and interior. The fineries, carvings and interiors details of the palace gave immense references and inspiration to be translated into apparel details and embellishments. Sana Yasir may not own a signature yet but she has emerged as a strong contender on the fashion ball and certainly to watch out for.

What a year for Khadija Shah It would be an understatement to not to notice Élan progressing in the year which saw her making huge strides in the field of retail and bridal fashion. Sapphire is a great example of a lifestyle store that has achieved nationwide success and is on its way of becoming a great business model. Khadija Shah has brought her A-game on the ramp with two successive collections shown at PFDC and later on at FPW which has pushed the sartorial button and made her as one of the most respected name on the fashion scene. The opulence of her designs brings a snazzy appeal but never losing the charm; her outfits scream attention. This year she chose to veer away from the silver based crystal couture which initially gave her recognition and pulled out a surprise collection that focused on embellishment techniques in various forms. She delved into a myriad of cuts from dhotis, belted frocks, long jackets to voluminous skirts.

Fashion design is a whole process and it’s difficult to choose the part but I think the most favorite part of the process is when you execute your drawing into real piece and nature is a source of inspiration for me.
Some say that fashion is 98% business and 2 % creativity what do you think?
What is your favorite part about being a fashion designer? What inspires you when you are creating your designs?
How do you feel you have grown or changed as a designer since you entered the fashion industry? What have you learnt since you started out? It feels really great because creativity gives you satisfaction and it gives you sense of creating things. I learnt a lot during last past eight years I learnt patience, dealing with clients and stress management.
Since you do a lot of custom bridal wear, what kind of brides do you normally encounter? Do they usually know exactly what they want , or do they let you guide the design process?
Mostly girls are very sensitive about the main day and mostly they are very indecisive .They are confused about colours and cut. They need guidance about what will they give the perfect look. We also guide them about the entire look of the day. What are the key elements for you when designing a collection each year?
Practicality, quality work, colour combination and design concepts. Bridal is your forte. What kind of changes do you foresee in this EBUZZ

JAN-FEB 2016
For the upcoming bridal season, brides would be more into traditional and regal .Brides would prefer to wear pure traditional zardosi work and embellishment material. To me its creativity which gives you inner satisfaction but honestly speaking it’s a blending of two things .If you create good thing you get good business. What would you tell someone looking to get
into designing? Are there any special skills that you need? Definitely your basic knowledge about cuts and fabric is very important .You should very clear about the result of your creation. Special skills which you need are esthetic sense and observation.
What are the dressings essential that every man and woman should in their wardrobe? Nice pair of shoes.
What’s your style statement for an elegant girl? Elegance is the only beauty that never fades. So style statement for an elegant girl is to carrying dress according to occasion. Do you feel that fashion weeks in Pakistan can help institutionalize and professionalize the business of fashion in Pakistan
Yes a fashion week gives you platforms .They gives you recognition in to institutionalize and professionalize the business of fashion in Pakistan
Who are the celebrities you would love to dress up and why? Angelina Jolie and Rania AL-Abdullah .Because both are very attractive personality and they doing great social work all over the globe.
If you weren’t a fashion designer .what would you do instead Any field related to creativity. If I weren’t a fashion designer I would be a painter. Shazia kiyani in one word would be Loyal.

“The La Vie en Rose” was the chic fall / winter collection showcased on the ramp by Deepak Perwani. Inspired by the grandeur of old baroque, winter roses and chantley lace this collection reflected European beauty providing a crossover appeal for international audiences. The new skirt gave the entire collection a very modern twist keeping the traditional and wedding season in mind. Lace, organza, screen prints, crystals, kora dapka and lots of pearls define this collection. With exquisite tailoring and elegant cuts including voluminous skirts and wrap around jackets the collection had the vintage nostalgia of something new and something old.

Gathered, tucked, embroidered and falling loose in rumpled luxury, FnkAsia’s “From Tuscany with love” presents a modern day ode to the beauty of Duomo, Museums, and the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa. Through its classic silhouettes and cascading ruffles, it attempts to showcase the romantic culture and ethnicity of these regions. With chic elegant tailoring complimented by beautiful statement embellishments and embroidery, the versatile pieces are wearable as statement separates. An investment for any fashionistas wardrobe.
“Eternal” by Hisham Malik
www.ebuzztoday.com
“Eternal” by Hisham Malik takes inspiration from Alexander Pope’s neo-classical romantic poem “Eloisa to Abelard”. The collection visually narrates the poem through the imagery of flame and flowers which are a recurring motif. The colour palate of the collection is based on the various stages of flame and its colours: peach tinged turquoise, to dusky pink, burnt orange, golden yellow and finally ivory white. The setting of the poem is reflected in the French ornamentation style, in particular through ribbon work, stump work, toile de jouy inspired surfaces and French knot embroidery. The collection was been constructed using European haute couture techniques with tulle corsets sewn into every garment and foundation underskirts. The fabrics of the collection were primarily benarasi handloom fabrics such as tissue, kimkhwab, reshams jamawar, and kundan zari as well as unconventional fabrics such as shanghai velvet and tweed. A fabulous collaboration of Pakistani and European heritage.

The Mughal Man from Nauman Arfeen
This is men’s fashion at its finest! Empowerment, strength and virtue are few of the salient features of The Legacy, autumn/winter ‘16 collection by Nauman Arfeen. In hues of ivory, olive and honey dew, the designer behind a brand that personifies men’s fashion in Pakistan has set his collection in the rich, royal Mughal era. Using plush textiles such as raw silk, velvet, hand woven jamawaar and mysore silks as his canvas, Nauman creates an enchanting visual feast blending the contemporary with the traditional. The elephant is used as a statement motif, weaving a pattern of strength which symbolises the collection overall. As well as this, digital prints added vibrancy against intricate embroideries to create new textures. The extravagant footwear just complimented the collection adding to the royal Mughal feel.

“ALL THE RAJ” from Shehla Chatoor
www.ebuzztoday.com
Shehla Chatoor of the luxury label SHEHLA’s presented a heart-felt and wholly handcrafted bridal collection titled ‘All the Raj’. With references to the grandeur of sub-continental royalty and subtle style influences left by the British, the vintagerevivalist collection which also includes in-house hand-crafted shoes, clutches and traditional jewellery hark back to the majestic British Raj. This regal aesthetic is juxtaposed with a contemporary twist for the modern bride creating an east meets west elegant classic collection. With fur, tassels and velvet this collection was simply luxurious opulence at its fines. The silhouettes, embellishment and colour palette presented a thoughtful collaboration between the dreamy classicism of the Raj’s vintage costumes and the influences of an enveloping European culture which together create both timeless and Boho-edgy pieces.

Five places you must visit before they disappear As the surface temperature of our beloved planet increases gradually, some of the most beautiful locations are under the imminent threat of disappearance. We bring you a list of places you must visit before melting glaciers; rising sea or erratic weather get the better of them.
Maldives
Closer to home, Maldives is the most favorite vacation destination of Indians. Be it lazing around on a tranquil beach or diving into the sea for a snorkeling experience, you get it all in the neighboring island nation. However, like many other similar destinations, Maldives is under the imminent threat of submergence due to rising sea levels. While locals are artificially raising some areas, in 2009 the country’s government set up a fund to buy land for refuge.
Alps
This enormous mountain range spread across eight European countries including Switzerland and Italy, was once considered the ultimate tourist destination for adventure seekers and honeymooners alike. The extensive winter sports in the mountains have suffered owing to the receding snow line. Ski resorts are desperately trying to adapt to climate changes with some trying to modify the services offered. Some have tried to cover the glaciers with sheets of plastic fleece and wool to keep the snow from melting. Given the vastness of the region, that may not be the most sustainable option. Scientists studying climate change fear that most of the glaciers might be gone by the year 2030.

Great Barrier Reef
It is the only living thing on earth visible from space. Stretching over 2300km, the Great Barrier Reef is the largest reef system in the world. Apart from about 400 corals, the reef is home to coral sponges, mollusks, rays, dolphins, over 1500 species of tropical fish, more than 200 types of birds, around 20 types of reptiles including sea turtles and giant clams over 120-years-old, according to greatbarrierreef.org. From ski diving to scuba diving to snorkeling, there are many ways through which you can live the experience. World’s most beautiful marine ecosystem could be gone within the next four decades unless carbon emissions are reduced, said the director of the Global Change Institute at the University of Queensland in a research published in 2011.
Venice The beautiful floating city has been on the travel list of all who love to travel. Steering through this city of love on a gondola with your special one has often been described as the most romantic experience. The Italian city has often flooded when the water levels rose but the occurrence has multiplied over the years. According to travel website independenttraveler.com, while St. Mark’s Square had flooded only seven times in 1900, it had happened 99 times in 1996. In 2014, the square had flooded about 60 times, said a local in an interview to the BBC. The Italian government has been working a project, known as the Moses project, to draw barriers around the city to save it from flooding. The project which was due to be completed by 2014 has now been delayed till 2017. Critics say that the project might be outdated already.
Majuli Canvassed in green fields and bamboo groves, Majuli, one of world’s largest river islands, is tucked in a corner in northeast India. Ferry your way from Assam’s mainland to reach this island in Brahmaputra River. While the people of Majuli depend on the river for sustenance, climate change has posed a threat to this beautiful island. As the water in Brahmputra swells unpredictably, Majuli’s land is gradually getting eroded. This land of a rich cultural heritage and a colorful tradition may soon be lost to erratic climate.
