Game Notes Last Time Out: The Soaring Eagles are coming off a heartbreaking 4-3 overtime loss to Nazareth College. The Golden Flyers took a 1-0 lead nearly 20 minutes into the first half, but EC newcomers Alison Mariano ’18 and Sarah McCaffrey ’18 answered with goals of their own to give Elmira a 2-1 lead heading into halftime. The Golden Flyers scored two unanswered goals to put Nazareth back on top, 3-2, but Katie Carroll ’18 knocked home her first career goal to tie the game at three and force overtime. Nazareth scored the game-winning goal with just over five minutes left in the overtime period to pick-up the conference win.

Game Notes Ithaca This Season: The Bombers of Ithaca College come into today’s contest with a 4-5 overall record and a 2-1 mark inside the Empire 8 Conference. Ithaca most recently fell, 5-2, to non-conference opponent William Smith College on October 1st. Prior to the loss to the Herons, the Bombers earned back-to-back Empire 8 wins, shutting out Houghton College and Nazareth College, on September 24th and 27th respectively, by identical 2-0 scores. O’Brien Garners Empire 8 Honors: Defender Caitlin O’Brien ’16 is the reigning Empire 8 Conference Defensive Player of the Week. She helped the Bombers to a pair of 2-0 shutouts, both over Empire 8 opponents, moving Ithaca’s conference record to 2-1. In addition to the two clean sheets, O’Brien got involved offensively, scoring a career-high two goals in Ithaca’s 2-0 win over Nazareth College. Scoring Options: Danielle Coiro ’15, Colleen KeeganTwombly ’17, and Caitlin O’Brien ’16 lead the Bombers with eight points apiece this season. Coiro has scored four goals to earn her eight points, while both Keegan-Twombly and O’Brien have recorded three goals and two assists. All-Time Series: The Bombers hold the all-time advantage against the Purple and Gold, winning 12 of the previous 14 matchups.
