Game Notes Last Time Out: The Ducks of Stevens Tech enter today’s contest with a 5-8 overall record after falling to SUNY New Paltz at home, 4-2, on Wednesday. New Paltz took a 2-0 lead just over 20 minutes into the game, but Stevens would not go away quietly as Dailyn Brook ’16 scored her ninth of the season to make it a 2-1 game. The Hawks answered with their third goal of the game, and after Victoria Alvarez ’18 again made it a one-goal game, New Paltz sealed the victory with their final score with over seven minutes remaining. Number Two in the Empire 8: Stevens’ top-two scorers in 2014, Dailyn Brook ’16 and Victoria Alvarez ’18 are also two of the top offensive players in the Empire 8 Conference. Both players have 29 points on the year, tying for second in the conference in points and points per game. Brook’s 29 points have come on nine goals and an Empire 8-leading 11 assists, while Alvarez has scored 12 goals and added five assists for her 29 points. Top-Five in the Nation: Stevens’ defenders have been up to the task of making last-second saves as they have totaled 13 defensive saves entering this week of play. The 13 defensive saves rank the Ducks fifth in NCAA Division III, giving the Empire 8 two teams in the top-20, the other being Elmira.
