It has been nearly a month since the Soaring Eagles last played when Elmira hosted SUNY Potsdam for a pair of ECAC West contests. Elmira swept the weekend series with the Bears, outscoring Potsdam 15-1 in EC’s two victories.

Big Weekend for Ry

Ashley Ryan ’15 continued to wreak havoc on opposing defenses, with her latest victim being SUNY Potsdam. In two games, Ryan logged nine points on two goals and seven assists. Her nine-point weekend solidified her spot as the nation’s leading point-scorer with 2.60 points per game.

Lethal PP Unit

Elmira’s power-play unit has played a large role in EC’s success this season as the Purple and Gold have scored on 33.9 percent of their power-play chances, the third-best percentage in the country. Leading the charge on the power play has been Cassidy Delainey ’15 and Ashton Hogan ’15. Delainey is tied for the national lead with six powerplay goals while Hogan is tied for third with five power-play scores.

One Way Traffic

The Soaring Eagles have been in the driver seat for the majority of the season, controlling games from the opening faceoff. Elmira has scored 59 goals this season and has limited opponents to just 18 goals. To put in perspective how good Elmira has been, the Soaring Eagles have scored 18 goals in just the third periods of games they have played this year, equaling the total amount of goals EC has allowed the entire season.
