Elmira enters this featured weekend with a 15-1-1 overall record and a perfect 10-0-0 ECAC West record after sweeping Chatham University by a combined 9-0 score last weekend. EC took down the Cougars, 5-0, on Saturday, with Ashley Ryan ’15 and Cassidy Delainey ’15 each scoring twice in the contest. The Purple and Gold then concluded the weekend with a 4-0 victory, with two goals apiece from Ashton Hogan ’15 and Johanna Eidensten ’17.

Pair of Shutouts

The Soaring Eagles are coming off a pair of shutout victories over Chatham University. Kyle Nelson ’17 recorded her first shutout of the season in EC’s 5-0 win on Saturday, then Kelcey Crawford ’18 notched her second career shutout in Elmira’s 4-0 victory on Sunday. The shutouts are Elmira’s first since November 2nd against Manhattanville College.

Moving Up

Ashley Ryan ’15 compiled a six-point weekend against Chatham, scoring two goals and assisting on four others. The six points increased her career total to 139, vaulting her from seventh on the Elmira College all-time points list to a tie for fourth. Another four points will put Ryan in sole possession of third place all-time.

Battle of the Unbeatens

For the fifth consecutive season, EC and Plattsburgh State will open their weekend series unbeaten in ECAC West Conference play. Three of the previous four times the two teams met under these circumstances brought a weekend split. The only time that one team won both games was in 2012-13 when Plattsburgh swept the two-game series played at the Murray Athletic Center. That season, however, was Elmira’s national championship season.
