Last Time Out
Elmira enter tonight’s contest with an 8-5-3 overall record after picking up a come from behind victory against Salve Regina. The Soaring Eagles trailed 3-1 midway through the second period but three unanswered Elmira goals sealed a 4-3 win for the Purple and Gold.
Season First
The Soaring Eagles trailed Salve Regina, 3-2 entering the third period of last Saturday’s game. Elmira completed the comeback as Tyler Theodoulou ’18 and Jarryd ten Vaanholt ’16 each scored a goal in the third period to lift EC past the Seahawks. For Elmira, it is the first time this season they have trailed entering the third period and still managed to skate away with a victory.
Belief in No. 10
After finishing fourth on the team last year in points, Jarryd ten Vaanholt ’16 has stepped up his game in a big way in 2014-15 as the third-year talent leads Elmira in goals (8), assists (15), and points (23). Elmira’s most consistent contributor this season, ten Vaanholt has registered points in 14-of-15 games this season and has posted a team-leading seven multi-point games.
Homestand Ends
This weekend’s games against Manhattanville mark the end of a fourgame homestand, the longest stretch of home games for Elmira this season. It is also the longest stretch of home games since the 2010-11 season when the Soaring Eagles also played four consecutive games at the Murray Athletic Center.
