EC trailed St. John Fisher by just eight points with 5:47 to play, but the Cardinals used a 7-0 run to put the game out of reach. Then, on Saturday, Elmira trailed Nazareth by three points with less than 10 seconds left in regulation, but a three-pointer from Justin Henderson ’16 sent the game into overtime. The Soaring Eagles and Golden Flyers played a total of three overtime periods, with Nazareth eventually escaping with a 95-93 victory after Henderson’s game-winning three-point attempt rattled in-and-out at the buzzer. Most Points Since 2003: Saturday’s 93-point output was the first time in over a decade that the Purple and Gold reached 90 points in a game. The last time EC scored 90plus in a game was on January 25, 2003 against Rochester Institute of Technology. Elmira won that game, 96-79, on their home floor.
