Can They Make it Three?

After not defeating Ithaca College for 10 years prior to the 2011-12 season, the Soaring Eagles have split each of the last four meetings with the Bombers. The two wins have both come at Speidel Gymnasium, making Tuesday’s matchup a chance for three home victories over Ithaca in a row.

Second Half Burst

The Soaring Eagles scored 37 points on 52 percent shooting from the floor in the second half against the Cardinals as the men turned a 14-point game into a three point game with just under four minutes to play. Unfortunately, the men were unable to complete the comeback. It is the fifth game this season that EC has outscored their opponent in the second half, with the Purple and Gold holding a 3-2 record in those games.

Scoring Balance

For the second game in a row, and the third time this season, at least four EC players turned in a double-digit scoring performance. The Soaring Eagles won the first instance, against Fredonia State, but have suffered close losses to Hamilton College and St. John Fisher College in the last two.

Taking Care of the Rock

Despite the loss, the Soaring Eagles only committed eight turnovers Friday night against St. John Fisher while forcing 10 Cardinal turnovers. It is the sixth time this season the Purple and Gold have won the turnover battle with EC holding a 3-3 record in those games.
