Home Opener
Saturday’s game against Hilbert College marks the first game of the season played in Speidel Gymnasium. Since the 2000-01 season the Soaring Eagles have had mild success in home-openers as they have gone 5-8. The last time the Purple and Gold have won their first home game was against Fredonia State on November 15th of the 2009-10 campaign when EC came out on top, 83-77.
Success in Speidel
Last season the Purple and Gold found a lot more success in their home gymnasium than on the road as the men went 5-6. Their highest scoring game of the 2012-13 season was at home when they posted 88 points in their 88-62 win over Hartwick College on January 25th of last season.
Leading the Pack
Despite big nights from different players, Neil Randolph ’15 has been the most consistent source of offense for Elmira, averaging 15.7 points per game. Randolph led the Soaring Eagles in the 63-51 road loss against Cortland State on Tuesday night with team-highs of 14 points and seven rebounds.
Big Nights
In Elmira’s first game of the season, Josh Keys ’14 hit a career-high eight three-pointers, totaling 24 points on the night. In the second game of the season big-man David Borelli ’15 had the best night of his career posting his first career double-double after notching 19 points and 14 rebounds, both career highs.
