Game Notes Last Time Out: The Lakers of Oswego State dropped just their second game of the season last time out, falling to Southern New Hampshire University, 4-3, at home on January 11th. Southern New Hampshire broke a 1-1 tie with three unanswered goals, one shorthanded and two powerplay goals, to take a 4-1 advantage. Oswego scored two goals in the third period, but their comeback attempt would fall short as the Penmen held off the Lakers. Botten Moves Up to Fourth: Alex Botten ’17 took the team lead in scoring against Southern New Hampshire, scoring two goals and assisting on a third to increase his season totals to six goals, 16 assists, and 22 points. Botten increased his points per game average to 1.69 and moved into fourth place in the country in scoring average. The “Other” Lakers: Oswego State has had no issues scoring the puck this season, averaging 4.9 goals per game, and that is reflected in the Lakers’ individual scoring totals. Behind Botten is fellow 20-point scorer Shawn Hulshof ’17 who leads Oswego with 10 goals scored and ranks 12th in the nation in points per game at 1.43. Also, both Matt Galati ’17 and Kenny Neil ’17 are nearing 20 points on the season, coming into tonight with 19 and 18, respectively.
