Game Notes Last Time Out: The Soaring Eagles fell to SUNY Cortland 60-34 last Saturday, January 24th. Meghan Loya ’16 led the EC women with eight points, five rebounds, and a block while Alex Balara ’15 chipped in with six points, four steals, three assists, and two rebounds in the loss. Heiman with a Career-Game: Ashley Heiman ’16, who is known for her volleyball skills at EC, is coming into her own on the basketball court in her first season with the Purple and Gold. Against SUNY Cortland, Ashley Heiman ’16 posted six points, four rebounds, and two steals in 15 minutes. This is the second time this season she has played 15 minutes or more in a game and posted a career-high in points, rebounds, and steals. Climbing the Ranks: With four assists last weekend, Alex Balara ’15 upped her career total of assists to 180. This moves into ninth place on the most career assists in EC history. She is 16 assists away from seventh placed former teammate Jessica Zoltowski ’14.

Game Notes A Look at the Golden Flyers: Nazareth enters the weekend with an 11-7 overall record and a 6-3 mark inside the Empire 8 Conference. The Golden Flyers have won three of their past four games, all against Empire 8 Conferences opponents. Nazareth is coming off a 66-52 victory over E8 foe Houghton College. The Golden Flyers used a 14-0 run in the second half and didn’t allow the Highlanders to score for 7:31 in the half to pull away for to the victory. Lindsey Kelly ’16 led with a team-high 14 points in the victory. Empire 8 Player of the Week: Lindsey Kelly ’16 was named the Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season for her efforts last week. She posted a pair of double-doubles, including dropping 20 points and collecting a career-high 15 rebounds in the 59-55 victory over St. John Fisher College. She also shot 14-for-24 over the week to make 58.3 percent of her shots from the field.
